  1. Locking up Lanning is a no brainer.
  2. A right handed Randy Johnson…how did he do at St.Mary’s?
  3. And don’t forget Chad Cota. He made receivers pay for coming across the middle.
  4. Shelstad’s lazy pass, a bounce pass at a crucial time, was a grave miscue. Oregon was in position to possibly take the lead on that possession. It went downhill from there.
  5. In a previous life, in 1973, I was at Mac Court to shoot photos of the Ducks vs UCLA and, in a stroke of luck, was able to snap a photo of all 5 Ducks on the floor going for a loose ball - Ronnie Lee, Billy Ingram, Mark Barwig, Gerald Willett and Doug Little. All of them sprawled on the floor with Bill Walton lying on his back in the foreground. That photo, which is on display at Matt Knight Arena as a mural, epitomizes what the Kamikaze Kids were all about. What an exciting era to be a Duck fan.
  6. Great post. Just watched the second half…..and am appalled at the defensive effort. I’m guessing that 80 percent of Nebraska’s points after the half came in the paint and at the line. Atrocious defense. Shooting bricks didn’t help either.
  7. Kelly should and will be remembered as one of the greatest coaches in Oregon history.…..and he made the entire nation pay attention to Duck football. Chip’s 12 man comment may have rubbed Oregon fans the wrong way, but I don’t recall him ever saying anything else that might be construed as throwing shade on the Ducks. I’ll give him a pass in that one blip. Have there been others?
  8. The Michigan loss didn’t “mean nothing.” It meant everything. It showed that no matter who you’re playing you better be ready. I think it actually helped Ohio State to refocus, which it clearly did as it swept through the playoffs with nary a scare.
  9. I assume he was asked about the Oregon loss……and for Chip anyway, it was a pretty good line, drew a few smiles.
  10. Ragging on officials is part of basketball…..college and pro. Coaches are always looking for the “next call” to go their way. Just imagine how many 15 yard penalties would be called in football if coaches went ballistic on every call they didn’t agree with. Mick Cronin is pissed at his team, more than the officials. And it looks like he may be losing the locker room…..and possibly his job at season’s end.
  11. Is Franklin having issues other than the occasional drop? Like running the wrong route?
  12. Franklin should have caught that third down pass, no question about it……even though it was a little high he’s got to make that catch. But I wasn’t at all pleased with Bo’s reaction to it. Throwing his hands up and grabbing his helmet was not a good look.
  13. Is a cursory background check even a part of the recruiting process?
  14. I have never ever rooted for Ohio State and won’t start now…..especially since my grandson is a freshman at Michigan. Go Irish!
  15. First and goal at the one….and they decide to get cute. Stupid play calls. If Ewers knew how to take a snap they would have had 4 chances to sneak it in.
  16. At least we would not have been embarrassed. The Ducks will bounce back. If Moore turns out to be QB we all hope he’ll be, and the defense steps up, I expect the Ducks to have a legitimate shot at the playoffs next season.
  17. X’s and O’s……you’re right. Glaringly evident today.
  18. Well, his prediction was that the outcome would be lopsided, no matter who won. Turns out he was right.
  19. “Who cares what anyone says.” Totally agree. Just play the damn games! Oregon is fortunate that it has played consistently well all season. The same can’t be said about Ohio State, which laid a giant egg in their rivalry game against an average Michigan team and was limited to 10 points…..at home! A real stinker. Any team, at any time, can by victimized by a lackluster performance, no matter the circumstances. Oregon, fortunately, has avoided that. The Ducks, after a less than impressive start in September, have played better than anyone in the country, and they deserve to be ranked No. 1. If they play up to their standards, limit penalties, and get a little luck along the way, they definitely can win it all. GO DUCKS! ……..Happy Holidays to all!
  20. Dillingham DID come in last.
  21. You’re right ….it wasn’t trash talk at all. Someone, for reasons unknown, chose to label it that in the posting. He didn’t say anything that any other QB might also have said.
  22. The pass rush will be key. If Howard has time to stand back there and look around Jeremiah Smith will burn us. He’s a great route runner and catches everything. His running mate isn’t bad either.
  23. Who cares? Win the games, prove them wrong. Then we can gloat! Beat Ohio State and our chances skyrocket.
