  1. Strictly following Charles' format: W-L: 11-1 Conference Title: nope (alas) Bowl: Alamo or Holiday Offense: Ppg: 44 Ypg. 450 TO's: 7 Defense: Ppg: 22.5 Ypg: 300 Takeaways: 16
  2. Here's one reason why I strictly avoid betting real money on CFB games, (esp if hoping to get tips from betting agencies). Odds Shark is actually picking Miami-Ohio over Miami (in Hard Rock stadium, no less) despite a betting line of -16.5 favoring the Hurricanes. (They're also picking Hawaii to beat Stanford !!) Now, I certainly hope OS is right - but I seriously doubt it. Even if Idalia makes a U-turn and comes back to Florida. But, let's say they're right and Mario's team stumbles against Miami-OH. How long do you think he'd last in 2023? Go Redhawks! lol
  3. Utah opened the season with a lot of injuries, not the least their starting QB. Should be a serious wake-up call to the Florida people who had a mostly intact roster and still looked awful.
  4. And few penalties and even fewer injuries
  5. The yellow unis have been my favorite for the last decade or more. Much better (imo) than the green & way much better than the black
  6. Oregon 56-20, 2, 4, 250 (Score & passing ydg lower due to playing time being given to 3 different QB's) My preference would be to see Nix until Oregon safely ahead then Thompson the entire rest of the way. We need to see what Thompson can or cannot do. It's his 3rd year on campus.
  7. This brings into question Lincoln Riley's character and sportsmanship, shouldn't it? You know the Regents don't care - unless they're made to.
  8. I finally got the kinks in Sling ironed out. I had to reboot it to get it to work. Fortunately it was 2 hours before the Utah game kicked off. So far, Sling's working out fine. Where I live cable is not an option and dishes down't get things done come bad weather. Our biggest problem with streaming is our Internet speed here in the mountains is barely adequate.
  9. Later, in the 2nd Half, I thought Johnson hurt the team more than helped them. I don't understand why a coach as savvy as Whittingham kept bringing him in late in the game. A better team than Florida (allowed to stay in the game like that) beats Utah. It was as much (imo) a bad effort by the Gators as a decent one by the Utes that won this game. Johnson needs lots more work to be ready.
  10. I didn't see much speed at all on the Gator side of the ball. Utah's a power team more than a finesse team, choosing to just beat teams up while tossing in a bit of speed and trickery here and there. I also thought both teams looked sluggish but it was the first game of the season. Lastly, I can understand why Florida wasn't ranked coming in to the game. They may be in for a long season. Very happy Utah won despite a lousy 2nd Half (Offense-wise).
  11. This is USC. Rules don'r apply to them. Come-on...
  12. Must have been drunk.
  13. You are correct. After leaving Oregon he went to FSU. Guess things didn't work out for him there either. I once told a friend of mine I thought he was gonna be a great one at Oregon. Boy, was I wrong!
  14. I think he's being entirely too conservative in this 2nd Half. They are not putting an awful playing Florida away on their home field.
  15. This game between the Huskers and Gophers represents the both of the conference, much like Colorado and ASU or Stanford.
  16. Bottom line: Utah leading but not playing very well themselves. It's just Florida playing poorly. Whittingham can't be very happy despite leading at the Half. This game look sluggish and like a few more days of practice for both teams definitely needed. I sure hope Lanning has his team ready to play better than this. We won't be able to compare tho, PSU isn't Florida. 17-3 at the Half. I do have to hand it to the Utah fans, tho. Everyone is wearing Red. I've never see Autzen get all Green, all Yellow or all Black like this.
  17. Former Duck Micah Pittman (aka USC Trojan) just drops a big one on 3rd down. Florida dodges a bullet. 17-3 Utah. Typical 1st game jitters, both teams. THIS is what I watch to see on first games of the season - how well has Lanning got the Ducks ready to play.
  18. Penalties are a big difference in this game so far. Exactly why I worry so much about the Ducks' proclivity to get them. 14-3 Utah
  19. Leverage. Just like the coaches teach ya. Leverage.
  20. Early 2nd Qtr.: Utah 7-3 after a missed FG by Florida (after a false start on 4th and 1 just outside the 10. Pays to be lucky sometimes. Could be the combination of noise and altitude . Utah is not looking very impressive to me, but then Cam Rising isn't playing. Go Utes.
  21. Now that's a tall order! I should also mention I'd like to see fewer penalties which kinda relates to discipline above. The Ducks have a history to too many penalties and a lot of us are hoping the Lanning era will see a change in that.
  22. What I like to watch for is how well the team executes - knowing that this is the 1st game of the season. Is the discipline there? Are assignments being executed? Do the new players exhibit knowledge of the playbook and is that playbook more than just the very basic (which can indicate how well the new players are adapting to the system)? Is the intensity there throughout the game and will they dominate both lines of scrimmage? Against PSU, they had better or game two in Lubbock might be a rocky one. This is Year 2 of the Lanning era and fans should start seeing how his system is going to work, or not, going forward. It's a good thing the Ducks aren't going into the Big 10 this year.
  23. Took a almost an hour to get things ironed out. I had to completely reboot everything including my internet server and go back in to re-enter the server password, preferences and reboot Sling all over again. Never did get an "agent" to help out. I sure hope this isn't a recurring problem
  24. Ohhh, I should have done my homework, Jon. I didn't think Cam Rising wouldn't be able to go tonight. You may very well be right about Florida not only covering, but maybe even better. I'm not pulling back from my gentleman's (ahem) bet, but I'm definitely less confident than I was a few hours ago. Mertz is pretty mercurial as a QB. Utah will need to make him throw more picks and lose his confidence while finding another QB to fill Cam's shoes. CFB - you gotta love it!
