  1. There are four more uniforms getting revealed. My guess is white, yellow, kelly green and forest green.
  2. I read in earlier articles about the Generation O uniforms that they purposely wanted to pay homage to past uniforms. It has something to do with the 25th anniversary of the O. Hopefully they have other designs cooked up that will include the “Belotti Bold” font.
  3. I like the combination of new and old in the shoulder design. The Jump Man color scheme is cool as well. We haven’t seen that since the UCLA game in 2018. I also took the time to pause the video and examine the intricacies of the design. These uniforms are well made as expected.
  4. The NBA is pretty lax with their traveling rules. Pritchard must’ve quit drinking because he took 12 steps.
  5. I was planning on going anyway, so this will be much better. It’s an 8 hour drive for me. The hotels in State College will be pretty spendy if this year’s UW game is any indication. They will likely be around $400-$600 per night. I will likely stay somewhere that is a couple of hours away. Maybe Bedford or Hagerstown since I’ll be driving in from the south.
  6. Nebraska and Tennessee flooded our student section the last time they visited. Both school filled a quarter to a third of Autzen’s capacity. Luckily, both games were out of hand by halftime. However, Slick Willie decided to let Nebraska back in the game. Anyway, here’s to hoping our students decrease the number of Nuts fans at Autzen.
  7. Yeah, it was pretty SEC heavy. I also feel like App State got more representation. They do have a beautiful stadium, though.
  8. Reminds me of the Sweet River Baines skit on SNL. One of the best skits they ever did.
  9. The old Miami swagger that was portrayed in the ESPN 30 for 30 series is long gone. I read Jimmy Johnson’s book entitled Swagger recently and he was the one who started it. His philosophy was to let the players be themselves so long as they didn’t get penalized for their actions. They rarely did. Miami was one of the least penalized teams back when they were winning championships. However, NCAA rules and coaching changes killed their swagger. It was brought back for a short time with the hiring of Butch Davis, but Larry Coker killed it within 2 years. He had a little help from Nevin Shapiro who sunk the program with his improper gifts. They haven’t been the same since Butch Davis left. He built the 2001 championship team despite not coaching them that season. He was the last coach with a direct connection to Jimmy Johnson.
  10. I saw that Boettcher went yard on the pond otters. That had to hurt some feelings.
  11. I’m really loving Caldwell, too.
  12. Jay Harris is a stud. I could see him starting by mid-season.
  13. Was Troy Franklin’s combine numbers really that bad? I’m scratching my head over the WR’s that have been drafted over him.
  14. JPJ won’t make it past the Cowboys in Round 2. He’s likely to get snatched up before then due to his versatility. I’m looking forward to the Bo/Herb biannual matchups. If Bo can grasp Payton’s system then they should have some great games.
  15. Booger McFarland has proven that he’s just a mouthpiece who doesn’t do any statistical research. He called Bo a “dink and dunk” passer at Oregon. He probably should’ve pulled his head out of his butt long enough to watch a Ducks game film.
  16. If Beavis tries to flee to another conference with all of Oregon’s money, hopefully Trooper Dick Curtis will be lying in wait. “Well now! Where you fellas goin’ with all that stolen cash!”
  17. He needs to get good transfers since his recruiting has dropped off. Van Lith is back in the portal. She’s from WA, but might be willing to come to Eugene. However, the Zags might have the inside track.
  18. Everybody needs to remember that just because a coach is successful in Eugene doesn’t mean he is going to succeed elsewhere. It’s not always because they don’t perform well. Sometimes they take a job with a head coach who isn’t doing too well. Klemm and Donte Williams are two recent examples. However, I have high hopes for Dilly.
  19. We only see that Lock had him to practice on occasion. We don’t know what kind of personal relationship they developed in the past couple of years. If anybody knows what it’s like to be a minority football coach in Eugene it’s Gary Campbell. He could provide the kind of mentorship that Lock might not find within the staff. Chip may have reached out to Campbell to gauge Lock’s interest or to see if Campbell thought he might be a good fit for Chip’s coaching style and offensive philosophy. Smart coaches often use their personal relationships as part of their candidate search. The interview is part of the process but it’s not the only factor.
  20. The fact that Lock’s guys didn’t fumble is a huge selling point for him. I also get the sneaking suspicion that Chip and Gary Campbell were involved.
  21. I hate it. The surprise onside kicks that swung the momentum of games are no longer possible. Oregon probably doesn’t beat Stanford in 2010 without that onside kick as it definitely took the wind out of their sails. I’m equally sure that the Saints don’t win the Super Bowl in 2010 without their surprise onside kick. They’re taking one of the biggest situational coaching decisions out of the game.
  22. They finished empty. You can’t ask for more.
  23. Their basketball fans (especially WBB) can get pretty whiny. However, their football fans will pack Williams-Brice and get loud when they’re 3-7. They’re some of the most loyal fans I’ve ever witnessed.
