  1. Players will occasionally have bad games….it happens, in all sports. Coaches do, too. For Waz to allow a pitcher to walk in 4 runs, and allow another on a hit batsmen, and not yank him, is a complete scratcher.
  2. RJ struggling with command…..he’s all over the place. Unless that changes, he’ll be yanked soon. Hard to be effective when you’re constantly pitching behind in the count.
  3. Agreed……James and Whittington just may prove to be one of the most productive running back duos in college football this fall. And Harris showed potential in the Spring Game……for what that’s worth. But James…..he’s due for a breakout season.
  4. Oops! Didn’t mean to hit send just yet on the above post. It’s sad to see the program descend into mediocrity, while playing in half filled Jane Sanders Stadium, one of the best ballparks in the country. I don’t think that would have happened had the Ducks extended White.
  5. I can’t fault White for leaving. At $625,000 per year his salary ranks 2nd in the nation, behind Oklahoma’s Patty Gasso, who just led the Sooners to their 4th straight national title.
  6. “I will always root against him.” Why? Because he left? Had Oregon stepped up and paid him, he would be coaching the Ducks today……and contending for the post season every year.
  7. As someone who rarely pays much attention to the announcers, especially those calling basketball, primarily because of the speed of the game, I would tend to turn up the volume when Walton was working. The word salad that came out of his mouth was truly astonishing, often eye rolling, and rarely had anything to do with basketball. And to think this guy once had a serious stuttering problem. He could be annoying, for sure, but I find most announcers tend to share the same trait. (Except Vin Scully of course). And I agree, one “Walton” was enough…..but I’ll still miss him.
  8. No full rides for baseball?? Had no idea.
  9. I would definitely give the nod to Moore over Novasad for backup QB, simply because he is more mobile. Both have excellent arms. The job is Gabriel’s. He’s got big game experience, can make all the throws, and the guy can really run. He’s not a big guy, only 5-11 or so, but his size clearly hasn’t hampered him much thus far.
  10. Kim’s efforts and dedication to this board will be missed. She’s irreplaceable. The hours she spent making this board so enjoyable for the rest of us is just another example of her “giving back,” something she did throughout her life.
  11. Scheffler’s caddie has made more than McIlroy this year…..
  12. We sorely miss Campbell. He can recruit. Graves obviously can’t.
  13. But you get out of your seat for SHOUT, right?
  14. The Ducks played scared down the stretch, stopped moving, frankly looked discombobulated. They made a couple of plays at the end……and escaped. Forget this one. On to Wazoo.
  15. Bruno Mars and Beyoncé was perhaps the best halftime show ever, but most were pretty much unwatchable.
  16. Totally agree Annie. The NFL — and especially the Super Bowl — is more than anything, entertainment. The cameras will zoom in on anything that might appeal to the audience, which for this game will NOT just include football fans. If they want to show Taylor Swift for a total of less than 2 minutes, which is typical, what’s the big deal?
  17. Favorite sports…..in order: Football, Men’s Basketball, Volleyball, Softball, Baseball, Track, Women’s Basketball, Tennis and Golf (which, justifiably, rarely if ever appear here.) Note: I love women’s basketball, just not the Ducks right now. The UConn-Notre Dame game was the one of the highlights of yesterday’s women’s slate, and the day before South Carolina’s win at LSU was an instant classic,
  18. None of these comments surprise me, surely not the ones posted here. Just imagine if, perish the thought, that Tez opted to transfer to Washington. This board would go nuts……just like it did, (thank god!) when Cristobal bolted for Miami.
  19. I’m pulling for the Ravens……and I think they’ll win, with the home field advantage, and Lamar (even against Mahomes) being the difference. Plus, it could possibly set up a rematch against the Niners in the Super Bowl.
  20. “ Not obstruct the view too much.” For what we’re paying for season tickets, I don’t want my view obstructed at all.
  21. It’s not just the portal. It’s the portal and NIL. The portal originally was mostly loaded with players, who either had not lived up to expectations, or were not getting the playing time they had expected. Now NIL money has gotten so attractive that players who are perfectly happy where they are, are entering the portal to shop around for more cash. The game has changed…..and something needs to be done. But what? Hell if I know. (Jon……jump in any time)
  22. It could possibly be Michigan State writing a bigger check than the Ducks.
  23. DeBoer will be set for life with his new contract, even if he flames out at Alabama. I don’t know what he was making at UDUB, but they hired him from Fresno State, so it obviously paled in comparison to what he is guaranteed with his new deal. Good move for him.
