  1. Cartm25, I could not agree with you more. When I read Holden’s apology statement it was very upsetting, to the point of being borderline disgusted by it. I don’t know who wrote it, and I certainly hope Holden contributed to it, in some way, but I have my doubts. Let him speak for himself. If I had done what Holden did, I might have started my statement with something like this…..”I was an idiot and totally overreacted. No excuses. I sincerely apologize and understand that whatever punishment comes my way I deserve……etc.
  2. On that no call interception why didn’t Dan Lanning call for a review? Was he ever asked about that?
  3. Rob Oller, columnist for the Columbus Dispatch, was not going with Buckeyes’ party line. Said Oller, “The Buckeyes tried not to blame anyone but themselves for losing a great game, and this was that, and deserves to be characterized as a classic, not a woulda, shoulda. Oregon was better, period. Ohio State was worse, period.”
  4. Gabriel is a ridiculously accurate passer. He's been off target maybe a couple of times in 3 games. And a couple of his incomplete passes should have been caught. So, the key to the Ducks' success going forward hinges on the play of the offensive line...... protect Gabriel and the Ducks will be playoff bound.
  5. Well, at the risk of alienating the FishDuck masses, I am actually a fan of Canzano. I subscribe and read his column every day, without fail. Do I agree with every one of his viewpoints? Of course not. When he takes shots at the Ducks do I always agree? Not always, but sometimes. Does he lean toward the Beavers? I’d say yes. But I’m still a fan of his column.
  6. Love this combo……now let’s just play up to the level of our Unis!
  7. I thought we would drop further. The voters must like us. The Ducks have not been impressive, especially as the pre-season third ranked team in the country. A statement win, on the road, against Oregon State would be a great boost for the program. But I’m nervous. Are you?
  8. Could not agree more. Oregon is not a top ten team……at least not right now. The rankings will reflect that in a day or so. Maybe they’ll get there, but it looks like a long shot at this point. Tez and Whittington bailed Oregon out today, saved the Ducks from another loss to a Boise State team the Ducks had not beaten in the teams’ previous 4 meetings. And Oregon State, on the road, looms next!
  9. I certainly hope you’re right….. about the wake up call. Boise State is coming to town next week and a performance like today’s will be disastrous.
  10. I was very impressed with Gabriel’s accuracy and composure. I think the lack of downfield completions was largely due to protection issues. The offensive line did not show up tonight…. for Gabriel, or for our running backs. Gabriel was so rushed that be often zeroed in on just one receiver, and Idaho likely picked up on that. He just didn’t have enough time to survey the field. Evan Stewart is regarded as a deep threat. I don’t recall him even being targeted.
  11. YouTube TV is the best. And the BIG network is included.
  12. Expecting Tez to have a monster year.....
  13. RIP Tina…..
  14. Is this a big loss? The timing seems unfortunate, though the ‘25 class seems pretty much set.
  15. The numbers don’t appear to be impressive…..high ERA, and control issues, the latter of which was a glaring issue for the Ducks during the tournament. And he was pitching in the West Coast Conference, not the Pac-12. That said, the Ducks obviously saw some potential.
  16. I like it. It will be much easier to watch on TV, which was the main problem. I found it far less annoying when watching a game in person.
  17. I have a photo, prominently displayed in my den, of all five Kamikaze Kids splayed on the floor going for a loose ball against UCLA….. with Bill Walton flat on his back in the foreground at Mac Court in 1973. l took that picture 51 years ago, just a lucky shot.
  18. First big league game I ever saw…..Opening Day, 1958, Giants shut out the Dodgers at Seals Stadium in both teams’ debut on the west coast. And Willie drove in 2 runs.
  19. Stein is very impressive. I hope he sticks around for awhile.
  20. Ok, what am I missing? Ferguson, Conerly….portal?
  21. Players will occasionally have bad games….it happens, in all sports. Coaches do, too. For Waz to allow a pitcher to walk in 4 runs, and allow another on a hit batsmen, and not yank him, is a complete scratcher.
  22. RJ struggling with command…..he’s all over the place. Unless that changes, he’ll be yanked soon. Hard to be effective when you’re constantly pitching behind in the count.
  23. Agreed……James and Whittington just may prove to be one of the most productive running back duos in college football this fall. And Harris showed potential in the Spring Game……for what that’s worth. But James…..he’s due for a breakout season.
