UW QB Williams, Has Now 'Un-entered' the Portal
'Fully committed' Demond Williams Jr. to stay at Washington https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/47554312/demond-williams-jr-transfer-stay-washington Williams doesn't seem flaky at all 😆

NIL Toppled SEC Dominance
For 3 straight years in college football, the title will be won by the Big 10. Michigan - Ohio State - and now, Oregon (oh please, oh please, oh please). "Through 14 games, the Ducks have been successful 14 times on 30 fourth-down attempts. In contrast, Indiana has converted eight of 16 attempts through 14 games." What impresses me most about Indiana's 4th down numbers is that they only had to go for it -- or chose to go for it, on 4th down 16 times. Having to live, or rely, on 4th downs to survive is very risky business.

Curt Cignetti and College Football Recruiting
Great article. Reminds me a little bit of Moneyball, except now, Indiana also has the money... but they didn't when Cignetti arrived. "In 15 years as a head coach, he has never once signed a five-star recruit." That's just incredible. I'm expecting Our Beloved Ducks to win tonight. "I hate losing, I hate it. I hate losing more than I even wanna win." - Billy Beane, Moneyball But if the absolutely unacceptable happened and I had to lose to somebody, I'm afraid to say that my only acceptable choice would be Indiana. It's just too good of a story. 10-1 Michael Lewis is already writing Moneyball - Part II (or Hoosiers Part II). But damn... after 52 years of loving our Ducks, I want this game so bad that I'm semi-afraid to watch the game tonight.

RB Jay Harris Available for Peach Bowl, Per Coach Lanning
Given that we're going to make it to national championship game, does anybody know if he can stick around for that one too? I just can't imagine getting that far and walking away. However, money is a powerful and motivating tool.

RB Jay Harris Available for Peach Bowl, Per Coach Lanning
We live in weird college football times.

CBS On The Transfer Portal
I remember a few years back at the dawn of NIL, and some of the predictions we were all making about how potentially crazy it could/would get. Well... it's way worse than the predictions I remember.

Texas Tech Will be Just Fine With New $5Mil QB
Good night... I shudder to think where our program would be without Phil & Penny Knight.

(Former) UW QB Demond Williams Entered the Transfer Portal
I hate to say it, but that grieving-loser UW fan is somewhat right.

Ruh-Roh! Huskies Are NOT Rooting for Oregon to Win?
The Huskies remind me a bit of Nebraska. They once played some pretty good football, in a land far, far, away.

Can This Be the Time of the Duck?
Can this be the time of the Duck? Sure. Absolutely. If Oregon can put together four solid quarters on both sides of the ball, we win the game. It's that simple. But, while very doable... that is a big "if."

Wow. Did You Hear That in the Telecast About Dan Lanning?
I'd like a requirement for "winningest head coach" of 4 years, and as head coach at the same school. I wasn't sure we'd ever have another Oregon coach with a good shot of exceeding Chip Kelly's 4 year winning record of 86.8%. But Lanning is certainly going for it. After 3 years, 87.3% is just crazy nuts.

What a Playoff "Bye" Actually Means
Props to Indiana for breaking the curse of the bye. And breaking it in style.

"Texas Tech Will Make a MOCKERY of Oregon"
Well... the clown certainly got the clicks he was looking for.

Oregon-Texas Tech Post Game Thread
Well... I don't think Indiana's defense is going to be any easier than TT's. Next game, if our offense doesn't show up, we'll be headed home.

Rose Bowl GameDay Thread: Indiana vs. Alabama
Somebody needs to break the so-far 0-6 playoff 'Bye' curse. Perhaps it will be Indiana.

What a Playoff "Bye" Actually Means
It would be an interesting study to attempt to determine when degradation begins. I'm guessing you're right and that it's about 14 days. After that, I think it starts working against a team.

Oregon-Texas Tech Post Game Thread
Just the 3rd Oregon defensive shutout in the last 13 years. So unbelievably impressive. And what makes this all the more amazing to me is that it comes on the heels of giving up 500+ yards to JMU.

Oregon-Texas Tech Post Game Thread
Our offense has got to figure some things out before we play our next game. 1 offensive TD on a short 5 yard field, is not going to cut it next time. But holy crap... our defense has just been insane today. Nobody in their right mind predicted that our defense would hold the high octane TT offense to 0 points.

GameDay Thread No. 2 of Oregon vs. Texas Tech
So true. And yet, somehow, here we are... 23-0 -- against a team that supposedly had one of the best offenses in the nation. Amazing. Our defense was beyond nails. What a wild and rather bizarre switch between our offense and defense between this game and the JMU game.

What a Playoff "Bye" Actually Means
"Bye-Bye" -- As in 0-6... so far. This ridiculous playoff format has got to be changed.

GameDay Thread No. 2 of Oregon vs. Texas Tech
The crazy thing is that with a net of 3 TOs going our way, and how dominate our defense has been, we should be up by about 28 points. Our offense has got to figure some things out before we play our next game. 1 offensive TD on a short 5 yard field, is not going to cut it next time. But holy crap... our defense has just been insane today. Nobody in their right mind predicted that our defense would hold the high octane TT offense to 0 points.
