  1. They'll look like a completely different team today. Oregon coming to Waco will do that to a Texas team. I see a tough battle ahead and a game Oregon will be happy to escape from with a win. I hope I'm wrong and they dispatch the Red Raiders decisively.
  2. Baylor kicks a FG to go up 3-0 on a (so-far) lackluster looking Utah bunch. They're playing like they're suffering jet-lag. Early in the 2nd Qtr.
  3. How about "Me and Mary dinint go to the mall no more". We're getting younger by the moment.
  4. Might I suggest a burning effigy of the opposing team's mascot? (ps: just kidding....)
  5. Hmmm... maybe.... Another pet peeve is the dropping of the letter 'd' in words like 'didn't'. It's very common to hear national media personnel pronounce such words like "din-int".
  6. Double-negatives are also an offender. We're hearing them now in America as part of everyday speech. "He ain't never going nowhere". Sign of the times.
  7. Baylor giving Utah a battle too. Both teams 3 punts apiece. Herbstreit the only one of 6 on CGD to pick Texas Tech. Wow! Joe Namath looks ancient!
  8. Ive never seen it off in all the games I've ever attended or watched. It might be permanently attached? Maybe the costume is a zip-up from the back and the students step into it? Good question.
  9. Aren't there plenty of pretty girls in skimpy outfits in the stadium too? Maybe Mario just isn't that popular as the HC.
  10. Just a snippet of your interesting post above but I just wanted to comment that however it's supposed to work, however it's supposed to limit or bottle up the opponent's offense, if the Ducks keep on winning games by scoring more points than each of their opponents I'll be happy. After each win the pundits can 'punditcize' away all they want trying to explain how it all worked. I'll be keeping my eye on the final score. GO OREGON!
  11. If the so-called Conference Commissioner had half a set of balls he'd face the locker room from both teams, one at a time, and explain just what the he__ he was doing. Face-to-face, man-to-man with they young men, staff and assistants whose lives will/have been affected by his monumental decisions. Of course, that's the kind of response you'd only get from a man of integrity. Klavikoff doesn't strike me as someone with integrity. Not by the way he's handled this whole affair.
  12. I'm pretty confident they must have - could you imagine if they didn't, esp. after playing a hard-fought game on a warm autumn night in the desert? Woo-Eee!
  13. Home-made signs are a Jerk. No spell check, no Siri. Watching Kansas and Illinois play tonight in Lawrence, Ks. What looked like a female student was seen on camera holding up a sign: "Back in Black and Ready to Attack Ilinoi". Unless this is a old (new?) way to spell Illinois .. or... she meant 'Eli and I' (Siri).
  14. I don't know how they come up with all these uni schemes but some designer (presumably at Nike) probably ha his/her finger on the pulse. I think the players get to make their choice, tho.
  15. I, for one, will not argue against your point. It's well-known here I'm not a fan of our D.C. but Dan did choose him and presumably for good reasons. Let's cross our fingers, sit back and watch how the year plays out. We don't want to be negative, esp. this soon in the season.
  16. That's also a good point because PSU's passing game yielded them almost nothing. There has always been more than one way to "skin a cat", ie stop a passing game. So, the 0 sacks were moot.
  17. Well, there you go everyone. DrJack's brings up equally good points proving once again "there are always more facts" than most of us know about just about everything. Thanks, DrJacksPlaidPants. But back to my original point (as I hope was inferred with my topic inclusion) CFB is the poorer for the loss of Mike Leach.
  18. On my behalf, no, I don't know this for sure. But, I can only imagine how stretched a Head Coach has to be nowadays just to manage and steer a program of the shear complexity of a Division 1, Power-5 football team. And why would a team bother to pay the enormous sums for a Defensive (or Offensive) Coordinator if the HC were running the D (or O)?
  19. It's ultimately why I picked Oregon (tentatively) by less then the already narrow point spread of -7. Oregon will do well to come out of this the winner. For me, this was 1 of 3 games I thought could go against the Ducks. GO OREGON
  20. Deion Sanders reminds me somewhat of a carnival barker. However, so far, one must admit he's got his team living up to all the hype. So far. Oh, the media do luv their darlings!
  21. Speaking only for myself, there was no misunderstanding over what you meant. I'm probably the least fan of our DC here on the board, but it has nothing to do with his performance so far, but what his past conduct at UW and Cal revealed. But if Oregon does improve defensively, as appears the case, Lupoi would definitely deserve the lion's share of the credit. The HC has overarching responsibility for the entire team's performance but I don't think Dan Lanning is a micromanager. He's entrusted the Defense largely to Lupoi. Most of us are willing to give Tosh a clean slate under Lanning and trust in Lanning's judgement in appointing him to DC. It speaks to how much we ultimately trust Dan Lanning.
  22. Probably a good bet. Imagine the media frenzy afterwards - if this happens. CU will be sucking all the oxygen out of the room again, with only Texas-Alabama getting more attention, maybe.
  23. If I were betting I'd bet CU embarrasses Nebraska. And the legend grows. Not that I'm hoping for that, 'cause I'm not.
  24. Given the proclivity of Oregon to change things up and invent new combinations I'd imagine it's only a matter of time before we see yellow somewhere in the uniform scheme.
  25. PSU HC Bruce Barnum Says Player Had 'Ear ripped off' vs. Oregon Ducks WWW.YARDBARKER.COM It's week 2 of the college football season and all of the Oregon Football community has their eyes on Lubbock as the No. 13 Ducks prepare for a non-conference clash with the Texas Tech...
