Ruh-Roh! Saban Just Made it WORSE
DrJacksPlaidPants replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Two weeks maximum. Then we’re changing the locks. -

Here is my double-secret bonus take. Pete Carroll to Bama. He can pay his players these day and the NCAA will leave him alone.
-
I think the NFL would suit DeBoer better than college. He’s not good at recruiting but he knows how to develop talent and identity free agents that fit his system. Seattle has obviously had good luck with a college coach, so they might kick the tires.

It’s funny you mention Sark. When this story broke today on SXM’s College Sports channel, Chris Doering was saying that he would be very surprised if Sark and Lanning considered the Bama job since their current programs have everything they need to win.
-
Imagine if he goes to Alabama and loses to UGA in next year’s regular season game and then a couple of SEC championship games in the following years and then gets fired. Kirby would be the guy who made him and then destroyed him in the span of 5 seasons.

Something about DL tells me that he knows he would be absolutely screwing Oregon by not only leaving after year two, but also leaving in January after his entire team is signed/retained.
-
One more thing to consider. How many boosters does DL have to answer to? I think he’s got it pretty good here with just PK.

Bama doesn’t have a great history with coaches from the state of Washington. Report: Price 'too drunk' to recall club events WWW.ESPN.COM Mike Price was fired by Alabama on Saturday for failing to live his 'personal and professional life in a manner consistent with university policies.' Price's behavior apparently included two trips...

Question for all. How long will Dan Lanning last at Bama if he loses to Kirby 3 times in a row?
-
I look at the Bama job the same way I look at a NFL job. A coach will have 4 years tops to win big or he’s gone. It’s not like Saban pulled a Belichik and started losing. This team is already built for a national championship and they will be expecting one the first year.

I just heard it on the SXM college sports station. Apparently, a person named Nick Low broke the story.

DeBoer will have to start winning with his own recruits at some point. I think this team only had a couple of starters who weren’t Petersen/Lake recruits. -

Sadly for the Fuskies, I think they would’ve lost to a number of SEC and B1G teams tonight. Maybe even a healthy FSU. -

I predict Harbaugh is going to the NFL for two reasons. 1) He’s probably going to get punished for his nefarious actions. 2) He can’t stand the thought of only having a NCAA championship when Pete Carroll has both a NCAA championship and Super Bowl championship. -

Washington had one TD drive and it was on a fairly short field after a failed 4th down attempt by Michigan. -
