  1. It’s a new world, and I don’t see it changing……for the better. I’ve sounded off before about the hypocrisy of the student athlete tag, and the ridiculousness of it has never been more apparent. Top players are looking for the best opportunity to make it to the LEAGUE, and maybe fatten up their bank account in the process. A college degree is not their main priority. And, yes, the revolving door of players coming and going is here to stay. This is the new landscape college of football. And as long as Oregon operates with integrity and within the rules, I will be pulling for the Ducks.
  2. Moga is a true dual threat QB. Would hate to lose him. A QB who can make or extend a play with his legs, like Nix and Gabriel, is invaluable. Does Moore have that ability?
  3. “Picking Shough over Purdy went against what we have always been” Not sure I understand that. If you’re saying the Ducks should have chosen Purdy over Shough, well of course you would be right……in hindsight. But keep in mind that the entire NFL overlooked Purdy, the very last pick in the draft. They missed on him, too. Purdy doesn’t have the strongest arm and he is not particularly fast, but he is probably more composed than most of the first round QB’s that were chosen before him. He does not get rattled. Purdy played 4 years at Iowa State. He was DEVELOPED there, and even though the NFL didn’t appreciate what that could mean in leading a team, it’s pretty clear his experience was key. I would love for the Ducks to get a QB and “develop” him, but I fear those days are gone. If you can keep the same starter for 2 years, you’re doing about as well as can be expected.
  4. I was upset when he chose to leave. He was very raw, talent wise, but his enthusiasm and hustle was unmatched. And he was always first off the bench to congratulate a teammate after making a good play. I’m not sure why he left, but a team can always use a player like that, even in a limited role.
  5. I see Huskies at No. 2 and Oregon No. 8? Maybe I’m seeing a different MSN poll.
  6. Agreed. Developing QB’s is likely a thing of the past, especially among those schools whose collectives have the necessary cash to spread around.
  7. I am not renewing my season tickets, which seem to be going up in price every year, a trend that of course will continue. And then you’ve got required DAF contribution. I just no longer can justify the expense. When you also factor in the cost of travel - I live in Ashland - you’ve got gas, meals, and the expense of 2 nights hotel if you choose to make a weekend of it. And parking in the lot makes no sense, unless you want to spend 45 minutes or more jockeying to get out after the game. But after going to the Pac-12 championship game last week in Vegas, I decided to watch it on TV when I got home. While it was so much fun being there, I actually realized I missed a lot. On TV, you get great background info, replays galore, sideline views, injury reports (I didn’t pick up that Burch left and never returned), and so much more. Yes, I know, they are two entirely different experiences, and both enjoyable. I will be at the Ohio State game next season for sure and probably a couple more. But no more buying season tickets to watch cupcakes like Portland State and Hawaii visit Autzen. Can’t justify it.
  8. Saban vs DeBoer won’t happen unless Alabama beats Michigan and Washington beats Texas.
  9. I know it's just a highlight reel, so we're not going to see any picks, or even incompletions, but this kid has decent wheels, throws a nice ball, and has great touch on intermediate and deep throws. Time to open the checkbook.
  10. This is such a great site and we have Charles to thank for that. We “speak” to each other in a civil manner, which results in a discourse that is more substantive than the maniacal rants on other ungoverned sites. I love my Ducks, and am disappointed that we lost to the Huskies, for the second time, but they were the better team. They out-schemed us and out performed us. No question about it. And the outcome of Friday’s game might have been lopsided had Ferguson not made two incredible circus catches for TD’s. I will be rooting for the Huskies against Texas when they face their former coach. I always root for the Pac-12. Always.
  11. It wouldn’t shock me if Bo decides to play, though it might not be the best business decision. I just think he’ll want to finish on a high note and stick with his teammates one last time.
  12. I’m multi-tasking, too. Watching football…..and reading the Thursday Murder Club. Great way to spend an afternoon.
  13. The rules are specific and very clear. No gray area. Charles has been very consistent in enforcing them. That’s what makes this site so great. READ THE RULES!
  14. Tons of tickets are still available on Ticketmaster, one of which is mine, even after a couple of price reductions.
  15. 64+ teams play in March Madness and every year there are surprising upsets. With a 12 team college football playoff there will also be some shockers…..just makes it all the more fun….and interesting.
  16. How did Jonathan Smith lie? I’m not on Twitter, or X, but if he in fact made those comments, he was telling the truth, not lying. And when he commented to Canzano that his agent was checking things out, wasn’t that the truth?
  17. I would like to help but I'm binge watching Bosch Legacy right now.
  18. If Bama beats Georgia, what does that mean for one loss Texas, which beat Alabama? Will the selection committee show any love for the Pac-12…..as it crumbles and dies?
  19. Daniels’ numbers are phenomenal. But…….if Nix has a great game AND the Ducks beat Washington on Friday, I think Bo wins it. His phenomenal TD pass to Franklin against the Beavs, a 60-yard across the body rainbow, was a “wow” moment that may in the end be the difference. A Heisman moment to be sure.
