  1. These kids will run the gamut of being responsible with NIL funds to help set up their future, to squandering monies amongst their posse, and wonder what happened to all their friends when the funds run out. Potential lawsuits definitely deter any organization that tries to provide oversight. Sports fans want the sports they love to be sheltered from disputes over money that changes the game. Way too late for that…conference realignment, player disputes, and all other problems that the pursuit of money creates are here to stay.
  2. I-5 south traffic from PDX to Eugene on any Friday afternoon is bad…add game day traffic…and it will be a parking lot. Late games are definitely for TV viewers. I travel from PDX for games. Late kick offs are fine, but a steady diet of late games gets old fast if you have to travel.
  3. Need healthy bodies. Less experienced players will need to fill gaps. Not sure what the injury entails, but even a meniscus tear can weaken ligaments in the knee, which makes it susceptible to further injury.
  4. Where did I leave my notes from Econ Class?
  5. I think an injury and weight issues kept him sidelined last year. He arrived weighing 225, and he has shed weight. Not sure about his current status, but everyone wants to play, be good to see if his 5* rating is legit at this level.
  6. No doubt that the offense has receiving talent. Unfortunately, that talent could not been fully utilized because of other issues. The next two games DG needs a clean pocket to finally get in sync with them. I would love to get tape that shows DG making throws to all areas of the field. Need opponents to respect those capabilities. I will be optimistic that UCLA, and MSU, are the perfect games for the team to continue an upward trajectory.
  7. USC. united state conference. Required to have state in your college name.
  8. Perhaps USC should blame their inability to stop a 90 yard game winning drive with a few minutes left on the clock, by a team that had virtually no passing game. In the end, the refs may have won a close game against USC. I loved it.
  9. They can barely fill their stadium. While that is not a prerequisite to a qualifying berth, you still need alumni support to be competitive on the national stage. Perhaps they can qualify if every bounce of the ball goes there way in the new PAC, but as stated earlier, they would just be a lower seed against a top team. The realignment carousel is still spinning, and money wise the new PAC will be competing for media dollars with the big boy conferences. Outlook for a media contract that pays all the bills is going to be a stretch.
  10. The Huskers “couged” it.
  11. I submit my idea for a trophy. The Cascadia Trophy (cascadia can be defined as a bioregion…land of falling waters) The sculpture depicts a 40 lbs. chinook salmon. A classy connection to the Pacific Northwest…one of the many fisheries/industries in the region. I would rather win this than a bronze sculpture of a 🐷.
  12. It is unusual to have a record last as long as Ronnie Lee’s. However, he is by far the overall leader of career field goal attempts by over 480. Ronnie Lee and Greg Ballard are in the top 5 scorers of all time at Oregon. (Played together)
  13. Boettcher is a great story. There are always guys who practice well, but for whatever reason their play does not elevate on game day. Reacting to what you see is such a big part of the game. Finding the guys who react quickly, and are mostly correct, is not an exact science.
  14. Not really a viable rivalry when the game means nothing. In conference it was meaningful because of standings, or bowl implications. For the most part, their season was a success if they beat the Ducks. Now, they are just that annoying pothole on the drive home…I will hit it only if there is no other alternative.
  15. The portal is a recruiting tool. Some coaches are better at using it than others.
  16. Great picture. Is that Ed Dickson after his TD catch on 4th down? The students had piled out of the stands to rush the field. You can see them on the sidelines. That is the year we had to win out after losing a shoot out with Stanford for a Rose Bowl berth. Masoli then ended the rodents bid for an upset by trucking the DB on 4th down to ice game. Won the last two games by a total of 7 points. Great memories.
  17. So many great games. The pick started the ball rolling for me in football. 1999 never ending 3 OT win at home against USC in 1999. The come from behind win at home against Oklahoma and Adrian Peterson was fun. A questionable onside kick is recovered and the Ducks pull out the comeback win 34 - 33. Kenyon Barner rushes for 321 yards against USC at the Coliseum.
  18. Duke’s in Lake Oswego is another good one…
  19. Hey everyone, we got to try on the newest safety gear from ODOT.
  20. Two other downtown choices: Fields Bar and Grill and The Independent bar and grill. Depends on the crowd you want to hang with.
  21. I think the Duck club goes to Birdie Time Pub 925 SE Main Street They “host” a watch party for a lot of the games.
