  1. Okay... I like this, and I'm going with it! Good teams, that potentially could be great teams, somehow just find a way to win games they often have no business winning. I'm not saying that we had no business winning against 'the Idaho's,' but IMHO, we tried about as hard as possible to hand those games to them... and yet, we still won. OBD have a gift of 3+ more weeks of 'on-the-job-training' to try and right the ship and get their cheet together. Right now, that's my sliver of silver lining. And during this time, we're going to learn what kind of coaching staff we actually have.
  2. Agreed Annie... but I was so disappointed to hear the booing, even though I completely understand the frustration.
  3. I've been sitting here this morning trying to put this game together in my mind. But, as you point out, it was such a bizarre game on so many levels that I'm having a tough time knowing where to even start. And when combined with last week, I just can't ever remember seeing two games in a row like this. At this moment, however, I think I have resigned myself to just choosing to go to my happy place and telling myself that both BSU and Idaho are top 15 teams, even though I'm the only one who realizes it. Right now, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I fear the River Rats.
  4. Hmmm... Personally, I think that if our special teams could produce two more game time TDs, I think we'd have a shot against Notre Dame. So, we've got that going for us.
  5. I just luv the glass-half-full outlook 😉
  6. 14 BSU points off of 2 fumbles in about 3 minutes. That's just incredible.
  7. Exactly. The level of ridiculousness around here regarding the negativity toward DG is exceptional.
  8. Because we were backed up to the 11-yard line and our QB has almost no time.
  9. And 4 first half sacks on DG is just staggering.
  10. When DG isn't getting sacked 4 times... in the first half, he's able to do good things with the ball down field.
  11. If this is what our team is actually going to look like, I hate to say it it, but we will likely go 6-6. Right now, I can't believe I drank the kool-aid again.
  12. It is kind of hard for a QB to sometimes see open receivers when he is running for his life.
  13. 2 TDs & no 3rd down conversions. You don't see that happen very often. It would be nice to see an actual sustained drive.
  14. Sorry... meant 11 to go in the second. Regardless, it's beyond horrendous. Really stunning.
  15. 3 sacks on DG and there is more than 11 minutes to go in the first. Holy cow.
  16. Nebraska 28-0 at halftime. Rumor is that Nebraska has been cheating and stealing signals. 😉😄🤪
  17. I really hope OBD saw or heard what happened to the Irish.
  18. And Ducks... Be all that the kool-aid that I drank said you could/would be 😉🤪
  19. What a convoluted mess it has become to watch college football.
  20. The more I think I know about football, the more I realize how incredibly little I actually know about the game. The deeper I try to get into it, the more I realize that it is something akin to playing 5D chess... if there is such a thing. This is why when we had the extreme privilege of having unicorn-rare, 'generational,' back-to-back, 1st round NFL QBs like Herbert and Nix, and watching how quickly their brains processed what was going on, and then successfully picking apart the defense, just blows my mind. I think a lot of us need to pause and recognize how unicorn-rare it is to have one generational QB like this... let alone to have two back-to-back. And if our o-line can do their jobs, I think DG has the potential to be another great Oregon QB.
  21. Wow Charles. What a breakdown. For someone like me who is not anywhere near as knowledgeable of the offensive line as I'd like to be, your review is so valuable. Frankly, I'm still very perplexed by the Idaho game that I don't really know what to think, other than the fact that our O-line was atrocious. As I mentioned previously, statistically, we absolutely dominated them in every key category (on 3rd down plays they were only 2-12, while we converted 7-16... 44%). I think most people realize, and would argue, that the center position is one of the Top-5 most critical positions in football. To have lost the best center in CFB to the draft is a huge hole to replace. But, it's not like everyone and their mother didn't know it was coming. The bottom line for me is that BSU could not be coming to town at a better time in order to tell us if we will likely be a Top-10 team this season. I think it is the perfect test at just the right time. This is also when I'm glad that I'm not a betting man, because I have absolutely no idea what kind of outcome to expect. And with all that being said, GO DUCKS!
