  1. Disagree. Last year we lost one game to the eventual National Champion. This year we lost two games to the same team... the team that will probably win the National Championship this year. We have one of the best offenses and one of the best defenses in the country -- in several categories. The Ducks have not lost a single game the whole time that Dan Lanning has been here to an unrated team (if I'm remembering correctly). I trust Dan Lanning to continue to make good hiring decisions. That, of course, does not mean that he will always make the best hires.
  2. Here is a bright side: If Indiana wins the national championship (which it should), then the only games that the Ducks have lost over the last two seasons were to the eventual National Champions! Who is to say that we have not been the 2nd best team in the country??? Last year we should have been on the opposite side of the bracket from Ohio State, and this year we should have been on the opposite side of the bracket from Indiana (no matter what many on this forum thought was best). This is one reason why I am rooting for Indiana.
  3. The experience thing is what keeps us in the portal shopping for a new QB. We are doing good on the recruiting trail, but we need to give guys experience. We need to sit the starting QB and and give someone else a shot. Dante should have played more last year. It would have helped him this year. I don't expect Dante to leave, but if he does no one got enough snaps to be his replacement. If Dante stays, #2 needs to get a whole lot more snaps next year, or we will be in the same situation. It will probably always be better to bring someone in who has 3 years behind center rather than trust someone with the keys who only has less then 50 snaps in his career... even if that guy knows the system and the veteran does not. The veteran can adjust -- look who's playing QB in the championship game.
  4. Exactly what I was thinking..... but people are having fun. I wonder how many of these predictions might change with new news coming out. (e.g. Davidson out)
  5. 1/5 + 1/2 = 2/7 Actually, the math goes like this: 1/5 = 2/10 1/2 = 5/10 2/10 + 5/10 = 7/10 Still less then one whole championship.
  6. I'm hoping Miami wins ☹️🤮 just because I don't want the SEC in the finals. If we can beat Indiana, we can beat Miami.
  7. I can't disagree. Trust the Defense.
  8. I'll trade 3 points for a three and out all day long. 😁
  9. The only good thing about OSU's loss last night is that it wasn't against an SEC team.
  10. I am ready to watch Mike West's predictions unfold.
  11. Ducks 35 - 17 1 TOs 5 Sacks 287 passing
  12. I hope he follows WS to Kentucky. (I'm sure they've talked) His transition will be a lot smoother and he would probably play right away.
  13. Fifty one points, (51!) and he still catches crap. Wowsa. For sure. Fact: We really have no idea what is going into the decisions of what we are going to do when. It is very possible that we did not abandon the run game because we thought it wasn't working. (Duh. Who would think that?) Maybe they wanted to get some practice in for the receivers and Dante in a real game situation. There really are not many targets to spread around. We don't know... but as long as we keep winning, who am I to complain???
  14. Benson is probably the punt returner for the remainder. I also don't see either Benson or McClellan being benched for Bryant at WR. Bryant will work back into the 2 deep. Dak Moore will work back into starter.
  15. It is hard to think of USC as a south team when they are a card carrying member of the B1G. I put them in the north.
  16. Yes, the best thing is that the SEC will lose a game. Too bad they can't both lose. All that said, I would rather have Bama lose, because if they win they will say, "I told you we belong in the CFP." ...and then they will whine and cry next year too. I have Alabama/SEC Exhaustion Syndrome.
  17. Just ask Mariota, Herbert, and Nix. They all came back and they all improved their NFL life.
  18. ...not compared to THIS guy, anyway. Ruh-Roh! Are Huskies Beginning to RESPECT Oregon? NO!!! Say it isn't so!
  19. Since others have posted that G6 champions should get in, I don't feel so out of place suggesting this, if we go to 16 teams: I don't think any conference should get 4 automatics. Go with 3 and 2. If the 4 spot in the SEC and the B1G are that good, they will get an at large bid anyway. Why should a 13th ranked BIG12 get pushed out by a 17th ranked team that is fourth in his conference. Granted, this will not happen very often, but it will. G6 Champs have play-in games, matchups according to rankings (1 hosts 6, 2 hosts 5, 4 hosts 3) This way, the G6 gets 3 spots in the field of 16. (This would mean there would actually be 19 teams in the playoffs.) Any champion that didn't win its play-in game is not eligible for an at large bid -- they lost their chance. Therefore, 16 teams in the final bracket: 4 P4 champs, 3 G6 champs, 2 each more from the SEC and the B1G, 1 each more from the ACC and BIG12, and 3 at large bids. I think it would be even better to say 4 P4 champs, 3 G6 play-in champs, and 9 at large bids, but there are a couple of powerful leagues that are afraid of losing out. If they are so powerful, what are they afraid of??? They should get 5 or 6 in anyway. Right, SEC?
  20. Ducks definitely have an easier path at #5 they we would at #6.
