Something big happened on Twitter last night. Player’s parents and Lanning’s brother made passionate statements about the Duck football program and the potential coach.

Mike Bellotti: Why Not a One-Year Interim Coach?
Duck1984 replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Bellotti would make a great consultant to a new head coach. As the only Oregon HC that retired to become AD, then retired from college football, he is the ultimate Duck football ambassador. Unless Uncle Phil gives up his dream of a championship, the next Duck coaching staff will be a home run swing. Bellotti as a head coach again would only be a bunt. -
Looks good, but I haven’t seen it on the shelves at Costco or Fred Meyer in my area In Vancouver WA or Portland OR. I enjoy special beer at restaurants or pubs, or when I get gifts. But I mainly buy Miller for home.

What if Lanning is the second piece, and the first piece is coming later? Dabo?
-
If Lanning works out at Mario’s last salary, Uncle Phil could buy expensive OC and DC coaches. Maybe even Chip?

Remember who we play in our first game next year?

It pays to talk to Oregon.

Divide that by about 40.

Will he stay for the bowl game? There aren’t many coaches left, so the next coach better have a staff that will follow.
-
Would Morehead have agreed to stay and coach the bowl game without getting an assurance that he could run the offense? My guess is that AB will start out of respect, will be given plays that leverage his strengths, then be replaced by one of the young bucks at the end of the first quarter to finish the game. Morehead is a class act in my view. He accepted a back seat role without going public with his feelings.

Good Grief: No More False Reporting!
Duck1984 replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Ahhh. Makes sense. I may have missed the posts while catching up on The Blacklist with my wife while we had the house to ourselves for a couple hours. I appreciate humor and pranks, but appreciate the effort to separate fact from comedy. -
Good Grief: No More False Reporting!
Duck1984 replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Good on you Charles for recognizing and dealing with disingenuous information. We all have thoughts and opinions, but it is dishonest to represent them as facts. -
Given the same goal of winning, do college players want the chance for more plays? Or would they rather play fewer plays? Somebody smarter than me can confirm, but I recall Chip/Helfrich Duck teams had a goal of 90 offensive plays per game, and the defense had about 80. Cristobal teams seemed to struggle to get 60 offensive plays per game, but often managed more than 80 defensive plays. Is there any reason that an offensive player would want to play fewer plays?

Isn’t he in a court ordered plan for a year in Eugene for the airsoft incident with Hill?

4. Does it help recruiting if we don’t require a 1600 SAT score to play football at our school?

Can I smile after the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl in El Paso against the WaSt Cougs? -
His brother Eli’Jah is at USC. He has to take another look at his options. Best of luck to the young man.

Moorhead Hanging Around to Coach at the Alamo Bowl
Duck1984 replied to deschutesduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Joe explained at his first Akron press conference that his move started with his agent contacting Akron during the season. He made the decision on Akron to be two hours from family, and an hour away from his son playing college football. He said he left a few zeros off the end of his contract because family comes first. Joe went home. -
Moorhead Hanging Around to Coach at the Alamo Bowl
Duck1984 replied to deschutesduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Morehead announced that he was leaving prior to Mario’s decision. I also have not seen any reports of football coach terminations. While negotiations are always possible, I don’t see how Oregon is on the hook for any salary for coaches that walk. -
Didn’t Aranda beat ex-Oklahoma now USC Trojan coach Lincoln Riley this year, punctuated by a last second field goal to be sure that his team held the tie-breaker for the Big12 championship game? Game coaching matters.
