You would think the committee would have some sort of plan dealing with the top two teams from the same conference. Seeds two through four aren’t based on ranking so why should number five? If one through four just go to highest ranked conference champs then the number two ranked team should just automatically be put in the number six slot to set up a one vs two matchup. The whole goal of the playoffs should be to match up the two best teams in the championship not just in an early round.

To be undefeated and No. one in the country entering the final week of the season requires exceptional contributions from many different players performing many different roles at the highest level. Here's a few more I thought of. Most Improved Unit: Offensive line. After the Boise St game, it did not feel that a special season was eminent. Quite the contrary. It felt like the O line was going to be the thing that held them back yet by the end of the year they were the strength of the team. Out playing the entire Big at their own game in season one gave the Ducks instant cred far beyond the expected dash and flash. X Factor Spark: Tez Johnson. Beyond special teams excellence, defenses needed to game plan for him specifically and that still did not help. He always makes the first defender look silly and if he does that to the second, he's gone. I'd say he's been the most dynamic play maker since DAT. Super Sub: Justius Lowe. Filling Tez's absent shoes was a monumental chore and Lowe did that exceptionally well. He became a legit threat and had to be taken seriously in defensive schemes which was important in spreading the defense too thin to deal with so many threats. Cash Money Threes: Atticus Sappington deserves special mention for being a reliable kicker that can be a difference maker in close games. After Wisconsin I think we all can feel confident that points can be put on the board when drives stall. In the playoffs, this part of the game will have even more significance.
