  1. Because Utah lost to BYU and San Diego State. UCLA now has 4Ls and 1 was to Fresno State at home. I think the Pac-12 is ranked exactly like it has played OOC and in conference.
  2. We've got the whole CFB world in Puddles hands. Ranked above undefeated OK and Cincy? Go 12-1 and the Ducks is in. Oregon is ranked ahead of 2 undefeated teams and 1 at least, Cincy, cannot catch up SOS wise. Keep on winning Fresno and Ohio State. This is not like 2014 when TCU/Baylor tied for a title and were left out for an FSU team the Ducks destroyed. Win out and as Herbie said tonight, Oregon is in. Ohio State will defeat MI ST and MI. Bama at 2 tells the story. Bama defeats UGA in the SEC champ game and both are in. Which is fine because a 12-1 OH ST is in and Oregon won't be jumped by OK or Cincy. Bama takes an L vs UGA and probably, Cincy and not OK is in? You schedule big time games like at Ohio State and win and you are in. But Oregon has to run the table and not with just close wins. The Ducks SOS, with SMU and Houston not being ranked will be better than Cincy's and I do not see even a 13-0 OK, its best OOC win being Nebraska, jumping Oregon.
  3. You want to seal the deal with this kid and others? Justify the #4 PO Committee ranking and play ball on New Year's Eve.
  4. Absolutely. 100% Spot ON! Today what matters is The Final 4. It's not like the Rose Bowl is equivalent to making the Elite 8 in the BBall Tourney; it simply is not. Plus, Ducks go to the PO + that means another Pac-12 team is in the NY6, playing in the Rose Bowl.. That's $10M for the conference instead of $4M. Anyone wanting the Ducks to face easier competition in the Rose Bowl has my respect, but in this day and age of the Final 4, not wanting a Final 4 bid is simply wrong. The Final 4 to recruits matters. With the Pac-12 media rights being renegotiated in 2023 before the expiration of the current rights in 2024, it also really matters. Last time Oregon was in this position? It was a no show at ASU. The Ducks showed up flat and could not come back against a mediocre team. This is big time CFB and you need, especially considering where the rest of the conference is, to be in the Final 4. And BTW, I do not believe that the Ducks would be embarrassed in the semi-final. This is gut check time for Mario, the coaching staff and the team. The next 5, yes I'm calling the Ducks playing for the title in LV, are all winnable games. There is not a roster the Ducks will face that is its equal. NO EXCUSES! Kick booty.
  5. Dissed - the B12 - Undefeated OK at 8? Dissed - Cincinnati + the AAC - The CT does not ignore SOS. And no other AAC teams in the top 25? Cincy best hope that ND #10 runs the table. Dissed - Sans Oregon, the Pac-12, as it should be. Not Dissed - The B1G W - 20, 21, 22 - THIS will help the team B1G E team, likely Ohio State, to play a top 25 team in the B1G champ game. Not Dissed - I'm shocked! SEC has the the top ranked 1L, 2L and 3L teams. Alabama's L to a 2L team? Nothing to see here, move right along. Not Dissed - And good for the Ducks. The MW with Fresno at 23 and SDS at 24. Fresno in the top 25 is big for the Ducks. Not Dissed - The Ducks. But from here on out with the schedule Ohio State has left to play Oregon needs style points galore. Back to back games vs UGA in Miami and then in Atlanta? Talk about having to PROVE IT! Let's do it!
  6. Did you see THAT sports fans! I'm liking my 12-1 Final 4 call better and better. Oregon needs to play on New Year's Eve and not New Year's Day. Not only for the Ducks but for the entire conference.
  7. PLAYOFF - 1 month free recruiting infomercial - big help to Pac-12 media negotiations! You want to play in an exhibition game or for a championship? If you want to go Rose Bowl instead of the PO, there is zero reason to schedule Ohio State + UGA OOC.
  8. A team that I think will be in the CT's top 25 and is not in the AP top 25, 5-2 Minnesota. Played Ohio State close. Shut out CU in Boulder. Inexplicable L vs BGSU but leading the B1G W with a decimated RB room. Fleck is doing a terrific under the radar coaching job.
  9. And those calls could easily cost the conference $6M. Oregon in the PO = $6M. 2nd Pac-12 team in Rose = $4M. Oregon in the Rose = $4M.
  10. Today? TCU and TX TECH might be more attractive than SC? Kidding, kind of. Florida AD Stricklin was with Mullen at MS ST and he hired Mullen. But lots of UF fans want Mullen gone. BTW, in year 2, The Pirate has not elevated the Cow Bells to where Mullen did with Dak Prescott at QB, but he is doing a heck of a job including last Saturday's beat down of Kentucky and its hot coach, Mark Stoops. If Franklin was given a choice, UF in the SEC E might be a better landing place than LSU? Of course, once OK/TX come on board I think the SEC will eliminate divisions and go to pods? I agree. No way Franklin trades PSU for MSU.
  11. I should have given Wilner credit for the 2017 OK ST comparison with this season's OR/tOSU situation.
  12. Mel is making more moola with every W. 40 guys from the portal! Amazing. But the offset? Where did the guys who were on the squad in 2020 go? If he was coaching at his alma mammy, Wisconsin, I think he might stay? But I think LSU is about to do what MSU did do to CU?
  13. Spot on. Easier to rank success in relation to success than junk vs junk. OR ST ? Not a band of road warriors.
  14. Now 14-9 on the season. Why does Virtually Confused Joey Galloway, keep on embarrassing himself with Virtual Locks that are anything but? Joey, you're picks are not helping with your purported 'expert' CFB status. And Bear's Bank looks like it needs a bail out from the Federal Reserve? I liked a lot of the early lines and wanted to get on them before they moved. YES, I do like the Ducks -6.5 in Seattle. This UW team is bad and Oregon gets up for this game. And I believe that with 7:30 KO the coaches and players know that fans back east will be tuning in? Who knows? At season's end comparing the score of this game to UW at Michigan may come into play? Michigan stifled and ran all over UW. Missouri +38 at Georgia - UGA will be ranked #1 by the Playoff Committee tonight. Will Kirby and the Dawgs be all that motivated to destroy Missouri by 5 TDs+? The only concern I have is that Daniels needs to get reps and UGA might keep on chucking the ball? I think UGA can beat Bama, but only with Daniels and not Bennett at QB? Michigan State -3 at Purdue - I can certainly see a let down after the awesome come back win over Michigan. I can also see Michigan State justifiably being ranked #2 by the PO Committee tonight and not being thrilled about being only a 3 point favorite against the Boilermakers? I also believe MSU is going to push hard to get RB Kenneth Walker III the Heisman Trophy? Unless you are sure, never bet more than the combined Wake/Army score.
  15. Marijuana is legal in Oregon? Right?
  16. Great and fun take. In a short season after such a long season and with such a limited so-called 'Playoff' field its hard to overreact one way or the other after every game? As Lou Holtz said: You have a different team every week.
  17. Great stuff! With the same record, head to head has to matter. OS ST ahead of Utah.
  18. Hope the move was not too stressful and enjoy the game! A couple of thoughts on why earlier games are better? You get back home on Saturday instead of Sunday. The weather almost certainly will be better in the daytime. Tailgating works better for lunch than dinner. Easier to dodge post game DUI drivers in the daylight. And, a few fans east of the Cascades might tune in to watch the Ducks?
  19. I think Lake gets one more year so long as he dumps OC Donovan? Lots of UW folks who wanted Smith out of the OC job and cheered when he went to OR ST now want him back as Husky HC.
  20. Anyone surprised that College Gameday will be in Cincy on Saturday for the HUGE Cincy vs Tulsa match up? ESPN's dream Final 4? UGA, BAMA, OH ST and CINCINNATI. This would give ESPN a month of coming with 'little guy' takes. 2 of 'its own' in and all the eyeballs tOSU brings.
  21. 2017 - OK wins at OH ST - loses vs NR Iowa St / after L to OK, OH ST goes on a tear and defeats Penn St in a close game the Saturday before the 1st PO rankings. 2017 1st ranking - 5 - 1L OK and at 6 - 1L OH ST. I expect we will see the same tonight? Ducks ranked 1 spot ahead of the Bucks. Easy out for the PO CT. Allows CT to follow its own guidelines regarding head to head results. And the CT knows that OH ST has at least 2 and likely 3, top 25 games upcoming. The Ducks - Zip.
  22. Last Saturday, Gameday celebrated the 10th anniversary of Lee Corso's F-Bomb.
  23. Is that you Ty? I thought you were busy with the PO Committee?
