BIG for Oregon Recruiting: Tosh Lupoi Will Join Oregon SOON!
Duck1984 replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Setting aside the negative tone of your question, Lupoi had a reputation for recruiting violations and coaching players to fake injuries to slow the Duck blur offense in the glory years. What makes it relevant is that greatness and weakness reveals itself early. In this case, ethics and character may be concerns. -

Does anybody else feel that Oregon has now fully gone to the dark side in the quest for college football dominance? -
Great that the young man has recovered. Not sure that he is game ready, if the game is played.

Not at practice could be Covid testing protocol, or grades. Are either likely to get much better before Wednesday? -

All that talent and only two conference championships in the past dozen years? Husky coaches seem to lack coaching prowess. -
Thank you Charles for the patience and editing when my observations on our favorite sport delve into religion or politics. While I tend to type what I observe without interjecting my opinions, I accept that certain subjects have to be avoided for the sake of civility. That said, my opinion is that MC was nothing more than a ego driven politician that preached loyalty sermons to his flock, then chased the almighty dollar to that hot humid place down South. Edit as needed.

Ohio State Doesn't Want all of their Rose Bowl Tickets

Ducks are playing a game Wednesday? I expected a cancellation announcement for lack of interest. -
I guess it doesn’t matter how it looks when your agent has cut your deal and you say you haven’t been talking to anyone other than your agent.

“And Oregon’s Bryan McClendon is replacing Rob Likens as the Canes’ receivers coach. Likens is UM’s offensive coordinator for the Dec. 31 Sun Bowl against Washington State.” Article

Good luck to Nate. Hopefully he makes a name for himself at Nevada. He was a good example of working through injuries at Oregon, but I don’t think anything else stands out.

Recruiting War: Lanning vs. Cristobal

For Miami fans a newly favored son is returning home as a savior for the new old U program. Maybe The Rock will play him in a movie someday? The Chrystal Ball? -
Recruiting War: Lanning vs. Cristobal
Duck1984 replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Lanning and his new team likely have plans to get the players they want, regardless of what Miami does. Uncle Phil has the juice to help Lanning, while Mario is dependent on less credible supporters and a soccer shoe company from Germany. How many Florida players want to hear about the old bullying U as opposed to the return of the high flying Ducks? We will see. -
Interesting perspective Charles. Some quick thoughts to consider: Is Morehead coaching this game for personal reasons, or did Uncle Phil persuade him that the NIKE money at Akron mattered? Both personal, but not the same. Will Morehead play AB? Sure, at least a little. How else will he lull the Oklahoma D to sleep then surprise them with explosion plays? Morehead had a serious health scare and packed it up to head homeward to Akron. Perfect place to play around with his offensive prowess without the pressure of winning anything. His reputation will come from what he does at Akron. Will that make a bit of difference to his retirement plan? Is Morehead proud of his quarterback recruiting at Oregon? If so, will he want to show it off at least a little in the Alamo? Those are my quick thoughts, but I may have more once I give it more time.

AB may get his chance to play Morehead’s way without the influence of Crist-O-ball-n-chain. This game may reveal what might have been. Besides, do you expect IC BMac to announce his true plans to Sooners?
