  1. I’m pretty sure Fisch will be in Seattle for a while. Florida will target a guy with SEC experience who is also a great recruiter. Fortunately, there’s a guy down in Orlando named Gus Malzahn who fits the bill perfectly. He has established recruiting relationships in Florida as well as the rest of SEC country. Gus was able to last at Auburn for quite a while, so he knows how to deal with dysfunctional boosters and administrators. The question is will he want to go through that again?
  2. This has been going around on social media and the MSU game is a “wear yellow” game.
  3. $1 says he ends up in Corvallis. Seriously though, I was listening to Dusty Dvoracek this morning and he said he would never let Bear anywhere near his locker room if he were a HC. That's saying something coming from a guy like Dusty. He was known to start a public donnybrook or two back in his day.
  4. Every now and then a coach happens into a transcendent QB who overshadows his shortcomings. Great coaches can ride a great QB to multiple championships (see Walsh, Landry, Noll, Belichik, et al). Outstanding coaches can win multiple championships with different QB’s (see Gibbs, Parcels and Seifert).
  5. With a trip to the Rose Bowl, the 2008 Oregon State Beavers set the foundation for the program’s fut……never mind.
  6. Is Blake Toppmeyer a pseudonym used by Charles Fischer?
  7. That might work with some schools or collectives like UNLV. However, I think agents, players, etc. would be very wary of burning bridges with a company like Nike before they even start their pro careers.
  8. Should be a great crowd. What else is there to do for college students in Los Angeles on a Saturday night at 8:00?
  9. I said before that this is some Game of Thrones level behavior from the Pig 2. Ask for help from the Mountain West, agree to an alliance of sorts, and then run your sword across their neck. I wouldn’t expect anything less.
  10. Utah State is in. Only one more team to add and they get to be a real conference.
  11. Former Duck Dontae Thornton with the big TD reception for a TD. Iamalaeva reminds me of 2012 Mariota.
  12. The ACC is horrible. Mario will easily have a first round bye.
  13. I think USC is one dimensional. Their run game isn’t good.
  14. Either the USC OL is bad or Michigan’s front 7 is great.
  15. It might be time for Mack Brown to retire.
  16. Michigan offense is one dimensional, but their defense is solid against USC.
  17. Illinois is going to be a problem later in the season.
  18. Bray: "We beat ourselves." Duck fans: "Beating yourselves by 5 TD's is pretty amazing. We finally found something you do well."
  19. I think it depends on how well he would have done with Bo as his QB. He kind of disappeared in UCLA's offensive system.
  20. It’s hard to believe how much of a difference a Heisman level QB can make in college football. There are a few cases in the NFL where teams can overcome an injured QB and still win the Super Bowl. Jeff Hostetler and Nick Foles come to mind as back-ups who won the championship.
