Strawberry Canyon……Berkeley. What a great setting. A couple of problems, though. Memorial Stadium sucks…….and the team usually does too.

Agreed……..and Lowe is really coming on now, and Holden is back, too. But Tez is special, and it will a significant loss if the injury keeps him out for an extended period.

Wait…..are you saying Boise State, a team that just struggled to beat UNLV, would beat Ohio State?

I’m pulling for Penn State for 2 reasons: 1) I ALWAYS root against Ohio State. 2) Beating a good team twice in a row can be a challenge….. even more so on a neutral field.

Agree on Camp Randall…..that’s the game I’m most concerned about. A very tough place to play and from here on out Oregon will have target on its back. Going undefeated is a great goal, and the Ducks have a shot, but there is a lot of football left.

And on the defensive side, let’s not forget they gave up 49 points….. to Purdue, a team that we shut out on their home field.

I think what Klatt said is right on. It just makes the Ducks’ win all the more impressive.

If I had a Heisman vote today, it would go to Jeanty.

The Wisconsin game scares me more than Michigan. The crowd is far more raucous there than at The Big House.

Good call Charles. Very impressive performance......and I loved how he refused to go down as he danced along the sideline against the hapless Buckeye defender.

And who’s to say who will win the rematch if it occurs? So many crazy things can happen in a football game. Oregon won this time, at home, a huge advantage, and Charles pointed out how it actually could’ve been a lopsided Ducks victory. Does that mean the Ducks will win the rematch on a neutral field? Who knows? Can they? Of course they can. They can also lose. You gotta play the game.

I think it comes off as hollow and insincere, as if it was composed by the PR department.

I disagree…….in my opinion, spitting in someone’s face is worse than throwing a punch and should be treated more severely.

Cartm25, I could not agree with you more. When I read Holden’s apology statement it was very upsetting, to the point of being borderline disgusted by it. I don’t know who wrote it, and I certainly hope Holden contributed to it, in some way, but I have my doubts. Let him speak for himself. If I had done what Holden did, I might have started my statement with something like this…..”I was an idiot and totally overreacted. No excuses. I sincerely apologize and understand that whatever punishment comes my way I deserve……etc.

On that no call interception why didn’t Dan Lanning call for a review? Was he ever asked about that?

Rob Oller, columnist for the Columbus Dispatch, was not going with Buckeyes’ party line. Said Oller, “The Buckeyes tried not to blame anyone but themselves for losing a great game, and this was that, and deserves to be characterized as a classic, not a woulda, shoulda. Oregon was better, period. Ohio State was worse, period.”

Gabriel is a ridiculously accurate passer. He's been off target maybe a couple of times in 3 games. And a couple of his incomplete passes should have been caught. So, the key to the Ducks' success going forward hinges on the play of the offensive line...... protect Gabriel and the Ducks will be playoff bound.

Well, at the risk of alienating the FishDuck masses, I am actually a fan of Canzano. I subscribe and read his column every day, without fail. Do I agree with every one of his viewpoints? Of course not. When he takes shots at the Ducks do I always agree? Not always, but sometimes. Does he lean toward the Beavers? I’d say yes. But I’m still a fan of his column.

I thought we would drop further. The voters must like us. The Ducks have not been impressive, especially as the pre-season third ranked team in the country. A statement win, on the road, against Oregon State would be a great boost for the program. But I’m nervous. Are you?

Could not agree more. Oregon is not a top ten team……at least not right now. The rankings will reflect that in a day or so. Maybe they’ll get there, but it looks like a long shot at this point. Tez and Whittington bailed Oregon out today, saved the Ducks from another loss to a Boise State team the Ducks had not beaten in the teams’ previous 4 meetings. And Oregon State, on the road, looms next!

I certainly hope you’re right….. about the wake up call. Boise State is coming to town next week and a performance like today’s will be disastrous.
