  1. A case can be made that he was the best who ever played the game, in terms of his mastery of every aspect of basketball. One of the great disappointments in sports is that his health did not allow for more than short glimpses of that greatness. As an announcer, he is kind of a nut. He's his own person, that's for sure. He follows the beat of his own (Grateful Dead) drummer.
  2. Tosh may be throwing shade but he has a fairly shady track record. He was famously known as "The Bagman." I'm not sure he needs to draw attention to himself.
  3. USC's O-line was actually fairly good last season, just not a lot of depth. The D-line is the biggest issue at this point, and I'm sure that Riley has a plan. I don't think it's a profound statement to say that more top-tier athletes will now be attracted to USC now, especially with CW being there the next two years.
  4. Hoping they honor the legacy of Keith Gilbertson in upcoming seasons.
  5. He was always following MC.
  6. The "EXPERT'S" are falling all over themselves to see who can slobber all over Riley and U$C the most. Why even play out the conference games. Just put U$C in the CFP and call it a day. Just like USC fans are absolutely convinced that "Uncle Phil" has paid for Oregon recruits for years. Seems it's a case of whose ox is being gored.
  7. SC played 6 games last year, and UCLA played 7. Most of the cancellations were on their opponent's part.
  8. Brady has always done very well there. Not sure why there and not at other places. Their new stadium is going to be nice. SDSU could be a solid program for the foreseeable future.
  9. The lesson, as always: Don’t bRuin your life.
  10. Bringing in Klemm and Lupoi is a definite signal from Lanning that we will henceforth have an SEC mentality. I’m not certain that’s a good direction to go. However, it does fit nicely with “If you’re not cheating, you’re not trying.”
  11. The Bay Area is a real problem for the PAC-12. College sports has a minuscule following there. It’s like the northeast - all they care about is pro sports. The stadium at Cal, in particular, is a great to watch college football, but even when Cal is good they rarely sell out. Stanford has a small alumni base in comparison to the other PAC-12 schools, and most alums don’t live in the area. They did a great job with their new stadium, but again, struggle with attendance. With this level of overall disinterest, the number of TVs in the Bay Area is a misleading stat IMO.
  12. It looks great in person, and bad on television.
  13. If this causes a chain reaction of QB transfer(s) it’s a bad transaction for the Ducks.
  14. Don't forget how incredibly high Chip was on Helfrich. He viewed him as a "can't miss" and pushed extremely hard on his behalf. I don't have heartburn over that decision by Mullens. Taggert, on the other hand, was a big reach. Swing and miss.
  15. The fanbase would go crazy but it might actually be a good hire. SDSU is really solid.
