  1. I have not been paying much attention lately, so pardon me if the following may have been covered in detail. But I'm wondering what key Duck players, in addition Jackson Powers-Johnson & Troy Franklin, will not be playing on New Years Day? I'm also wondering who from the board is coming down to the desert for the game?
  2. Well... almost anything is possible. It would be nice, though, to win an NC in one one of big-3 (football, basketball, or baseball) in my lifetime. Especially since I missed the last one in 1939 by 22 years. So, like the long suffering pre-2016 Chicago Cub fans, I still hold out hope.
  3. Hopefully, you are right. I just realized that I was making an assumption.
  4. Who is going to be left to play with Bo on January 1st?
  5. Wow Jon... what a great article. You are also a gifted writer. I wish I had more time for a longer comment, but I just have time for a drive-by this afternoon. Thanks again, and have a great weekend.
  6. We'll likely see Seaton looking to make a move to Oregon in about 12 months.
  7. I started checking out tickets this morning for the Fiesta Bowl. And on top of us winning the 'honor' of playing that perennial powerhouse Liberty, I realized that this deal just keeps gettin' better... New Years Day - 11 am MST / 10 am PST start time. But then suddenly the words, "First World Problems," hit me upside the head. Okay... that is all the whining I have to share this morning.
  8. So, do you truly think the Ducks didn't 'want it' bad enough?
  9. Just when I thought I was beginning to accept our horrendous fate to play one of the worst teams to ever possibly play on New Year's Day, I then read Bill Oram's spot on article. There's just no other way to slice this... Oregon has been utterly given the biggest middle finger by the playoff committee that I think I have ever seen. Although FSU was spectacularly abused by them today as well.
  10. Please, take you time. It's takes time to digest a cow-pie sandwich like this one. We all completely understand.
  11. I am highly confident that there is no way that this smart young man is playing without a huge safety net under him, in the form of an extremely large insurance policy, paid for by donors. And I am really excited that he is going to play.
  12. I hear ya and I hope you are right... but after Washington, I'm going to be a bit more humble and let the Duck's play on the field do most of the talking.
  13. Well... after all of my above venting and frustration, and while I think my last comment stands... I must say, that if Bo is going to play, I have to rethink my entire New Year's Day plans now :-). I mean, if Bo is going to show up, the least I can do is the same. Besides, both of our sons will be in town for the holidays, and this would be the first Duck game that we will have been to as a family to since the oh-so-awesome Oregon v Kansas State Fiesta Bowl. So, we would obviously bring some really good luck along with us. In other words, the Ducks need the four of us!
  14. Regarding Washington, I agree 100%. I think this shows what the college football playoff committee really thinks of the PAC-12... and it ain't much. Plus, when we combine that with the fact that we're playing against the number 23 ranked team in our bowl game, Liberty, it really says that they think very little of us. Given how both Washington and Oregon have been treated by the committee, I think that if Oregon had beaten Washington, they would not have put us in the CFP.
  15. We absolutely looked flatter than flat for the first 22 minutes of that game. It reminded me of the Stanford game where we basically spotted them the first 25 minutes of that game. Against Stanford, we were able to get away with it, but obviously, against the team like Washington, that was not going to work. But, IMHO, there's just no chance that they were not motivated to play this game.
  16. Apparently... Bo Bo Nix announces that he will play in Fiesta Bowl vs. Liberty DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Oregon Ducks quarterback Bo Nix has announced that he will play one last game...
  17. That's amazing and, while I'm so impressed with him for making this decision, I'm stunned as well. But Bo's a smart guy, so... I'd bet a certain Duck donor, or perhaps a bunch of Duck donors, wrote one big mutha of a premium check to a Lloyd's of London for one massive insurance policy on Bo's behalf. But regardless, I'm really glad to see that he's going to play.
  18. That's the CFB powers-that-be saying that while they had to select an undefeated PAC-12 team, they are going to make it as difficult as possible for the PAC-12 team to succeed.

  20. Unfortunately, there's not a chance that this is going to happen. I can't see pretty much anyone that is bound, or likely bound, for the NFL, risking injury on a game like this. While this reality is unfortunate, this is the unfortunate reality of college football today.
  21. We showed up motivated. We just got beat by a slightly better coached team. Hate the Fuskies all we want, but all they do this season is win. As in 3 wins over OBD in the last 13 months... by a total of 9 points. Talk about one bitter tasting pill to swallow.
  22. There's now no doubt in my mind that the CFP committee would have 100% screwed Oregon over. I think all the evidence we need to see is Liberty & the VRBO Bowl. That tells me exactly what the CFP committe actually thinks of our Ducks.
  23. Liberty was my second choice... right after just about anyone else. And now we know what the powers that be in college football actually think of OBD.
  24. There's no freaking chance of 'repairing' this sports travesty.
