  1. A good rule to live by: When in doubt, do nothing. I agree that Oregon should take a breath, step back and wait for the right opportunity. That doesn't mean sit idle. Focus on what they can control. Development of these men on and off the field. Become a better progr'm. Prepare for and enjoy the upcoming season. The stuff inside the hullahoop. I am convinced the perfect situation for OBD will present itself with in the next 12 months. Be prepared but build and enjoy what's in front of us. Season is 5 weeks away. It's going to be a blast. Ducks have a ton of talent and what I hope to be a great staff. Future looks great, let's not blow it up with knee-jerk reaction based on fear.
  2. Some guys just can't be the boss. Helfs not the only one. Mariø comes to mind.
  3. Great post. Let's get another great backfield tandem. Ducks have had great rushing in the past. Let's retire the "cloud of dust".
  4. Georgia football has 9 preseason All-SEC selections as voted by media 247SPORTS.COM .
  5. Helf was the OC when MM was a Duck. Gotta give Helf a ton of credit for what Marcus did. Helfrich is a good coach, just not a head coach.
  6. tOSU, Michigan, Wiss, Penn st, Mich St... makes USC, at best, 6 or 7th best team in the B1G. 7 losses and you are sitting at home in Dec.
  7. Just a thought, can Oregon negotiate its own TV deal? Or are they tied to Pac?
  8. Super helpful Charles. I usually consult Schoolhouse Rock. This will be way faster.
  9. On-field and off-field leadership is absolutely crucial. What give me confidence that strong leadership will emerge? Coach Love's comment about turning ownership of the team over to the players. Easy to underestimate that change of culture from the Micrø manager we had last year. Looking forward to how this plays out as 22 season progresses.
  10. 6'6" 358#, this kid could easily drop to 330# and gain strength. Would be a great addition to this talented Duck class.
  11. This is so dirty. See how this shakes out but if the B1G and SEC get their way I hope everyone outside shut their tv and streaming services down.
  12. No automatic bids for College Football Playoff? Greg Sankey sends message that should terrify anyone not in SEC, Big Ten SPORTS.YAHOO.COM A new College Football Playoff is coming, but the chances of every league not named the SEC or Big Ten making...
  13. As a rational human being in his right mind, of course not. As a Duck fanatic that bleeds green and yellow, heck yea I would blame him. However DL's tenure ends at the UO, as long as he is honest and forthright I am good.
  14. Jeez! This dude hasn't coached a game yet. Pump the brakes Paul. Let's see if the guy can coach before you belt out "Long live the King!".
  15. And JD picks up a 5th star. That should put us over USC in recruiting?
  16. Same article. Don't know why it wouldn't pull up for you. Sorry about that
  17. Chuck Norris has been busy. Other than that, I can't think of anyone else but Luther.
  18. I thought I heard or read recently that the coaching staff was in the process of turning leadership, ownership over to the players. Lines up with both articles from FishDuck. It's going to be a fun year for all Duck's. It's been a brutal off season for Duck Nation. Looking forward to seeing how this team transforms into a champion on and off the field.
  19. Why Are the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon? - The New York Times WWW.NYTIMES.COM Eugene, Ore., has spent more than a century evolving into “TrackTown.” On Friday, the World Athletics...
  20. I haven't said much on here about Webb's death. I think the most I said was "Dammit" and "Well done Mr. Webb". His death was tragic, his story is one of hope and inspiration. For every Spencer Webb out there, there's a thousand Colt Lyerla's. Also another great Duck TE. Also another tragedy. I sit here wondering which is more tragic. Both are sad for different reasons. Although Webb's story is short, it has tremendous power to touch people's lives. His story is one, if told, can change the trajectory of another trying to navigate out of troubled youth and broken home life. If it's only one that's enough IMO. His death is sad to me because he was so young. His life, on the other hand, makes tears well up for different reasons. They taste a little sweeter. It's why I simply posted "Well done Mr. Webb". I have to take others at their word when talking about Mr. Webb. I never met the man. Story is he rose above his station and pulled others up with him. He slayed the dragons yoked to him at a young age. Very difficult to do but very relatable to many of us. My hope is that one day someone will write the story of Colt overcoming tremendous odds. That he too will rise above his station, slay his dragons and lift others up. So again, Well done Mr. Webb. Your story made my life a little better. You lifted those around you. You were of service to others and you left us a little better than you found us. Rest in peace young man, thank you!
  21. Oregon has a guy that will make sure that doesn't happen.
