Desert Duck

I knew something about this seemed all too familiar: 2015: OSU 42 - Oregon 20 2025: OSU 41 - Oregon 21 I really don't like those guys.

Reminded me of that 2021 Pac-12 championship against Utah. That 38-10 loss was a disgusting disaster. And like our game yesterday, from our first offensive series, you pretty much instinctively knew that we were likely screwed... even though you did not want to admit it while holding out some form of hope. But at least Vegas was entertaining.

Winning championships is hard... very-very hard. As a Duck fan, I've known this for more than 5 decades. And I'm grateful for Oregon's many programs that have won many national championships over the years, with the notable exceptions of the big-3: football, basketball (1938-39 was before my time), and baseball. Thankfully, winning championships is not remotely a life & death situation. And my sincere thoughts and prayers today are with those in New Orleans.

If winning lots of games is our goal, I think we are going to be satisfied over the next several years. If winning a championship is the objective, I think we will likely continue to be disappointed.

"Next year"

I've been saying "next-year" regarding Duck football & basketball for 52 years. I think I'm about done. Heck, I'm pretty sure that I'll likely expire before that mythical next-year happens.

So, I'm guessing the OSU fans that wanted Coach Day's head four weeks ago, are lovin' him now.

I'd bet good money (not really since I don't gamble) that we can hand OSU the championship trophy right now.

After over 5+ decades with the Ducks, I just realized that I am Charlie Brown.

Yeah... whatever.

Oh well... at least we won the Big 10. Woo-hoo

I've been fooled many many many times over the last 50+ years. I think I'm worse than Charlie Brown.

Okay... now this is simply hilarious. This is one of the greatest embarrassments in college football history.

The Ducks... they lead you to the water, but never quite let you have the big drink.

I didn't expect our defense to do much, but I still thought our offense could outscore them. So far, I've been wrong across the board. What an abject embarrassment.

Exactly. I don't want to read one more comment about being rusty. Excuses we don't need.

With the way this game is going, the guidance/reminder is a good idea.

Wow... I'm not sure we could have had a crapier first 7 minutes of football. Better wake up fast, or this could get ugly.
