  1. These rankings Mr. Marsh are mellow. Hopefully, Arizona can winless out and cement that #130 ranking? Oregon has met expectations to date. All others but Oregon State have failed. The biggest 'F' goes to UW. Hats off to 4-0 BYU with a game left vs USC; a team that has taken the LOS away from Los Angeles.
  2. I am resident in South Cackalacky. A 10 AM local tee time (Bloody Mary in hand) gets me home post-18, even after stopping to collect my winnings (?), by 2:30, easy. In Aiken, SC, we live in horse country. Accordingly, we play golf cart polo. We say Neigh to any round over 4 hours in duration and Whoa to any hacker who exceeds 4 hours Living a driver and a 3 iron from the club (at 74 it's 2 drivers, a five hybrid and a wedge) I have time to take a shower (my spouse roundly approves of this) throw on my Ducks sweat shirt and stay awake (subject to modest imbibing) until the game's conclusion; or, until my ticker quits. But in all honesty, games start far too late on the Right Coast. Especially for those of us in advanced middle age.
  3. Don't count the ducklings before they hatch? Especially in 2021? My goodness! Even a 2 score victory with the opponent not having the chance to win or tie on its last possession would be sweet. Big benefit for Right Coasters from the UCLA win. Game kicks off at 3:30 with UCLA/Utah bumped to 7:30. Instead of taking a nap I can get out for a pregame 18! (Which may or may not be a good thing?) Rough Up The Buffs!
  4. Another P5 job opens up. Kirby Holcutt is great at hiring HCs except for football. Chance for Graham Harrell to come home? But Sonny Dykes has to be high on the list. SMU might still be a good addition to the reconstituted B12? SMU, Memphis, Boise and San Diego State are all potential targets to take the B12 to 16 teams. Memphis would help Cincinnati, W VA and UCF geographically as Boise and SDS would help BYU. A B12 with these 16 teams would be deeper and better than the Pac-12 even without OK and TX. I continue to believe that it was an error for the Pac-12 to stand pat. The Pac-12 this season even with Clemson down is behind the ACC in both the FPI and SP+ rankings. The only Pac-12 team that has exceeded preseason expectations, Oregon has met same, is Oregon State.
  5. Great response. All good points. But I don't want this QB with a 2TD lead, throwing the ball late in the game rather than running the clock. It wasn't by a lot but Brown did outrush DTR and Charbonnet in this game. I especially did not like the 2nd call to throw into the end zone (at least by this QB, the WR was open on a good pass) after a pick of a ball inexplicably thrown into double coverage in the middle of the field. I salute AB as a game manager. Why take him out of this role when your up by 2 scores on the road late in the game? Why expect results different than those you have seen all season? I have chaffed at conservative play calling but deciding to open it up late on the road makes no sense to me?
  6. Excellent. But Oregon needs more in-conference competition.
  7. What did the students who decided to stay and compete have to say?
  8. Puzzling? This is not like Nick A's D having to hurry back of the field after a quick Ducks score. Ducks stop rate YTD is in the 80s. Stop rate = Opposing offense punts, turns the ball over, or turns the ball over on downs.
  9. Good call on The Civil War perhaps being the deciding game for the Pac-12N? Ducks remaining schedule is more difficult than is OR State's. Good year to get the Beavs in Autzen as Oregon State's 2Ls have both come on the road. At Purdue and at WA ST.
  10. Game day requirements for our 2021 BLD: bottle of extra strength Mylanta; bottle of Scotch (well aged like yours truly:) heart monitor; bottle of Prozac. bottle of oxygen; soft objects to throw at tube; myriad Anglo-Saxon onomatopoetic words at the ready; ref voodoo dolls; small dog to kick. No adolescents allowed! The Dye has been cast! We will cross the Rubicon, er, the Mississippi, to bear witness to Mario in Miami. Not as the coach of the U, but coaching Oregon on New Year's Eve in the Orange Bowl versus Georgia. Joey's 2001 team was screwed out of playing Miami. Twenty years later the Ducks make a run for the title beginning in Miami. 1.UGA 2.Oklahoma 3.Ohio State 4.DUCKS! For Navy Seals and Ducks Fans: No Easy Day.
  11. A strange destiny in a strange CFB season? But please Joe, help the cause and do not and for seemingly no reason, have AB chucking it around in the 4th Q on the road with a 2 TD lead. David, my optimism also comes from the quality of the opposition? This is not the B1G E or the SEC W.
  12. My answer to a situation that I hope does not develop: Lane Kiffin, with a bullet! Turned around FAU and has Ole Miss poised to go to a NY6 bowl in his second year in Oxford. Knows the west coast and the man can recruit.
  13. 1. Georgia - SEC vs 9 Iowa AL at 8 Michigan State AL - winterize those Big 10 stadiums 2. Cincinnati - AAC - vs 10 Ole Miss AL at 7 Oregon Pac-12 - chilly for the boys from Mississippi? 3. Oklahoma - B12 vs 11 Notre Dame AL at 6 Michigan AL - wake up the old rivalry echoes 4. Ohio State - Big 10 vs 12 Wake Forest ACC at Alabama AL - shocking that Bama gets the easiest 1st round game at home, right? Poll: 6 SEC teams / 5 B1G/ 4 B12/ 2 ACC/ 2 AAC / 2 IND/ 1 Pac-12/ 1 CUSA/ 1 Sun Belt/ 1 MW Ducks move up to 7 - No top 25 team at this date left on the schedule - Ohio State is ranked 5 with no wins over a top 25 opponent and with the same record as the Oregon team it lost to 1L Bama jumps undefeated Oklahoma - SEC has the highest ranked 1L and 2L teams. 1st Committee Rankings released on 11/2. IMO, no way that Cincinnati will be ranked #2. Cincy does have #19 SMU left on the schedule. 4 B12 teams ranked seems generous and really helps OK SOS. Oregon continues to have the best OOC win YTD. Cincy is 2nd with the win at 11 Notre Dame. If ND goes 12-0 and 'steals' a PO spot The Alliance should move to stop ND's most favored nation playoff status. When the Ducks plays conference game #9 at Utah, Bama will be playing NM State at home.
  14. Thank you Annie. I say that holding the Bruins rushing attack to 110 yards speaks for itself. 91 plays defended. 14 tackles for loss.
  15. Puddles straight armed Lee Corso. In your face Lee!
  16. 7 Penn State, 8 OK ST, 14 Coastal Carolina, 18 NC ST and 25 Purdue all lost to unranked opponents. THE US Military - Sleep Tight Tonight? The Infantry did its job putting up 426 rush yards. But that Army missile defense? Break out those bomb shelter plans. The Hoke was on Air Force. Navy, oh so close to taking down #2 Cincy but after converting a perfect on side kick why did you drop anchor? "No Easy Day" - Motto of the Navy Seals - And perfect motto for Ducks fans? 9 OTs - longest game in FBS history. Hats off to the CFB Powers That Be for putting the safety of the student-athlete 1st. Great coaching by Illini coach Bielema. Call your team a bunch of stiffs and they defeat #7 on the road? Does anyone want to win the Pac-12 S? Hats off to the Beavers! 2 Oregon teams down by 2 scores and both win! Please voters, sneak the Beavers into the top 25? Oregon should move up to 8? The UGA D shut out Bye Week. Bama's O is all that but the D? Kiff dissed the on his way out of Red Stick Coach O. In year 2, Kiff has Ole Miss looking at an NY6 bowl game. Next week's Michigan at Michigan State game can only help Puddles cause. As will Ohio State going 12-1 and winning the B1G. The game was against Pac-12N WAZZU, but if BYU defeats USC in game 12 shouldn't the Cougars at 5-0 vs the Pac, win the Pac-12 S? Always Say Dye! - 4 for 4 and an NCAA record. SWEET. No booing sayeth Mario? Easy, just blow out the Buffs from start to finish. I'm running out of Mylanta!
  17. Easy answer, Mario. Blow out a bad Buffs team from start to finish. Have the team reay to play with the same enthusiasm it showed in LA.
  18. You have a game manger QB who managed the game beautifully into the 4th Q. So, when you are ahead by 2 TDs and you have run well, you have shut down a rushing team's rush attack, why ask the guy to start throwing the ball? No comprende?
  19. I am a 12-1 optimist who is often on the verge of ostracism for offering objections of the O and mariO. I'll see all of you pessimists in the Orange Bowl.
  20. Excellent win on the road against a motivated Bruins team. Lee Corso. Puddles has changed phone #s and you ain't getting the new one! That was a fowl move to break up with Puddles on TV! I thought the policy was not to hurt any animal in the delivery of a media production? And to do it in front of one of the world's biggest gossips, Bill Walton? Just you wait Lee until the Ducks go 12-1 and Puddles refuses to speak to you before the Orange Bowl kicks off! Great recap Charles. The passing attack was opened up and Brown took advantage of a suspect UCLA secondary. Picking nits but it would be SO NICE if AB could toss an accurate deep ball? Mr. T led by example and the entire D stepped up. Of course it can never be easy with this team, right? The late TOs took us fans right down to UCLA's ultimate possession. What else did you expect? Next Saturday, please have CU fans ralphing from start to finish! Buff up the resume with a style-points win and not a cardiac arrest win. Give an old man a break!
  21. Remind me? What's Chip's record at UCLA/? The Ducks won because the D saved the day. This game should not have been close.
  22. Chicken? YES! Unis? How about NO. Charles, we need a prediction contest: How many 1 score games will we watch this season?
