  1. Unfortunately, with virtually no passing game today, I could see that happening.
  2. Score change request... because I missed that latracey had already claimed 24-20. Ducks 24-21 2 2 222
  3. I think we may likely need our defense to score a TD today in order to win this one.
  4. Well, that could be good news. And clearly, I'm not investing enough time keeping up with OBD. I have to work on my game.
  5. It will be football weather day in Iowa City... a long and miserable football weather day. About 38° with the wind chill, and about 100% rain forecasted during the entire game. On the upside, wind will be fairly light. Iowa is good. This should be a relatively low scoring game... something in the low 20s or upper teens. I'm predicting a rather ugly grind of a game. He who has the fewer turnovers today, wins. Field position will be paramount.
  6. I was under the impression that Evans was done for the season. But it sounds like you are suggesting that he may be back this year. Is that correct? Because that would be awfully nice.
  7. Hopefully, those never saw the light of day anywhere 😉
  8. I This data is just amazing. Since we know Mario though, of course, we're not really shocked... but when you see it in black and white, it's still quite exceptional.
  9. Remind me to send Miami roses, chocolates, and a sweet "Thank You for taking Mario off of our hands, and helping our Oregon program to thrive... card."
  10. I bit hard on the hype after the PSU win. In hindsight, and a week or two later, as someone said, "I can't believe it took you guys two OTs to beat them." Ouch, but yeah. At the beginning of the season, I would have been very happy with a 2 loss regular season... and I need to remember that. But when I look at the combined record of the FCS teams that we have played so far, with the exception of Indiana, they're 20-34. Apparently, our best win is against a rather average 5-3 Northwestern team. And in our last game, we struggled against a sub-par 2-6 Wisconsin at home. I'm beginning to argue that our best game might actually have been the loss to a seriously good Indiana. We played quite poorly and yet only lost by 10 to a #2 team that totally looks legit. So, all that to say that I think this team has the pieces that can make a run, but they have yet to put them together. If they don't put them together, I could see us easily going .500 in our last four regular season games. On the other hand, if they actually put the pieces together and play together as a unit, I think this team could make a decent run in the playoffs.
  11. Such a great memory. We were riding high after coming off of a huge home win against a strong Michigan team. Then that damn SI curse hit 😉
  12. Yikes & Ouch. C'mon Duckies... get it all together for a kick butt home stretch.
  13. There are 136 FBS teams in the US. These teams are primarily spread across three time zones, and if you’re still living in the land of denial, wake up… because in regard to CFB, being out on the Left Coast is a big, natural, geographic, disadvantage. We have been living in the Southwest for 15 years now, and I am still shocked at how huge, and even somewhat beloved, the Oregon brand is down here. I travel a few times a year to TX, NM, AZ, UT, NV, & CA, and, for the most part, people either like, or even have a strong affinity, for the Ducks. I come across very few detractors. OregonDucks is spot on about this. In the last 25 years, Oregon football has won a LOT of games. We’ve provided the nation with a lot of highlight reel material. We came oh-so painfully close to winning it all in 2011. Got beaten up in the NCG in 2014. And got clown-stomped again last year by that same evil team when it mattered most (‘they who shall not be named’). We’ve done everything… except that one detail known as winning the entire enchilada. Or, more commonly referred to as The National Championship. Don’t get me wrong… in the eyes of the college football world, we are about as entertaining and fun as it gets. We are exciting to watch, we are extremely competitive, we have one ridiculously loud stadium, great fans, and the best football uniforms in the history of uniforms. Heck, we were even on the cover of Sports Illustrated once, where they said: “Dazzling Ducks… Rich, Cool, & 4-0.” But until we win the NCG, and preferably two, I’m afraid we’re going to have to be satisfied with dazzling, rich, and cool. Until then, to the rest of the nation, we’re primarily going to be that exciting team out there somewhere near the end of the Oregon Trail. However, win it all, and the familiarity will finally follow.
  14. They are using him a decent amount, but we also have so much talent that I think they're 'spreading the love' around. And knowing how long the season is, I'm guessing the coaching staff is also protecting our monster-beast a bit and will use him more down the home stretch.
  15. "Facade" is absolutely the wrong term. Perhaps Tom just needs a dictionary. Facade typically indicates deception, fake, etc. Totally the wrong word in this situation. For one to be in panic mode, would require me to recall what my expectations were for this team at the beginning of the season. I expected us to primarily have a rebuilding season. I felt like a two loss season would be a solid one for us this year. Expectations certainly changed overnight after the Penn State win. And then a week later, reality struck. The talent is there, and, while it will be a huge challenge, I think this team is quite capable of winning out the season. Frankly, I still have no idea how good this team is in regards to the playoffs. We played poorly against Indiana and only lost by 10. That gives me some hope that we can compete with the big boys when the time comes. But, at this point, I'm absolutely not convinced of that. I'm concerned that if we do get into the playoffs, that we will potentially have another beatdown like OSU gave us last year. Finally, with all of that being said, this team has a great opportunity to grow up fast over the next several weeks. Here's to hoping that they do.
  16. Stone cold, my friend. But only because your comment is true. Four weeks ago, I thought we likely had a championship caliber team. But now, as someone else around here said, I can't believe we had to go into double OT to beat PSU. So, if you were to ask me how good I think OBD are, I kind of have no clue. But, my instincts say we might get away with winning the rest of our regular season games. But if that amazingly happens, when the playoffs get here -- at least at this point, I don't think we've got the stuff this year to win against the OSU's & Indiana's. And I certainly hope I'm wrong.
  17. Sheldon High School has been very-very good to OBD. The great Chris Miller in the 80s (13 passing records while at Oregon & NFL Pro Bowler). And the almost walk-on at Oregon, the great Justin Herbert. And who knows... maybe the young Brock Thomas.
  18. Well, that was an atrocious first half. But great to put up 7, and we start the 2nd half with the ball. Let's see how they respond after their behinds are shredded at halftime.
  19. Do your grandson's, by chance, have eligibility remaining?
  20. They addressed them. He didn't say that they fixed them. I'm wide open to a better explanation.
  21. Maybe the coaches and team have taken the entire Grateful Dead / Hippie experience a bit too literal. At this rate, they're gonna need a lot of Doritos at halftime.
  22. Any chance of allowing a score prediction change due to me just seeing the wild Eugene weather forecast that I just saw? I realize that it never rains at Autzen stadium, but holy cow. 38-9 3 2 222
  23. I think it's a bit more like he has the talent surrounding him to continue getting opposing coaches fired.
