Don't know what the official name will be but I'd love to be able to refer to it as The Yearly Beat Down.

I may be too new school but I think to win a championship, you need to actually win a championship. I have a hard time giving anybody credit for championships based on poll votes alone. Until you convert that do or die late game 3rd and twelve or make that 4th quarter goal line stand, you just don't know how any team is going to react in a playoff or championship environment. Oregon kept Cam Newton and the unstoppable Auburn offense to their lowest point total all season, with only six in the second half including a final play field goal. The Buckeyes were a four seed when they beat the three seed Ducks in the Championship. They both beat the one and two seeds which likely would have shared a title before the playoff era. Paper trophies deserve golf clap applause.
