If only Luke Bellotti could get one more game of eligibility, Oklahoma might be worried about an onside kick.

I Can't Blame Any Recruits From Backing Off Their "Commitments"
Duck1984 replied to Steven A's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Coaches may not be as important as NILs are to LOIs these days. Recruits have to decide if they want to be on the NIKE naughty list this Christmas. -
Do you believe that Joe Morehead wasn’t capable of an offensive game plan to counter the same D approach he saw multiple times? I believe he checked out after missing the Stanford game. My question is when did Mario check out?

RAT POISON - HOW ABOUT EARLY SIGNING DAY?
Duck1984 replied to Jon Joseph's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Too hard to drop when high schoolers can graduate when their football season ends, and can enroll in the college Winter term. Nothing about coaching decisions, transfer portal registrations, or recruit shifting improves because of the date. Early signing may actually improve all measures, as it is better to know earlier than later. -
Would the Ducks have 3Ls if Thompson was the QB on opening day? Hard to say in either case, but we saw the poor game planning and in game coaching against Utah during the weeks that Miami boosters were hatching the plan to get Mario.

Fired Miami coach Manny Diaz says the situation has been mishandled for weeks: "I am disappointed in the University's decision and the manner in which this played out over the last few weeks," Diaz said in a statement. "The uncertainty impacted our team, our staff and their families -- these are real people that gave everything to this program. For that, for them, I hurt." Was Cristobal coaching with his mind elsewhere?

Three attempts at outsider coaches to bring a national championship to Oregon later, will Mr Nike conclude that it feels better when the Ducks have true Oregon men in charge?
-
Not many 5*s want to be told what to eat, when to sleep, or that making your bed will make you successful in football. Chip had his time at Oregon. But the next coach could certainly leverage the play analysis articles and videos on FishDuck’s site to resurrect some of the best offense in school history.
-
I might think about it for a few minutes longer, but am almost ready to wipe and flush the Cristobal.
-
Other Oregon lifers might include Rich Brooks, Nick Aliotti, Neal Zoumboukos, Steve Greatwood, Jimmy Radcliffe, Don Pelham, and Gary Campbell.
-
From CBS Sports: Cristobal is just 11-6 over his last 17 games at Oregon, and his offenses aren't exactly the most fan-friendly to watch. Cristobal's tenure ended with a 38-10 blowout loss to Utah in the 2021 Pac-12 Championship Game just two weeks after the Ducks were similarly dismantled by the Utes, 38-7 in Salt Lake City.

If Wilcox has proven that he can do more with less, can we expect that he can do more with more?
-
Is it safe to assume that lifelong friend Alex Mirabal will move back to Miami with Mario?

And the best players stayed to play for him.
-
No. Please ask the players. They get to decide where they want to play these days. The administration would be flying blind without consulting the players.

Makes sense for an Alabama high school quarterback to reconsider joining the Ducks after a coaching exodus. There is strong quarterback talent in the flock, and a new coach may bring some of his own.

If I am an offensive lineman, maybe? Defensive player? Hmmm. Offensive skill position player? Hard no.

Mario to Miami: The Plan Started in November
Duck1984 replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
“Mario is no longer a part of our program. We wish him well. We don’t judge.” Good enough for Pittman, good enough for Cristobal. -
Could he be our next offensive coordinator? Also an apt description of my golf game.
