I watch a lot of college football every weekend and have watched all of Alabama's games and I knew they were not one of the four best teams in the country. I was betting that LSU would expose them and thankfully they did. Brian Kelly made a great call. Nice payday to. LSU+13

He does. He was linebackers coach then DC for Bob Stoops from 99-11.

Dillingham recently had an interview with Bruce Feldman. The assistant coaches are not as available for Q & A's so I like these little nuggets.

I thought I read somewhere that DL actually came in second for the Oklahoma job behind Venables when that search was going on. I can't remember where I read that though.

That era of coaches and a whole staff staying at one place feels like a generation ago. Organizations and employee’s don’t really operate like that anymore. More of an outlier than the norm. TCU got slammed for dumping their HOF Coach but they knew more of what was happening inside the program than outsiders did. Oregon has the resources to compete nationally which is what makes the program so attractive for coaching candidates. Sometimes their not long for living in Eugene or the northwest. That’s ok. Everyone and their families needs are different. The programs strength is that it has the financial resources to compete nationally so they will always attract great candidates. We always laugh at other programs signing bad contracts but Oregon can’t fall into that trap. They don’t have the luxury of being a part of the BIG10’s media deal.

Maybe the administration would rather wait to see how Lanning performs as a head coach after losing a senior led offensive line developed by the previous staff. Or how he adapts after losing Kenny Dillingham. Seen plenty of coaches that come in and scheme up a great game plan week to week with a roster that they didn’t recruit or develop, have success and when those kids leave the coach can’t replicate the recruiting and development.

Seven is a great person. Got to meet him with other players in LV last year after the game. He will do great things. Just wasn’t a fit after the new staff took over. It happens at every program in the country. Wish him all the success in the world and I know he will make it on an NFL roster. Great young man.

This is more proof that the Pac-12 is just postponing the inevitable. Gonzaga has no confidence that league will still be around in 5 years. I agree with that assessment. Oregon has already been in discussion with BIG10 legal with regards to future admission. As soon as the invitation is made the Ducks will seek greener pastures. The only constant in life is change. The future is coming regardless. ScoDucks.

Canzano: Pac-12 and San Diego State in a Dance
Flaps2 replied to NJDuck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I don’t think San Diego is bringing much if any value to a media market distribution deal. Feels like the commissioner is desperate now. The BIG10 is probably going to need bigger brands to satisfy their media partners. Illinois at Purdue or Maryland at Rutgers isn’t going to compete with LSU at Oklahoma or Texas at Tennessee. That’s when I think the BIG10 will extend the invitation’s to join. -
Impressed with Lanning. Lost some money because I didn’t expect Oregon to cover the 17 points for a road game after such a high last week. Let down was coming.

I expect they will hit the transfer portal hard for a few more offensive lineman.

Canzano: Oregon Ducks Fueled Up on Dan Lanning
Flaps2 replied to NJDuck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Mario said he took over a 4-8 program at Oregon when being interviewed by Miami reporters this week. I assume if Herbert had not gotten injured Taggart would have won 10 games instead of 7 before Mario took over. -
Canzano: Oregon Ducks Fueled Up on Dan Lanning

Heard this same discussion in January 2020. -
He’s not coming back. He lists himself as a senior even though he can list himself as a junior. DJU could transfer from Clemson. Offense and QB development haven’t worked out there in 3 season’s. If he wants to raise his draft stock he needs to go somewhere he can pad stats like Bo did. That would transition nicely to Dante Moore.

It’s the new spelling. Oxford English Dictionary just released the updates.

The Ducks and Duck Fans are Better Off in the Pac-12 Than the B1G
Flaps2 replied to mrspenney's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Without the SoCal schools on Oregon's schedule that pipeline of prep talent will eventually dry up the same way Nebraska's pipeline into Texas did. Zero Texas schools on the schedule will do that. Staying in conference with the SoCal schools keeps them in the fold. The Big10 is the future. Not next year but 5 years from now. -

I'm already picking Oregon by 3. Home field advantage. UCLA has played ONE road game against Colorado. -
I am Surprised at the Wolfing and Showboating...Are You?
Flaps2 replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I enjoy it. Sports is entertainment. It’s getting harder to get people to attend games nationally. Baseball is hurting more than ever because some in the sport refuse to adapt the product for a more distracted potential costumer. 2022 isn’t 1962. -
