  1. If Dilly leaves then I would suspect that Bo would leave for the NFL. His time at Auburn wasn’t good because of their propensity to play “musical OC’s”. I don’t think he would be up for having his 4th in 5 years.
  2. I think a good topic of discussion would be the amount of touches Dye would get if he had stayed. Lanning doesn’t seem to care about what guys did before he got there (see Cardwell). My guess is dye would be used more as a receiving back.and he wouldn’t get many carries.
  3. It’s funny you mention that. Go to StateoftheU or Canesinsight and you will see several comments about getting rid of “the guy with the mustache”. Many of them think he’s just a regular coach and not the SC coach. They just know he’s always on TV.
  4. New Chip may make us hate old Chip if he starts going for it on 4th down and converting 2-point conversions on extra points.
  5. I listened to Jerry Allen yesterday on ESPNU Radio getting interviewed by Bobby Carpenter. He had an interesting take on the UGA game. He seemed to think that if they hadn’t gotten humbled they may not have realized how hard they need to work and listen to DL and his staff. He said that DL probably told them if they wanted to be as good as UGA then they need to follow his process and really buy into improving.
  6. They’re just getting a NFL education. It’s the same thing they’ll deal with at the next level. The difference in pay between the stars and the special teams guys is vast. It’s also why most of the younger guys blow everything they make. They want to keep up with the big boys with regard to status symbols like houses, cars, etc.
  7. He’s sending a message to his team. Don’t count on anything or anybody else to help you win the game. You have to perform at a high level or you will lose.
  8. Who you got? I’m going with Dan Fouts. Chargers and Falcons both play on Sunday so MM8 and Herbert are out.
  9. It’s definitely the best option. MSU@Bama is off the table since they both lost. OSU lost so they can’t go to Stillwater. The only other good option is TCU/KSU since it has Big 12 championship implications. However, there’s nothing like kicking the show off while it’s still dark.
  10. I live in the South. It was 78 today, but it will be 50’s by Wednesday. I’m hearing there will be a 100% chance of weather by Saturday.
  11. I hate to say it, but USC the most talented team in the conference.
  12. UCLA just broke the 5 digit barrier in attendance for their last game. If that’s not a resurgence then I don’t know what is.
  13. Adam Stack was the top rated kicker and an All American Bowl selection. He never panned out. Kickers are hit and miss, so I never put much stock in their ratings. I remember the FSU Kicker (Aguayo) who never missed in college and was drafted in the 2nd round by Tampa. He got the “Jimmy legs” and was cut after his first season. The Duck’s best kickers in the past decade have been walk-on’s.
  14. This is an interesting take and very accurate. MC’s grade is a solid D. App State scored 40 points in the 4th quarter on Carolina and Miami could only muster 24 at home. Let’s not forget that App State is a 3 loss team. So is MTSU for that matter. He’s borderline F material. I agree with a B+ so far for DL. Only because Oregon hasn’t played and beaten anybody who is currently ranked. BYU and WSU were OK, but both have a couple of losses. You think Brent Venables has it bad at Oklahoma? What about Mario Cristobal at Miami? SPORTS.YAHOO.COM One huge difference between Venables and Cristobal, having awful first seasons at OU and Miami: Venables was never a head coach. Cristobal? Far less of an excuse. @Ducks_Wire
  15. If there was ever a reason for 4 SEC teams in the playoff, that would be the scenario.
  16. I was talking about UCLA. I’ve made my opinion known on Oregon’s chances. The committee will not look favorably at losing to top competition by 7 TD’s + 2 safety’s. They will say the Ducks had their chance and blew it. Here’s the other problem. Oregon would need to beat an undefeated USC. However, by doing that, they only will have beaten a 2-loss UCLA and a 3-loss Utah. Both of those teams would be ranked outside the top 20 by then. No real help for getting into the top 4. BYU has even fallen out of the top 25 and they have no real good chance to climb back in.
  17. The USC/Utah loser will drop. USC would drop out of the top 10 and Utah would drop out of the top 15 or 20. They need USC to be undefeated when they play them.
  18. I just read an article about USC being snubbed by College Gameday this week. What was interesting was they mentioned that CG wouldn’t even go to Michigan this week for the Penn St. game (4 vs10) because Fox’s Big Noon Saturday was going to be there. They were both on site for Texas/Bama, but maybe it was too difficult and they didn’t want to do it again. Anyway, despite the fact that Fox is carrying Oregon/UCLA, Big Noon Saturday will be at Ohio State. So, there’s still a chance even though I know they hate starting their show at 6:00 AM.
  19. I think a good way to look at this is ask yourself “Is this a gripe or is this a critique”? I don’t think gripes about players are a good idea. Critiques are fine and they help to increase everybody’s knowledge. For example, instead of saying something like “Bridges stinks. He can’t cover anybody”, just say why he can’t cover anybody. Maybe he gets caught peeking into the backfield or has problems locating the ball. The first two of the three benign comments are gripes. The third one could be phrased better, but it sounds like a critique of TT’s throwing and decision making. Second-guessing coaching decisions is as old as the game itself. I think it’s fine as long as there is no name calling. However, I would give any A&M fan a free pass after Jimbo’s final play call against Bama on Saturday.
