  1. Is this a big loss? The timing seems unfortunate, though the ‘25 class seems pretty much set.
  2. The numbers don’t appear to be impressive…..high ERA, and control issues, the latter of which was a glaring issue for the Ducks during the tournament. And he was pitching in the West Coast Conference, not the Pac-12. That said, the Ducks obviously saw some potential.
  3. I like it. It will be much easier to watch on TV, which was the main problem. I found it far less annoying when watching a game in person.
  4. I have a photo, prominently displayed in my den, of all five Kamikaze Kids splayed on the floor going for a loose ball against UCLA….. with Bill Walton flat on his back in the foreground at Mac Court in 1973. l took that picture 51 years ago, just a lucky shot.
  5. First big league game I ever saw…..Opening Day, 1958, Giants shut out the Dodgers at Seals Stadium in both teams’ debut on the west coast. And Willie drove in 2 runs.
  6. Stein is very impressive. I hope he sticks around for awhile.
  7. Ok, what am I missing? Ferguson, Conerly….portal?
  8. Players will occasionally have bad games….it happens, in all sports. Coaches do, too. For Waz to allow a pitcher to walk in 4 runs, and allow another on a hit batsmen, and not yank him, is a complete scratcher.
  9. RJ struggling with command…..he’s all over the place. Unless that changes, he’ll be yanked soon. Hard to be effective when you’re constantly pitching behind in the count.
  10. Agreed……James and Whittington just may prove to be one of the most productive running back duos in college football this fall. And Harris showed potential in the Spring Game……for what that’s worth. But James…..he’s due for a breakout season.
  11. Oops! Didn’t mean to hit send just yet on the above post. It’s sad to see the program descend into mediocrity, while playing in half filled Jane Sanders Stadium, one of the best ballparks in the country. I don’t think that would have happened had the Ducks extended White.
  12. I can’t fault White for leaving. At $625,000 per year his salary ranks 2nd in the nation, behind Oklahoma’s Patty Gasso, who just led the Sooners to their 4th straight national title.
  13. “I will always root against him.” Why? Because he left? Had Oregon stepped up and paid him, he would be coaching the Ducks today……and contending for the post season every year.
  14. As someone who rarely pays much attention to the announcers, especially those calling basketball, primarily because of the speed of the game, I would tend to turn up the volume when Walton was working. The word salad that came out of his mouth was truly astonishing, often eye rolling, and rarely had anything to do with basketball. And to think this guy once had a serious stuttering problem. He could be annoying, for sure, but I find most announcers tend to share the same trait. (Except Vin Scully of course). And I agree, one “Walton” was enough…..but I’ll still miss him.
  15. No full rides for baseball?? Had no idea.
  16. I would definitely give the nod to Moore over Novasad for backup QB, simply because he is more mobile. Both have excellent arms. The job is Gabriel’s. He’s got big game experience, can make all the throws, and the guy can really run. He’s not a big guy, only 5-11 or so, but his size clearly hasn’t hampered him much thus far.
  17. Kim’s efforts and dedication to this board will be missed. She’s irreplaceable. The hours she spent making this board so enjoyable for the rest of us is just another example of her “giving back,” something she did throughout her life.
  18. Scheffler’s caddie has made more than McIlroy this year…..
  19. We sorely miss Campbell. He can recruit. Graves obviously can’t.
  20. But you get out of your seat for SHOUT, right?
  21. The Ducks played scared down the stretch, stopped moving, frankly looked discombobulated. They made a couple of plays at the end……and escaped. Forget this one. On to Wazoo.
  22. Bruno Mars and Beyoncé was perhaps the best halftime show ever, but most were pretty much unwatchable.
