Report: Arizona Meeting with Big-12 This Week...
I'm not too worried about Oregon landing in a good conference. UW will be okay as well. I'd be sick to my stomach if I were a Beaver or Wazzu fan/alum. They're going to be relegated to a Mountain West or AAC situation. The only thing that will save either school is if the state boards at Oregon and Washington tether their institutions together. If Notre Dame joins the Big 10, they will bring along Stanford. Cal may also find themselves in the same boat as OSU and WSU.

Good Gosh...Trojans and Bruins Have Officially Left the Pac-12
While the SEC and Big 10 built their brand, television deals and their networks, the PAC 12, led by Larry Scott, did next to nothing. Additionally, USC felt betrayed by their own conference when the draconian sanctions were levied. The other conferences would never allow Ohio State, Alabama et. al. to receive similar outcomes (for infractions that were likely much bigger); that resentment has been seething for a number of years. A lot of USC folks I know have wanted them to leave for a long time, although they never saw the Big 10 as a possibility. Interestingly, this keeps USC and UCLA in the Rose Bowl agreement. We are living in fascinating times.

Oohh! Kickoff Times Set and Game with OSU Moved?
We could go with the old "Hippies vs. Aggies" as a few called it in the 60's-70's.

I will be more intrigued by Phil Steele’s analysis.

I am optimistic. However, anyone would be an upgrade over Tennis Larry.

California (the State) Screwing with the System Again
They say the same thing about "Uncle Phil." I suppose it depends on whose ox is being gored.

USC Spring Game
The ESPN focus on USC this weekend is ultimately good for the entire Pac-12. For many years now the narrative has been that the Pac-12 is an also-ran conference, barely better than the Group of Five. With a strong Oregon, a strong USC, and a strong Utah, that narrative will change.

Check Out Lincoln Riley's Crib
Norman, Palos Verdes...Norman, Palos Verdes...such a difficult decision.

Bill Walton: Where do YOU Stand?
A case can be made that he was the best who ever played the game, in terms of his mastery of every aspect of basketball. One of the great disappointments in sports is that his health did not allow for more than short glimpses of that greatness. As an announcer, he is kind of a nut. He's his own person, that's for sure. He follows the beat of his own (Grateful Dead) drummer.

DC Tosh Throws Hilarious Shade at Riley
Tosh may be throwing shade but he has a fairly shady track record. He was famously known as "The Bagman." I'm not sure he needs to draw attention to himself.

Caleb Williams Commits to USC
USC's O-line was actually fairly good last season, just not a lot of depth. The D-line is the biggest issue at this point, and I'm sure that Riley has a plan. I don't think it's a profound statement to say that more top-tier athletes will now be attracted to USC now, especially with CW being there the next two years.

Is Washington the Worst Team in the Pac-12?
Hoping they honor the legacy of Keith Gilbertson in upcoming seasons.

Oregon and USC: the Fight is On
The "EXPERT'S" are falling all over themselves to see who can slobber all over Riley and U$C the most. Why even play out the conference games. Just put U$C in the CFP and call it a day. Just like USC fans are absolutely convinced that "Uncle Phil" has paid for Oregon recruits for years. Seems it's a case of whose ox is being gored.

CJ Stroud: USC, UCLA "Just Kind of Boring"
SC played 6 games last year, and UCLA played 7. Most of the cancellations were on their opponent's part.

Huskies Yelping: Four-Year Starter and Leading Tackler LB Leaves via Portal
Brady has always done very well there. Not sure why there and not at other places. Their new stadium is going to be nice. SDSU could be a solid program for the foreseeable future.

The lesson, as always: Don’t bRuin your life.

If You Aren't Cheating, You Aren't Trying.
Bringing in Klemm and Lupoi is a definite signal from Lanning that we will henceforth have an SEC mentality. I’m not certain that’s a good direction to go. However, it does fit nicely with “If you’re not cheating, you’re not trying.”

Future of the Pac-12: “Three Strikes and You’re Out?”
The Bay Area is a real problem for the PAC-12. College sports has a minuscule following there. It’s like the northeast - all they care about is pro sports. The stadium at Cal, in particular, is a great to watch college football, but even when Cal is good they rarely sell out. Stanford has a small alumni base in comparison to the other PAC-12 schools, and most alums don’t live in the area. They did a great job with their new stadium, but again, struggle with attendance. With this level of overall disinterest, the number of TVs in the Bay Area is a misleading stat IMO.

If this causes a chain reaction of QB transfer(s) it’s a bad transaction for the Ducks.

Canzano's Update
Don't forget how incredibly high Chip was on Helfrich. He viewed him as a "can't miss" and pushed extremely hard on his behalf. I don't have heartburn over that decision by Mullens. Taggert, on the other hand, was a big reach. Swing and miss.

Brady Hoke seen in Eugene yesterday???
The fanbase would go crazy but it might actually be a good hire. SDSU is really solid.
