We can throw stats all day the fact remains Bo was sacked 17 times as a freshman, was their leading rusher in two games. Their number one rusher gained 4.9 yds per carry. If that’s great O line play then I’m missing something. The point is was making is he is our best option for the start of the season. Unless some miracle happens and Butters flashes brilliance in the next couple weeks.

If Bo can get back to who he was as a freshman he will be good enough to go undefeated in the pack. He lost 3 games that year to Florida, LSU, And Georgia, all three were top 10 teams. Two of those games were one score games. LSU were champions that year and had one of the best college QBs in modern times as Auburn came closest to beating LSU that year, 3 points. He did loose to 18th ranked Minn. in a meaningless bowl game and now days I give little weight to bowl games unless they are the big ones. His next 2 years Auburn turned into a hot mess. Coaching staff had some turn around which we all know can be hard for a team to fight thru no matter who is QB. If you watch film Bo spent much of his time running for his life because of poor offensive line play which is hard to throw accurate balls from and shouldn’t be the problem at Oregon. I have confidence that Bo will do well at Georgia and he gives us our best and only chance to win an extremely difficult game. He’s been there before against better teams so I expect him to play well. He has an advantage with a head coach that knows Georgia’s defense as well as anyone and an OC that will be throwing new rankles that the Dogs have not witnessed. The Ducks have enough talent to make Bo’s job a little easier than when he was at Auburn. As far as a leash who knows.

Thanks for the article. At the spring game I thought Butters was the clear number 2. Nix did have a couple long throws that were impressive but Butters looked poised and ready to go. I hope we can hang on to all 3 to start the season but that may not be the case.

Ranking NCAA Football Top 10 Offensive Lines
Just Ducky replied to Tandaian's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I still think the winner of that game will be the one that has the best qb performance and who wins the turnover battle. Can’t wait. -
Do your talking with your play and the scoreboard. Nothing else matters. Get up, hand the ball to the ref, leave the trash talking to the NBA because that’s where it belongs. If you are trash talking then you are not concentrating on the task at hand. Don’t let the other side get in your head.

Canzano: ESPN Shut Out of Big Ten? If True, Great for the Pac-12
Just Ducky replied to NJDuck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I’m not seeing anything about streaming services such as Amazon, or many others getting involved in NCAA football and basketball. Amazon could be a huge player if they so choose. They could use these sporting events to launder their extremely large amounts of cash. Not to mention the fact that the other sports networks might tend to negotiate with bigger payouts or be left behind. Any thoughts on this one? -
If the coaches can get all the pieces to play their positions correctly then I think more IPAs are in our future Charles. The talent and experience is definitely there. I agree this might be the best defense Oregon has ever run out on the field. Stay healthy and I think we will be in for a treat. Bring on the Beer.

Mario Cristobal--When the Knives Come Out
Just Ducky replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Thanks for the article but along with Annie my focus is on DL, his staff, and the players and their families. It’s the start of fall practice and I am looking forward to watching our new age Ducks hit the field. I have spent a lot of time bad mouthing Mari no O and his football I Q the last few months which he richly deserved. I’d like to say I won’t do it again but I’m sure I will the first time he looses a game. His recruiting genius, line of BS he sold to the parents of his recruits, and the way he dumped on them was inexcusable behavior and in my eyes can never be accepted. Can you imagine Mike Leach coaching Miami with that talent? Kind of scary don’t you think! -
In 2022...Do Cheerleader Photos Inspire or Offend?
Just Ducky replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Just a little history for you all. Don Essig, who some of you probably know, was my sixth grade teacher. He took us on a field trip down to see the Beavs and Terry Baker play. The biggest thing about that trip for me was seeing the cheerleaders line up in two lines and the opposing team ran out while the yell squad was screaming “Fee Fi Fo Fum where the hell did you come from”. Still can’t get that out of my memory banks. Don was a member of the Beavs cheer squad While attending OS back in the sixties. Don’s family owned a farm on the top of the hill in Oregon City which is where Oregon City High School now sits. Don became the voice at Autzen Stadium for all football games. Funny how small the world really is. Never could figure out How a Beavs cheer leader could become the voice of the Ducks, maybe Charles can straighten me out on that. My point is how a cheerleader has had a huge impact on anyone that has attended a game at Autzen and most probably don know he was a cheerleader. And a beaver cheerleader at that. Crazy. Go s -
In 2022...Do Cheerleader Photos Inspire or Offend?
Just Ducky replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
The answer is inspire. A home game is a great atmosphere and our young men and women on the cheer squad help bring that out with the great job they do to enrich the experience before and during the game. Heck, I married 2 cheerleaders, one for 47 years, and it was something they both loved to do. My Grandaughter is a high school cheer leader and a model and wants to do the same next year in college. She just had a photo shoot that took most of the day with over 1000 shots and she loved it. Her face was a little numb from smiling all day however. Don’t think any of these girls give or gave much of a thought about being photographed in awkward positions. It’s all part of it. If the girls don’t mind then I certainly don’t, it’s part of the experience. -
Regarding Bo Nix: Beware ‘Bandwagon Buy-In’
Just Ducky replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I’ve watched a fair amount of Bo Nix film and it seemed to me the pocket around him collapsed pretty fast. He was running for his life most of the time. It was genius for DL to bring in Bo to face the Dogs rather than throwing our two young guns to the Wolves, I mean Dogs, for their first college start in a hostile environment. Bo has seen this many times so he is their best option out of the gate. If he doesn’t get the job done a loss to Georgia isn’t going to ruin the Ducks season. What a great way to start the new guy against Eastern Washington at home before a date with BYU. I may be reaching to high to think Bo will change but I have confidence that he can win in the pack. He did beat Alabama once and how many QBs are 500 against That group. A large portion of his losses are against highly ranked teams and Auburn has struggled with coaching changes his whole career so at least he has a familiar face in Dillingham. I will drinkthe Kool-Aid on this one. -
Who Leads the 2022 Ducks in Touchdowns?
Just Ducky replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
In this new offense I am convinced we will see more misdirection with the usage of the tight ends standing in the end zone wide open cause no one picked them up. Would be fun to watch. -
It’s pretty amazing to me that the biggest athletic event, in history, in any sport in the state of Oregon just happened and our results on the national stage have not kept up. We have the best facilities possibly in the world. Hopefully a new staff can turn it around. I would think a quality track program would have jumped at the chance to steal some of the nations best that participated at the event and performed at these facilities. If we don’t accomplish this then I will wonder where our track program is headed. Hopefully Phil’s money was not wasted because Mullins did not look ahead. This is one sport that the Ducks should dominate no matter where we land because of football.

How Did the Ducks Baseball Compare to Elite Teams
Just Ducky replied to Tandaian's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Let’s face it, baseball is all about pitching and we were a little shy on that one to compete with the big boys. Improve that aspect of our roster and winning will become much easier. -
Very sad. Watched him and Wilt go at it many times. A great all around player.

There will be plenty of opportunity to pick up solid running backs, or anything else for that matter, in the portal next season. I’m with Mistertea on this one. Would have been nice to pluck this kid out from under mc’s nose however.

USC Killed Previous PAC-12 Expansion Efforts

Reminds me of our last coach -
I blame mc for our injury plagued season last year. When you have a conservative offense you don’t get a big enough lead to get your starters off the field in the second half of games. Defensive players were on the field entirely too much and when tired players become weak players injuries occur as we all saw last season. Another negative impact is your backups don’t get the developmental reps that they need to compete in the upcoming season. I am confident that this will not be the case with our new coaching staff.
