Agree 100% that we wouldn't want him hurt, but I was talking about easy runs. Potato defense was effective because they figured out that DG wouldn't run. That's a major weakness our next potato opponent will no doubt exploit even more. That said, despite the disappointing outcome, I am very glad that we won without any major injuries. Unlike the opponents which were dropping like flies every few minutes. So may DL did work our guys a bit hard, but it did pay off in that regard.

O-line play, sacks and QB play go hand in hand. Any one failing will make the other two look bad. DG needs to get rid of the ball quickly and run when he needs to. That will make the O line look better and reduce sacks. 3 sacks against FCS team is really alarming.

Yes, our O-Line was the weakest link, but I think our QB play could have been better if he had been willing to move to get yardage. There were many plays where the field in front of him was wide open and yet he chose to throw a check down. Even the TV announcer said it. DG is supposed to be a mobile QB, but didn't show much of it yesterday. This will have to change starting next week against a much tougher potato, or we are done.

I only watched the first half because TU was clearly in command. But QB1 Mensah was really impressive, much more poised than TT ever was. The 3rd team ESPN commentators (which were terrible but right about this one) kept saying that they could see why TU went with Mensah. It's just a bummer that TT never developed in college. Good thing we didn't need him that much, except for the last couple of games of 2022 season...

Yeah, this hurts for that kid, but that's the reality of a competitive sport. Maybe also shows Tulane could be good again this year. Go Green Waves!

I know you should never, but maybe OBD could look to the potatoes of next week - BSU is definitely a bigger threat! We will be watching ND-aTm primarily at the 4:30PM slot. My daughter graduated a Domer, so we no longer hate them, LOL. This game will determine the future of both teams this year.

The article didn't read like the usual biased a**hole that Rick is. His comments were actually very measured and respectful as he did give a lot of credits to the staff and effort for OBD's recruiting success. But sure it's nice to be in a position of envy for a change, a far cry from the 80s and early 90s...

OBD has definitely come a long way since the 90s, but still couldn't get over the Natty hump. I think the most disappointing was the 2014-15 year when our only Heisman winner in history couldn't beat tOSU's 3rd-string. I bet that's still stuck in a lot of people's minds. Think about it - it's the same reason why Notre Dame is always highly rated even though they haven't been elite for a while - coz they did win a bunch of Nattys in the past. Going all the way will definitely push us over that perception hump. Let's all hope this is the year, or it will happen soon.
