If we split these two (very possible) we would be 11-1 regular season and possibly in the CC game. The Ducks just won 13 games this year... most in school history. Almost everyone was looking at the Rose Bowl this year as the de-facto championship game. If anOSU continues it's post Michigan march for two more games, who's to say that the Ducks weren't the second best team in the country this year???? Who's to say that we would not have beaten another team in the Rose Bowl if the tourney was seeded properly. Everyone with one voice said that anOSU should have been on the opposite side of the bracket from the Ducks.

We chose to walk away from it, knowing what we were leaving behind and knowing what we were getting in the B1G. We thought (and still think) that what we were getting is worth what we left behind. Therefore, I have no ill will towards anyone in the PAC 2. My opinion - it was the Duck's choice and they are happy with it... so am I (except I'd rather still be in the old PAC 12). Everyone else is entitled to their opinion.

This is Fun, a Civil 24/7 Message Board Between tOSU and the Ducks

It's over 700... but there were three different guys in the costume doing them throughtout the game. -
A Championship Game in the Quarterfinals is Dumb
Jon Sousa replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
The title says it all... but I am going to add my voice a little anyway. One thing no one is saying is that anOSU was also screwed over in this bracket: they have to play the Ducks in round 2. Of course, that would have been more obvious if they hadn't have lost to Michigan. Since the Ducks have beaten both anOSU and Penn State, anOSU should be on Penn State's side of the bracket so they have to go through each other to get the right to a rematch. OK. That's all I wanted to say. -
QUAAAAACK! Transfer DL Bear Alexander Commits to Oregon!
Jon Sousa replied to kirklandduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Well, yes and no. The Name, Image, and Likeness of guys who perform are a lot more valuable. Michael Jordan's contract with Nike hauled in a lot more money for him than mine did for me. Ewers was on Fanville because he was a lot more well known than Ty Thompson... and I think that was mostly because of performance on the field. -
A B1G Weekend Is at Hand. 3-0? 0-3? Something In Between?
Jon Sousa replied to Jon Joseph's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
JJ, you make me laugh! Thank you. I don't know football near enough to make any accurate predictions. My predictions are what I WANT to be the truth. So, with that in mind... I am rooting for the Whoooosays to beat the Domers. Why? Because, like the SEC, the Golden Domes are almost always overrated, (When was the last time they one a playoff game?????) and their fanbase rate them much, much higher still. I would rather play Tennessee than anOSU, but I am a conference loyalist and it will be better for our reputation to beat anOSU by a whole lot more than a point to carry us through the off season. On the other hand, again, I like the idea of going through 3 of the best SEC teams on the way to a championship, giving the SEC folks nothing to say except "It was a down year for the SEC." So that one is a toss-up in my mind. It's good or good. I want Penn State to put a beat down on SMU. -
Oregon QB Recruiting Strategy: ALWAYS Go Portal?
Jon Sousa replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
What changes the dynamic a bit is NIL. Low level teams can't pay as much as upper level. How much is Arch Manning being paid to not start the last 2 years? In his limited play time, he looks very good. His first year out of HS, he was the 3rd string QB at Texas. -
How Low are the Probabilities of Winning the Natty?

Better than anyone else... and more than a million times better than the teams that didn't make the playoffs. -
Oregon QB Recruiting Strategy: ALWAYS Go Portal?
Jon Sousa replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
anOSU beat us in the Natty with their third string QB. His first start was in the B1G championship game, his second start was in the first round of the playoffs, and this third start was against the Ducks in the Natty, which he won. We need two good backups at QB if we are going to make a run at it. I think we have two now behind DG. Will Moga be ready to back up DM and Novosad next year? Will a true freshman be that 3rd guy? We don't know. I have no problem with bringing in a portal QB, as long as it is a true competition and the guys that are already here know that they have a legitimate shot at the starting job. Will a portal QB portal out the second he realizes he isn't getting the starting job??? One thing I do know, that you cannot count on a first round draft QB to come available in the portal every year. -
Who do You Want the Ducks to Play? The Buckeyes or the Volls?
Jon Sousa replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I agree with JJ about the money... but I still want anOSU to lose and for the Ducks to play the Vols. On the other hand, I prefer for my conference (whether I like it or not) to always win OOC... especially against the SEC. -
It looks like this is what Dan Lanning did. When he took a HC job, it was for keeps. No more moving around. RS probably would not look at Sam Houston as a destination job.

2025 Schedule: Three Highly Anticipated Games
Jon Sousa replied to Smith72's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Since I saw the schedule, the game that concerns me the most is yetanotherOSU. This is not because they were a powerhouse this year, but because they are so early on the schedule. Assuming that our O-line will not be a mess early next year, we still will have a new starting QB. I hope it is either Novosad or Moore rather than a portal QB because they know the system and will only need real game snaps. The problem is that those first early snaps will come against an historically good Oklahoma State team. At least it is not the first game of the year. Montana State is a formidable enough opponent in its own right. -
What's the Future for Dante Moore at Oregon?
Jon Sousa replied to Notalot's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I trust them both. No matter who wins the QB battle, I hope the other stays. I think that Moore is more likely to leave. I also really like Moga, though he is probably another year away. I trust Dan and Will to have everybody ready to go. It's about time that we trusted in a home grown rather than a portal guy. -
He's got mine too. The only two unbiased fans here in the OBD forum. Way to go guys!

Power Ranking the Old Pac-12 (Final Edition)
Jon Sousa replied to David Marsh's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
If the LA schools would not have destroyed the PAC, it would still be together. Everything would be different than it is today (almost). Jonathan Smith would still be at OSU. They just finished the stadium and he had every reason to stay. He may have qualified for the playoff if the PAC was still together. DeBoer would have gone to Alabama and Fisch would be at Washington. Washington would be be about where it is. Dilly's team would be as good as it is, but they wouldn't have made the playoffs this year because the PAC12 would be stronger than the Big 12. ASU may have made 3rd place in the PAC and that would not do. USC might have won a couple more games in the PAC... but maybe not. USC and Colorado would have probably been fighting it out for 4th place. The Ducks would be 13-0 and maybe the only undefeated team in the country, since anOSU lost to Michigan. As the only undefeated team, they would have still gotten the top seed --- unfortunately. -
Will Oregon Take Advantage of Their "Great Opportunity?

Trojans Wire: Oregon Does Not Deserve to Play in the B1G CCG
Jon Sousa replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Clickbait for sure. However this is what Jon Joseph has been saying all year. Ain't that right Jon?? -
So, according to #2 above, the conference champion of the B1G would earn the conference $4M + $4M just for winning the conference and going to its first game win or lose = $8M. If they win the quarter and the semi to end up in the NCG, it's another $12M for a total of $20M. Said team would also get a direct payment of $3M for each game played = $9M to play in the NCG. If the B1G puts 4 teams in the playoffs, it is a minimum of $20M even if they all lose their first game ($8M for the conference champ and 3 x $4M for the rest). Depending on seeding, if the 4 teams win every game until they would have to play each other in the semi's, ending with 2 B1G teams in the NCG, the maximum payout to the B1G would be $68M ($16M + $16M + $24M + $12M).

He's Back. Brian Jones Picks Oregon to Lose Again!
Jon Sousa replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Seemed to me like he said that if PSU could score more points than the Ducks, they MIGHT win. -
Amazing to me that Riggs is just a freshman... and a former 3*. Even the best recruiting teams take 3 stars. I like the way Dan is doing it.
