Watching Other FBS Games This Week: Thoughts?
DrJacksPlaidPants replied to kirklandduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
This prediction had more to do with Dabo than UGA. The Dawgs will always be good because Kirby is willing to consistently improve. Dabo refuses to embrace the portal, so he’s going to get left behind. -

At least Dan got 6 points against UGA as a rookie head coach. -

Watching Other FBS Games This Week: Thoughts?
DrJacksPlaidPants replied to kirklandduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I have a feeling this will be a 3+ TD win for Kirby. In fact, I would be surprised if Clemson scores 14 points. I really like Dabo, but he loves to tout his past record. Just ask Tyler from Spartanburg. CFB is a “What have you done for me lately” business and Kirby is constantly improving. You don’t see him turn his nose up at the transfer portal like Dabo does. If anybody is wondering who Tyler from Spartanburg is, he’s a dude who called into Dabo’s radio show and criticized his 4-4 record last year after week 8. Dabo went on to chastise him for being part of the problem because he expected too much from the future instead of appreciating the past. Tyler from Spartanburg is also a cult hero because Clemson rattled off 5 straight wins after his criticism. -

I watched Western Carolina take it to NC State for a couple of quarters before running out of steam. The ACC is going to be in rough shape this season if Mario doesn’t beat the Gators tomorrow. He may be their only hope of a decent team. We all know Clemson will get steamrolled tomorrow. -
Comcast Test: Were They Honest?
DrJacksPlaidPants replied to Grandpa Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
The same thing happened last year with Spectrum Cable refusing to broadcast ESPN. Of course, they went off the air just as the Utah/Florida game was about to start. Spectrum lost a ton of customers that weekend according to the lady who helped us cancel our cable service. We did keep their internet service. It’s fast and there aren’t many options in my neck of the woods. Also, it was ESPN who moved the goalposts and charged Spectrum huge rates to carry their channels. ESPN knew that the start of football season was the best time to Jack up their rates. The B1G is basically doing the same thing to Comcast. They’re telling the cable companies “Either pay our prices or your customers will find another way to watch our channels”. -
Great Question: Who Would YOU Sit Next To?
DrJacksPlaidPants replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I only sit in aisle seats so that narrows it down to 4. Row 5 is out because I would probably not be good ant making eye contact with the young lady next to me and also James Franklin would be across the aisle and he annoys me. Row 3 is out because I would be between two of the most fake coaches in the country. Row 1 is out because Lincoln Riley. So, that leaves seat 2D. I could bum beers from Gundy across the aisle and then talk trash to Sark about his record vs. Oregon. Win/win. -
What's Your Least Favorite Sports Cliche(s)?
DrJacksPlaidPants replied to a topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Pretty much anything Helfrich said after each loss in 2016. However, “That’s on me as the head coach” was the worst. -
I started using TobigoTv because it will play on any computer or smart device (TV, phone). I just pay $17/month for my subscription and they send me the login instructions. I use the IPTV Smarters Pro app to play their content. It works really good with my Spectrum cable internet. Below is a sample of some of the sports channels I get (all in 4K). I also get every NFL, MLB, NHL game along with over 200 ESPN+ channels which are great for the off chance you want to see a Big Sky or Ivy League game. Oh, and I also get all PPV fights for free.

I pay $14/month for IPTV. You just need an app that can support the channel list that your streaming service provides you. For example, I use Real Streams. They sent me my login information and instructions for which apps support their content. I just put it into the IPTV Smarters Pro app which is available on the Google Play Store. It’s very easy to use.

QUACKKK, Tradarian Ball Chooses Ducks
DrJacksPlaidPants replied to Steven A's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I don’t. That dude ditched the Ducks for Texas A&M. -
I expect this to happen many more times. Word on the street is Brame will flip to Tennessee as well. It’s all part of the game we call “recruiting”. Good thing DL has been very successful in the transfer portal. 4-star DL Josiah Sharma flips his commitment from Oregon Ducks DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The Oregon Ducks saw 4-star defensive lineman Josiah Sharma flip his commitment on Thursday night.

I’ve only been to three of these stadiums (LSU, Autzen, App State), but I think they got most of them right. I don’t necessarily agree with the rank order, but these stadiums stand out for one reason or another whether it be noise, beauty, tradition, etc. BTW, Autzen was by far the best atmosphere. I went to LSU during the Curly Hallman era. It was loud until Danny Wuerffel and the Gators ran up 58 straight points on them. It’s still a beautiful venue with great tailgating and a tiger enclosure outside the gates. App State is absolutely beautiful with regard to its surroundings, but the crowd is pretty dull unless they’re playing Marshall or Coastal. The home side of their stadium gets shade in the afternoon which might be great in early September. However, I was there on a clear November day when it was in the 20’s. That shade ran off most of their home fans by the 2nd half as it was in the single digits on their side of the stadium. On a side note, I think that Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, SC should’ve been on this list. They’re not a great team, but their stadium is always packed and rowdy no matter their record. I also love Sandstorm, the white towels, their Odyssey 2001 entrance and rooster crow on 3rd downs. It’s definitely an atmosphere worth experiencing. Generation - O "Gang Green" Uniform
DrJacksPlaidPants replied to Babyjesus615's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I have to admit that I thought the front profile pictures made them look a little Baylorish at first glance. However, Baylor has more of a forest green color and their yellow is kind of dull. In fact, their entire color scheme is kind of dull like North Dakota St. -
I saw this today and thought how hard it must have been to rank the top 100 pro athletes since the year 2000. After reading through the list a few things came to mind. 1. There were too many race car drivers. Sorry, but they’re not athletes. My MIL still drives fast and she’s 90. 2. There were not enough MMA fighters. In fact, the female fighters were totally left off. Amanda Nuñez and Rhonda Rousey carried many a PPV event by themselves because of their skill. 3. How in the world do you leave off Ashton Eaton? Only three people in history have been deemed “World’s Greatest Athlete” in two straight Olympic Games and he’s the only one to do it in the last 40 years. Anyway, these are my personal opinions. I would be interested in seeing all of your opinions on this list. Ranking the top 100 professional athletes since 2000 - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM Who tops our list of the top athletes since 2000? Cam Newton Ranks Dak Prescott Over Justin Herbert
DrJacksPlaidPants replied to Smith72's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Cam Newton was comparing stats from each QB’s first 4 years. Dak had slightly more impressive stats than Herbert, but he was also rewarded with a record contract at that time because the Cowboys felt he had a bright future in Dallas. Now, the Chargers feel Herbert has a bright future in LA, so they gave him a record contract. Both are good QB’s, but Herbert is younger. Dallas won’t pay Dak what Herbert got paid because he’s older and has had a serious lower leg injury that still affects his mobility. I will even go as far to say if Dak doesn’t at least make it to the NFC Championship game Jerry will let him walk and he’ll get snatched up by NYG or the Saints. I don’t have a problem with what Cam said because he favors the veteran with a few more years under him. However, he’s not an owner or a GM who has to secure his team’s future while he can. -
The PAC 12 website has removed everything but Beavis and Coug stuff. It’s somewhat pathetic and sad.
