I wonder if Coach Stein will keep the playbook open, now that the Ohio State game is behind us. One of DG's biggest strengths is pushing the ball downfield. Allow him to throw the ball all over the field to E Stew, Tez, T Ferg, et al!

Good article. One thing that it didn't mention is that Oregon finally has the talent across the entire roster, specifically in the trenches, to compete with any team in the country and they proved it last night against "the most talented roster in the history of college football." The coaches have done a tremendous job on the recruiting trail (getting another 4 star DT from SoCal to commit today) and are coming into their own as game day coaches. The sky's the limit for Oregon Football with Coach Lanning at the helm. GO DUCKS!!!!

While Purdue is not a good football team, it's a classic trap game with Oregon coming off an emotional victory and having to travel to play a team on a short week. I hope Coach Lanning can get the team's focus to handle business and play to Oregon's standard (Oregon vs. Oregon). Coach Saban said that he was harder on his team after a win than a loss. I'm sure that Coach Lanning learnt a lot from Saban and Smart on how to handle these situations.

It's not just fans. Even Coach Day was blaming the officials on their calls on the last drive, during his post-game press conference. What?!!! You believe that a wide receiver can push off a DB, nearly sending him to the ground, to create separation???? Maybe OSU feels that they are entitled to every call with B1G refs. Perhaps that is why they have beaten every team in the B1G during Day's tenure, except Michigan? Oregon said "not so fast, my friend" by overcoming special team mistakes and bad officiating to win the game last night!

Texas has looked better but Oregon has by far the best win of any team in college football this season.

I really don't understand what some Duck fans expect from DG. Yes, he missed some open throws and receivers -- all QBs do. DG is a big game QB who beat Texas last season and Ohio State this season. What Oregon QB has had more success during his career, against elite opponents, than DG has? DG was brought to Oregon to win these type of games. He delivered. I could care less if he completed 50% of his passes...just win, baby! I'm not sure that Coach Lanning believed that Oregon's defense was not capable of stopping Ohio State's offense, at that point. Ohio State seemed to have all of the momentum at that time. I didn't hate the decision because, even if you don't convert, you pin their offense back deep.

It was a terrible decision and could have cost his team the game. I'm glad to see that he realizes it and hope his teammates and coaches pick him up this week. Also hope that he apologizes to the Ohio State player, learns from it and moves on.

It was a terrific football game, even for those with no stakes in the game. Just like the regular season game last year at UW - a close game that went back and forth, with a few key stops by the defense. I'm just glad that Oregon finally prevailed this time! Coach Lanning was brilliant. Make the right calls, was aggressive but also took the points, when necessary (or tried to take the points on the missed FG).

Not going to happen. Football is more important to the Ohio State University than education is. They will throw all resources to ensure that they have one of the top football programs in the country.

Great post! There are so many individual plays that go into a win like that. Kudos to the coaches and players. I heard that Oregon only had 3 penalties and no turnovers. Great time to play clean football. It seemed to me that DG was intentionally looking for other receivers against Ohio State. Not sure if Ohio State was doubling Tez or the coaches had a conversation with DG that he cannot lock onto Tez and needs to go through his progressions. You'd think that Tez would have been option #1 on that play since he went in motion but I would like to hear others' thoughts. Overall, DG played a great game - hitting some big time throws, making plays when we needed them, not turning over the ball and orchestrating a drive to take the go ahead field goal. It's a lot easier to spot the open receivers high up in the stands or on TV when you don't have 300 lb. monsters coming at you...

Oregon has now won the past two games they have played against BOTH Ohio State and Michigan.

The Pac-12 officials were bad; however, they weren't actively working against teams to favor the traditional conference blue bloods...they were just inept. We need to go to national officiating ASAP.

Coach Lanning said, in his post game press conference, that the kickoff that hit the Ohio State player was intentional. If it missed, it would have been a squib kick. I've never seen that.
