  1. BB definitely got the raw deal when he was here. I am surprised that he is transferring as I thought he was very well accepted at VT and has played well, up to his skill level. His throws are still wobbly as heck, but he runs well. Personally, I am wondering if MC didn't play TT because he was trying to avoid the same mistake with BB... If true, that means these recruiting ratings hold way too much water. BB was a 4-star, so was Shough.
  2. Oh no. I must admit that other than that one game in 2019, I haven't watched BN play at all. But again, if TT or others can't beat BN to start, then we really do have a QB problem.
  3. Yes, very entertaining indeed. I watched the 58 seconds and got bored so I changed channel yesterday.... Misery loves company, so I am glad also struggled against a team from that state!
  4. Just like the FB uniform we wore in our last blowout loss and against UCLA. I personally hate it coz it looks dirty from the get-go. Same with this ugly floor. But am not surprised some people like it, especially Nike...
  5. Agree with everyone here about the concern for the 3 youngsters we already have, specially Butterfield and Ashford. Well, at least Nix seems to be more capable than AB...
  6. Yes, I hope the thumb will be healthy, whoever the QB may be this time...
  7. Well, going by his track record, we are due for a game with good AB. So maybe the score won't be 38-10 OU?
  8. I will be watching for sure. Herbert does turn it up at prime time. Mahones and Chiefs are fun to watch too. Relaxing Ducks FB game for a change...
  9. Agree with everyone here. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up 1-2 to open the season, maybe finishing 8-4 if lucky... Lots of unknown now with this program.
  10. Not convinced that will make enuf diff, if he still relies on AB and AB is still the only QB fully grasping his schemes. Relieved somewhat that both will be gone next season.
  11. You nailed it - both Pittman and Marios are now bygones. There may be lessons to learn for the new coaches and players, but not much more for us speculators.
  12. While some similarities exist between ACC and Pac12, such as neither gets much respect, comparing Oregon to Clemson is premature. Clemson was consistently good enough to beat Bama. I don't think we are there yet. Even if we somehow limped to the CFP this year, the result would look ugly in the first round. We just haven't had the right combo of coaching and talent in the same year to make it, since the 2015 class. To win a Natty, we have to set our sights higher and aim at teams like UGA and Bama. If we can beat them, we ought to be able to play consistently enough to beat the rest of Pac12, even an improved USC.
  13. I hope both Verdell and Dye come back. Honestly, I am not sure how high their draft stock is now. Does anyone have insight on that? Seems to me both will benefit from another year under a better HC.
  14. I don't think he would accept due to our prowess, or lack thereof...
  15. Amen to this. Look no further than Utes. They played like a bunch of 5-star recruits to me! No. 101 for SC is shocking indeed. Thanks for sharing Jon.
  16. "Yet, compared to other options, the Ducks could do so much better than this." Not sure they "want" us to hire him, from this... Or is it a negative psych. thing? LOL, we are all turning into conspiracy theorists!
  17. Great point, Jon. However, I still think that's more of a reflection on MC (or maybe Morehead's overly complex schemes) than Ty, so I hope... I have mixed feeling about Nix, who is clearly better than AB, but not sure if he is worth losing some of our young talents. I hope Lanning makes the right call.
  18. Also remember that we are probably at the bottom of a U curve now in terms of the impact of this coaching shake-up on recruiting. I would expect Lanning and the new OC to bring some of their recruits to UO as well, either via new signing or transferring... Don't panic yet, my fellow Duck fans!
  19. “Justin is the guy coaching at Cal. We’re going to kick his a-- the next time we play him and he didn’t want the job. So who cares?” nuff said about Wilcox turning us down...
  20. Totally agree. But nobody says the grade can't change... Based on everything we know so far, I would give B+, for youth, coaching excellence and recruiting reputation. But the lack of HC exp and PNW connection are big ? If he lands a good OC and manages to savage our 2022 class, then I will upgrade it to A-. If he delivers next season and leads us to back to Pac-12 champ, then I will happily hand him an A. If playoff, then A+.
  21. As long as we keep winning these like against tOSU, in a few years, we will get to dictate the terms. But as of now, it's a minor miracle that GA is willing to risk their pristine season record to play us...
  22. So the school is paying the 80M huh, not private donors? Even UO faculty would protest once a new HC is hired and the pay is disclosed. But at least they should know that the money comes from uncle Phil...
  23. That's what rumor mills do - nothing. I have given up guessing. I think we will know soon who is the new HC... Fingers crossed.
  24. Chris Peterson all the way, as long as he is no longer burnt out. The other local guys like Wilcox or Chip don't have the winning records or currently relevant skills to take us back to CFP. The splashy guys are going to be short-timers for sure. Not sure that's best for Oregon. But again, we live in a different time and have to move with it too.
