  1. So far, through 7 games, Oregon’s amazing defense is giving up an average of 16.6 points per game. If I did my math right, over the last 50 years, no Duck defense has allowed so few points per game.
  2. As Charles said, I'm not sure that's gonna age very well. 😆
  3. Exactly. Seemed like they really didn't want to give him a TD.
  4. I love Idaho. It's a stunningly beautiful state. I always hoped to bump into Carole King up around Stanley, but never had such great luck I feel bad for the long timers that Idaho has finally been discovered. Oh yeah... and GO DUCKS!
  5. Such an excellent article, Sir Fishduck. The upside potential for this team appears to be just staggering. When we look at the growth from August 31st, to present, it's pretty jaw-dropping to me. But then too recognize the additional potential just waiting to take off... well, be still my heart.
  6. I'm rooting for DG, of course. But a part of me is also rooting for Jeanty. Hey... I shouldn't be, but I'm a bit torn.
  7. Obviously, we hope that both guys are okay and recover soon. That nasty cheap shot that Ferg took at UCLA a few week ago was downright scary. I'm still concerned for him.
  8. I keep thinking of UCLA Coach Gene Bartow, 1976, after playing at Mac Court. For those who never had the joy of experiencing a game there, back in the day, the entire place literally bounced and rocked up and down... including the massive scoreboard over center court. More than one player was nervous to run under it. But after this game, Gene Bartow called the Duck fans: "Deranged Idiots." We were all quite certain that Coach Bartow meant it as a compliment 😄 And from everything I've heard, Autzen rocked like that last Saturday night. Well done, Duck fans!
  9. This is a tricky. Purdue gets trashed two weeks ago by a somewhat better than average Wisconsin team, while Purdue only put up 6 points. Then last week Purdue takes what appears to be a pretty decent Illinois team to overtime while putting up 49 points. (Maybe Purdue got some studs back). Plus, we're traveling 3,000 miles after coming off one of the biggest wins in school history. So... all that just to say: OBD 40-14 3 4 320
  10. Sorry everyone. My understanding of when they apply the penalty was wrong. The penalty is applied from where the ball is kicked, and not after they receive the ball. But I really liked my completely incorrect understanding "It Ain’t What You Don’t Know That Gets You Into Trouble. It’s What You Know for Sure That Just Ain’t So" - Mark Twain
  11. Well, I liked my theory... until you just pointed out that my penalty understanding 100% wrong. Thanks for setting me straight. So, Lanning's call here really took some huge coconuts.
  12. Tough one for me, but I've gotta go with the hometown Eugene boy. But either way, Ducks win! And best of luck to both of them today.
  13. Just a side note, but I believe Oregon is the only team that has two wins against teams currently ranked in the Top-20 (or Top-15, for that matter). And I do not anticipate either BSU or OSU falling out of the Top 20. In fact, by the end of the season, both BSU & OSU could be ranked Top 10. I just knew that BSU win from five weeks ago would pay off in dividends. /s 😉
  14. Those are some exceptionally whiny, sore loser, tOSU fans out there.
  15. One thing that amazes me is that we made a lot of significant mistakes in that game. And yet, we were still able to pull off the win against a Top 5 team. When we look at the week-by-week improvement that OBD have accomplished since that frightful day on August 31st, if this continues as we all believe it will, they are about to become scary good. And a massively huge props to our Oregon fans last night. Relentless does not even begin to describe it. The wearing effect that you all had on tOSU, and their fans, was just off the charts exceptional. I'd suggest the our fans were worth 6 points last night. Just amazing.
  16. I think in this kind of a game, in that situation, you either go for it, or go home. Although you are definitely right regarding the win certainly moving that decision to the background a bit. Had we lost, we absolutely would have been talking about it a lot more.
  17. Ummm... yes. I'd have to agree with you. 23/34 - 67% 341 yards passing 32 yards rushing - avg 8 YPC 2 passing TDs. 1 running TD 0 picks
  18. Ryan Day is doing all he can to stay away from all mirrors. I almost feel sorry for the guy. Over the last 3 seasons, the dude totally chokes in the biggest games: a) Michigan x2 b) Missouri in the Cotton c) Georgia in the Peach d) Oh yeah, and lest I forget, OREGON IN THE AUTZEN! Cry it out, Ryan.
  19. In the last decade (10 seasons... 2015-2024), we're 2-0 against tOSU. I can't imagine how badly that must suck for those whiney OSU fans.
  20. This is one tough & resilient kid. I think we're all glad to see him having this success.
  21. "Chestnuts & Buckeye nuts roasting on an open fire..." I'm suddenly feeling in the Christmas Carol singing mood.
  22. I'm sorry... I can't quite hear you this morning. What'd you say? 🤪😅
  23. Absolutely. Yesterday, B1G Championship, and the Playoffs. That would be nuts. Thankfully, we just won Round One!
