  1. UGA is the class of the nation so far. Of course, things could change in a neutral field.
  2. Yes. I was there. It was the Zen bow that negated that sack and led to a TD for Arizona.
  3. Here’s how college football works now. If a team who isn’t supposed to be competing for championships starts competing for championships then those who think they should be competing for championships (but aren’t currently competing for championships) will spend buttloads of $$$ to poach their coach so that they can then…compete for championships. However, if the championship caliber teams who aren’t supposed to be competing for championships want to continue competing for championships then they must also spend buttloads of $$$ to keep their coach from getting poached by those who think that they should be competing for championships (but aren’t currently competing for championships).
  4. I love this rivalry. My buddy from around the corner has a daughter currently at CCU and she is one of the sideline photographers. His oldest son graduated from App St. so there is a nice family rivalry. My daughter wants to go to App, so we took her up there last year for a game. It’s a beautiful campus with a great vibe. The only thing that sucks is they always play each other during the week.
  5. I know we have the contest for the Oregon vs. Colorado game, but I think it would be interesting to see what you all think about the other games of significance. I’ve only chosen 4 different games because they’re either significant to us as Duck fans or the national rankings. Here are the 4 match-ups with my picks. UGA vs. Tennessee - I have UGA. They’re at home and the Vols haven’t played a defense like theirs yet. LSU vs. Bama - The Tide wins big despite playing in BR. Saban will thoroughly out-coach Brian Kelly. Miami vs. FSU - Hard Rock will be filled with garnet and gold. However, MC will jump all over the Noles and have them right where he wants them……then blow it. Fuskies vs. Beavis - Fuskies haven’t lost at home. It’s going to stay that way after tomorrow night.
  6. I think if Dillingham stays then he’ll be a lock to stick with Oregon. If he gets hired away then Moore might be a little more open to suggestion.
  7. Yella Wood is doing really well with the housing boom. Jimmy Rane has a lot of money to burn.
  8. I know DL will likely not leave after this year, but he is being mentioned for the Auburn job more and more these past few days. Most recently, this morning on ESPNU Radio on SXM. Now, the hosts didn’t think he would leave, but they also thought it could be a way to get a good contract extension. It’s a typical ploy by agents to link their clients to jobs, so that they might get a better contract. One thing that was brought up was that WHEN he leaves it will be to a much bigger job like Bama or Clemson. Most experts believe that Oregon is not a destination school because of coaches pay and recruiting resources (less travel to recruit). I can’t say I disagree with them. However, if Oregon wants to be taken seriously then they need to start opening their checkbook to the tune of 8 figures per year. That’s nothing to these big time SEC schools. They know it’s required to stay competitive.
  9. They wore these in the PAC 12 championship game last year. They don’t bring back great memories.
  10. Gonzaga is a Jesuit university. The Pac 12 doesn’t have basketball-only schools nor does it have schools with religious affiliations. So, Gonzaga to the Pac 12 doesn’t make any sense to me.
  11. There are a bunch of regional games on both networks. Unfortunately, in my region I get the Panthers and they’re playing on the same network (Fox) and time slot as Atlanta. I will also get Bills/Jets on CBS. You guys out West will likely get the Chargers on Fox and Bills or Raiders on CBS.
  12. Well, Bama needs a top 10 win to stay within reach of the final 4. That’s how the SEC works. They get favorable rankings for their middle and top tier teams, so that wins look great and losses don’t look as bad. In my line of work, we call that a “self-licking ice cream cone”.
  13. I don’t know if Cota will play but it looks like he’ll be OK.
  14. It’s happening next Sunday. Do you pick a side? I’ll be pulling for Herbert to get the win.
  15. I went to the USC game yesterday. Spencer Rattler looked totally inept. His reads were horrible. He would have man coverage with a stacked box and still hand it off for a loss. I’m glad the Ducks ended up with the #2 QB out of that class. On a side note, Gamecock fans can get pretty loud. They just can’t sustain that level of excitement throughout an entire game. They’re good for a series then they wait until 3rd and long to get loud again. They do have a cool chicken statue, though.
  16. The Pac-12 better lock this guy into a contract before somebody else gets him.
  17. I don’t blame Wilcox one bit. It’s kind of hard to call defensive plays and call out adjustments when your own fans refuse to keep the noise down.
  18. The fact that OSU didn’t have one penalty against Texas seemed a bit odd.
  19. If Dilly leaves then I would suspect that Bo would leave for the NFL. His time at Auburn wasn’t good because of their propensity to play “musical OC’s”. I don’t think he would be up for having his 4th in 5 years.
  20. I think a good topic of discussion would be the amount of touches Dye would get if he had stayed. Lanning doesn’t seem to care about what guys did before he got there (see Cardwell). My guess is dye would be used more as a receiving back.and he wouldn’t get many carries.
  21. It’s funny you mention that. Go to StateoftheU or Canesinsight and you will see several comments about getting rid of “the guy with the mustache”. Many of them think he’s just a regular coach and not the SC coach. They just know he’s always on TV.
