  1. Point #1- pound the rock. This is a big ask. Georgia has been and I expect will be, great against the run. In one of Nix's games against Georgia, he was leading rusher. We need, as Mr. Fishduck pointed out, to get good use from our receivers, especially Seven. He and Hutson will present key mismatches to help move the chains. That in turn will help the run game. Georgia has a couple very good db's. This should be a very fun game for Dillingham and Lanning to game plan for. They think they know Nix, but Lanning knows them, and Dillingham will have some new tricks up his sleeve. The pressure is all on them to not just win, but dominate. I think it will be a very entertaining game. We will have so much to watch for, in game coaching, how are guys play, the defense, the offense, who steps up, etc. This is a game we all better record, cuz we gonna watch it over and over. Can't wait. Go Ducks!
  2. A.J. Abbott, a walk on qb who was with us last season has entered the portal. I have no idea if this is because of the 2 new walk-on qb's just added, or if they were added because they knew he was going. This leaves us with 3 scholarship QB's and 2 walk-ons.
  3. Just remember, Oregon is the team pundits love to hate. We are too threatening to all their favorite teams. Seems we are always dissed, or at least very often.
  4. Thanks for keeping it all safe Fishduck.
  5. It's a clear sign of an inferiority complex. When it's your first win in ages...you gotta show off. When you've been there before, you act a little more professional. The 'little brother' always talks big the one time they win. And this is as classy as Harbaugh gets.
  6. We have traveled many places over the last 15 years, the wife and I. We always wear Duck gear (even our suitcases are green with yellow ribbon). Every place we've been We get shout outs like 'go Ducks or someone shows an 'O'. Many states, even in the south, the Caribbean, Canada and of course Hawaii. Our beloved Ducks are international and truly loved!
  7. The problem isn't politics. It's how people respond. It's a lack of civility. I do agree that sports is an escape, but it also is a clear example of how great it is when people can come together over a commonality. I love wearing my Duck gear when we travel. We always get responses from people and 99% it's positive. Where else do you high five a total stranger with sheer joy! I wish we could be a little more like sport fans everyday. And I do love our "forum with decorum"
  8. These lists are way too hilarious. I'll bet the end results won't be even close. That kid at WSU is gonna put up good numbers. And hasn't Chip's qb been playing for like the whole time CK has been at UCLA?! He has to know the offense by now. Bet he has a good year. Bo should ignore this foolishness and concentrate on being all he can be. He still has to win the starting job anyway.
  9. Yes I feel good about this group. I would have been happy with Dollars and Cardwell. The others bring some experience and one true freshman. I expect they are all hungry to prove they're the one and that will push the whole group. With our experienced O-line, we could once again excel in the run game. Our 1st game though could be tough. Georgia is stout against the run.
  10. With these highly rated qb's, I can't help but think it ends up being all about the NIL $$. The standard has been set by so many schools of getting big pay days for these kids, a kid would have to have some serious love for the coaches and program to pass up a big payday.
  11. Mexico. On the northeast side. Some affordable areas, good medical too. If you plan on getting any social security $$, be sure to read all the rules if you move out of country.
  12. When a player leaves for the pro's before graduating, it counts against us. Maybe that's part of the issue, we send more to the NFL? Wait till the knuckleheads up north see this article, they will haunt us with it for months.
  13. Maybe I just like blue. I'm still wearing a Tennessee Titans Mariota jersey. 🤣
  14. I actually liked it. I know we lost that game, but I liked the fact we matched the state flag and original license plates. I own a jersey and a t-shirt as does the wife. Sorry, I'll try and be sure not to wear it around you Haywarduck. lol
  15. A great read. Thanks for sharing.
  16. More practice team bodies. He is a good get.
  17. For Bo to be in the conversation, the Ducks will have to be in the hunt for a playoff spot. That works for me!! I love June! We look so good on paper!
  18. Lanning is a smart guy. There must be a solid reason why we have 3 walk on qb's. Can't wait to find out the reason. One thing for sure, with the high cost of "recruiting" a blue-chip qb out of HS, we will see a lot of qb movement through the portal. 7 Pac-12 teams may start a new qb from the portal. It's a new day in college football.
  19. I hope Steele is right. Since MC first arrived our O-line was supposed to dominate. The reality was the lowest rushing yards in a decade! We certainly have loads of experience. I think they're all 5th year seniors too. Maturity counts for something. I like coach Klemm. He gives me confidence, like the O-line coach with CK. I love how Georgia is ranked just above us. That first game is really going to be a doozy! Yes, they have a big turnover. But their recruiting classes have been better then ours. What a start for our 1st year, 1st time head coach!
  20. What about kids who are held back for academic reasons? My best friend in hischool missed the 3rd grade because his parents took him out of country. As a result he turned 19 in August and wasn't allowed to play team sports. About "peaking" in hischool. Is that even possible? Wouldn't you continue to improve your game with practice? Seems like Tom Brady gets better every year. We thought most of last years seniors who tried for the draft could have benefited from another year. Maybe holding a kid back 1 year isn't such a horrible thing?
  21. Wow, first time I'm the contrarian here! I'm not sure I see the real problem with this. From my own experience, had I done this, I would have had a much more successful athletic career. Wouldn't have been D1, but wouldn't have lost my starting spot. Lol. I don't believe that muscle mass would be hugely different, but I guess it could be. Remember, hischool teams already have different ages playing together so I guess it depends how many years they are held back. Some kids are late bloomers. An extra year of development can be very helpful. As far as meddling parents go, it already is a problem and now with NIL it will become a serious issue IMO. Now it's not just about a good school, it's about making bank also.
  22. I don't understand why human right violations by Saudi Arabia are worse than China's. Or even our own. The NBA and most all others do lots of business with them and we still watch and follow our favorite teams. To be so high and mighty about this seems a bit childish and maybe an attempt to be "woke". The PGA's stance sounds like my kids fighting when they were 7 years old! "Fine, you can't play with my toys then"!
  23. Yes, and I like it that way. Let's stay under the radar for as long as possible. The 2 losses to Utah last year, losing Dye in transfer, a new starting qb,and a new coaching staff, makes for the rest of the country to think we have too much to overcome. The pressure is already on USC due to expectations. That sets up potential of a disappointing year for them. We can start out of the gate with nothing to lose, play loose, and have success. I like our chances.
  24. Our current coaches have said the same thing. The ideal TE is a guy who can block like an O-line men but have soft hands. Oh yeah, and be tall.
