  1. Caleb was probably upset at blowing any shot at a Heisman repeat via his poor showings recently, most notably against Notre Dame. He also is likely frustrated with SC's pathetic defense and his O Line's inability to pass protect. He's getting hammered frequently. Thirdly, USC is out of the CFP, so no title shot for Caleb. I'm betting he plays in all remaining games.
  2. I didn't see any "BO" signs either. Why not? His stats were better than Penix last week.
  3. I am saddened that Bryan Addison has taken time off for personal reasons. I sincerely hope and pray that he is able to deal with whatever off-field issues have challenged him and will return to the line-up soon. He is blessed with incredible physical gifts. Given the quality and character of his teammates, he has a wonderful support group that is available to assist.
  4. Great point. The failure was caused by poor execution, not the play call.
  5. On the next to final drive, the Ducks made nothing on 3rd down and 4th down. That hurt. The worst coaching decision was not getting 3 right before the half. Lanning does so many things right that the mistakes get magnified. We zealous fans need to chill. I think the Ducks will run the table and redeem themselves against the Dawgs on a neutral field in Las Vegas. Keep the faith.
  6. An amazing finish to the season. PAC-12 Tournament Champions, Regional winners, and, oh so close, to going to Omaha. So much to be proud of for a wonderful group of young men. That said, Sunday's pitching performances were among the worst imaginable. I understand the injury situation to the front line staff, but the absolute inability by accomplished recruits to throw strikes proved fatal. 11 walks and 4 hit batters! 15 free passes made it impossible to compete. Hopefully Coach Was can get some new talent to come to Eugene.
  7. I regret seeing Ware leave. He demonstrated enormous talent during infrequent appearances and had the potential to be a huge asset for our Ducks. I have no clue about his off court attitude and that may have propelled him to depart. I believe that this under-performing and extraordinarily inconsistent team suggests Altman and his assistants had a sub-par year. Altman is a great Coach, but this year was very disappointing.
  8. Thank you Charles for providing this forum where we can sound off in a civil way about our beloved Ducks. We appreciate your hard work. Such a wonderful conclusion to a 10 win season. Happy New Year!
  9. Bo's return is truly great news on a variety of levels. Bo has proven himself to be an incredibly gifted athlete, but he is also a well grounded leader. His values, as demonstrated by his decision to stay for one more year, provide more evidence of that. One concern, however, is the injury factor. Should Bo be sidelined for a game or more, I would like to have Moore ready to go. I hope Dante considers that possibility, plus the benefits of being a Duck, before he bails on his commitment.
  10. There are a lot of schools that Moore could go to and likely make an immediate impact. Something may have been passed "under the table" in LA. I feel for the Coaches who still believe that "commit" means commit.
  11. Innovative yes, interesting to be sure. Fun to watch and listen to. His passing reminds us that every day is a gift.
  12. Though I am certain it was not your intention, your post gives all of us who read and occasionally contribute, a moment to reflect on the work that you do for us. Please know that you and your forum are greatly valued and appreciated. This site of civil discourse about our Ducks provides way to express our delights and infrequent dissatisfaction about "our beloved Ducks." Many thanks for all your endure. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
  13. Lanning is receiving much criticism for some fourth down calls. However, I think it was our completely porous defense in the 4th quarter that gave away the game. Had the D showed up just a little, the fourth and one calls would not have mattered. In fact, perhaps the thinking was our D can't stop anything, so we had better try anything to stay on offense.
  14. If Kenny Dillingham leaves for Arizona, how many of our players will pack it in and leave with him?
  15. Although Coach Lanning says there were many mistakes that caused the loss, none was bigger than the bad snap on our final long drive. We were running down the clock and running through the Huskies. The winning TD was in sight. Then the bad snap caused everything to change. Painful. That play and our continuing horrible pass defense allowed the Dawgs to win. Never should have happened. Please, not the Sun Bowl again.
  16. I would like to see Ty play with the first team offense and in a situation where we are trying to score. The plays called for him are not designed for him to succeed. If Bo goes down, I'm not certain what we'll have at QB.
  17. If Bo is the best we have, our Ducks are in for a long struggle.
  18. There is no better time to look to the future than against Eastern Washington. Play either Thompson or Butterfield because we all witnessed that Bo is not getting any better. It is time our "inexperienced" got experience. It can't get worse that last Saturday.
  19. Of course, the loss is not entirely Bo's fault. However, the Ducks need to look to the future and there is no time like the present. Thompson and Butterfield deserve a shot.
  20. Don't beat yourself up. Many of us Duck fans, based on what our coaches and players were saying, thought we would be competitive. The good news is that we can only get better! Getting better, in my opinion, begins with starting Ty Thompson against Eastern Washington. Nix has experience, but he has experience losing. Time to build.
  21. Hopefully the new hire will be a proven leader, not one who just checks the boxes.
  22. It seems that the team quit about 10 days ago ..... Not sure why, but this season was a huge disappointment
  23. The season long mystery of why no back-up QB got meaningful experience continued. It seems as if when Brown transferred he signed a contract guaranteeing that he would play every down unless he benched himself. Seems like a really nice young man, but he was just an average QB.
  24. When it mattered Brown was Brown. Why we didn't play the future in this game and several others remains a mystery. Such a sad way to end a season that seemed to have promise. Losing 3 out of 4 in blowout fashion to end the year suggests our confidence and swagger are lost. Can we get it back in the fall of '22?
  25. Brutal topic Charles. Our hearts are with the Ducks, but our minds lead us elsewhere. Since I don't want to pick our opponent, I'll sit out this contest. Whatever happens, thanks for managing FishDuck. Happy New Year!
