Buckeyes Win 28-14: GameDay Thread of Ohio State vs. Texas
Although Oregon was ridiculously not prepared to play last week, I would have much rather had a shot at this OSU team, rather than the one we played last week.

Oregon Gets Comeback Win Over Ohio State in "Pivotal" B1G Win on the Road
After getting the crapola kicked out of them by Illinois, and then barely beating unranked maryland, you just don't know what to expect from these guys. So this road win over a strong OSU team is pretty huge. Hopefully they will continue to gel together as we head into the meat of the season.

Well... getting out butts kicked by 32 points AT HOME was not exactly what I was looking for or expecting. I give up. I'm done.

Not a chance in a million he bagged the game.

All 4 Top Seeds Lost..
Yes... I see next to no value in the conference championship game --- except it's a way for the league to make more benjamins.

Props To Ohio State (And a Buckeye Fan Response!)
I think we're all hoping for an all Big 10 final around these here parts. And that way, we Ducks might be able to say that we're the only team that beat both finalists. I'd find a modicum of solace in that.

The Biggest Rose Bowl Shock: It's OVER
We lost to Washington 34-31. Not sure many would call that a blow out.

The Biggest Rose Bowl Shock: It's OVER
I like the part where after 3 seasons, he only has 6 losses... 35-6. He's winning at an 85% rate. That's almost as good as Chip Kelly's 86.8%.

The Biggest Rose Bowl Shock: It's OVER
After watching Texas play yesterday, I can't believe the line is only OSU -4.5. I almost always believe the betting line is going to be pretty close, because it is. But I feel like those guys were watching a different Texas game yesterday than I did. ASU made more mistakes in that game than you can shake a stick at, and yet they nearly won. I say OSU -17... and it could get a lot more ugly than that.

The Biggest Rose Bowl Shock: It's OVER
The 2010-11 loss to Auburn, and the the 2014-15 to OSU, are the ones that gutted me. But of the two, the Auburn game was the worst. I felt kinda sick for about 4 days. And that game only made it worse because I was there. After those losses, I put this stuff a bit more in perspective. So while this loss yesterday sucks profusely, I'm thankful that it doesn't impact me anywhere near like it once did.

So, What About Tosh Lupoi?
I'd suggest it seems that way, for the simple fact that it was that way. I don't think we need to pretend otherwise. It was just simply one horrific game across the board and our coaches did not have the kids prepared. But let's not forget that this game was also preceded by 13 other games that were pretty damn good.

Where Were the Fighting Ducks?
Excellent article. But after 5+ decades of this stuff, right now, I'm of the mindset of "Get back to me early to mid-December 2025 and let me know how we're doing."

It Just Kept Getting Worse. No.22 Illinois 109 No.9 Oregon 77
You are really hitting on some big keys for this team right now. They appear to be playing quite unselfishly, and the off the bench play is just exceptional. Usually, Altman teams don't gel until late mid-February, so this is pretty fabulous. The next 10 days will be a great test for them. The away games at OSU & PSU will be especially interesting... but Illinois and Maryland are tough too.

It Just Kept Getting Worse. No.22 Illinois 109 No.9 Oregon 77
As you may have noticed, our men's hoopsters are ranked #9, and have a 12-1 record. Over the next 10 days, we play 4 tough games... starting TONIGHT AT HOME against a tough #21 ranked Illinois. So, if you can make it to the game tonight, do it. Dana Altman and Co might just be doing something very special this season.

Regarding skiing, I'm so glad for you guys this season, and jealous at the same time because I'm down here in the desert. But I do have a trip coming up to Mt Hood in the middle of this month and I'm really looking forward to it. The amount of snow that the West is getting is just fantastic. I'm glad you're getting out there to enjoy it and hope you get in all the laps you can this season!

Props To Ohio State (And a Buckeye Fan Response!)
Unfortunately, I feel the need to give massive props to OSU… and Chip Kelly. How in the world they got humiliated at home by unranked rival Michigan, followed by an unmitigated post-game disaster, and then turned everything around on a dime, is quite exceptional. Following Michigan, OSU looked a bit like a dumpster fire. Not to mention, it appears that Coach Day was on the edge of being terminated. Against Michigan, OSU at home put up 10 points (as in ‘ten-points’). Following this, against two highly ranked opponents, OSU has averaged 41.5 points, while holding two rather high powered offenses to an average of 19 points. So, while I naturally have the utmost disdain for OSU, I feel a need to give credit to where credit is due. Following that Michigan disaster, I think most teams would have simply rolled over. Instead, OSU is now rolling over everything in their path. Good luck, Texas. You're gonna need it.

Playing Ohio State: Deja Vu?
I knew something about this seemed all too familiar: 2015: OSU 42 - Oregon 20 2025: OSU 41 - Oregon 21 I really don't like those guys.

Where Were the Fighting Ducks?
Reminded me of that 2021 Pac-12 championship against Utah. That 38-10 loss was a disgusting disaster. And like our game yesterday, from our first offensive series, you pretty much instinctively knew that we were likely screwed... even though you did not want to admit it while holding out some form of hope. But at least Vegas was entertaining.

Ducks Exposed
Winning championships is hard... very-very hard. As a Duck fan, I've known this for more than 5 decades. And I'm grateful for Oregon's many programs that have won many national championships over the years, with the notable exceptions of the big-3: football, basketball (1938-39 was before my time), and baseball. Thankfully, winning championships is not remotely a life & death situation. And my sincere thoughts and prayers today are with those in New Orleans.

Ducks Exposed
If winning lots of games is our goal, I think we are going to be satisfied over the next several years. If winning a championship is the objective, I think we will likely continue to be disappointed.
