  1. But THIS guy has got magic beans Hollywood sprinkles and LA love dust. How could Lanning ever top this ?
  2. It was an arranged marriage that came with lots of children.
  3. There’s a skill set displayed in that composite Nix video that surpassed last years quarterback play. Good arm but not a +plus arm. IMHO
  4. It wasn’t overnight but I’m sensing changes in my level of confidence that this coaching staff is far more dynamic than the previous. Dillingham ;“There's nothing wrong with that philosophy it's just not the philosophy I have. I want to try to put our players in the best position to win one on ones with guys as far away from them as possible in the run game. "If those guys get too close, we're gonna have to get out of that play, trying to get ourselves in a better play with better numbers, better angles, and better grass." Theres a lot to unpack from that quote. Can any one point to that level of flexibility in anything MC ever did? This coaching staff are dynamic football minds. Right or wrong good or bad yet to be determined but they look at thing differently than the previous admin. Better play Better angles Better Grass Better Grass Ahead indeed.
  5. It’s not too different than the pros. Rich QB. Lower pay on the o lines. Comes down to culture on the team. Nobody benefits by not playing hard and unlike the NFL you will get benched even if making big NIL money for poor effort. College is turning into the minor leagues. while they might be less mature and may do exactly as you say I suspect they will get coached up on exactly these types of things and it won’t matter on game day. Really comes down to the group values aka culture.
  6. I think as NIL develops some players will recognize the ability to earn significant amounts that make them reconsider the timing to the pros. Good but not yet elite players can maximize the scholarship training and earn possibly significant money. I believe some will recognize the opportunity to stay may pay.
  7. Speed. Speed once set Oregon apart and made the Ducks a dangerous opponent. Speed kills and creates explosive plays. Oregon signed a SET of tall ultra fast talented DB prospects that already have what you can’t coach. Speed. It looks like the offense wants to run a lot of plays. Go fast. Be efficient. Pressure with explosive plays. Sounds like more Points. I’m pretty impressed with the recruiting by Lanning and the staff. With limited time and well behind others they did some really nice things. Likely not done. Looking forward to see how they coach em up and how these guys are “in game” as coaches. Week one will be an interesting barometer. Great day today. Go Ducks.
  8. Got laid on the 50 at Autzen! It was cold n rainy. She didn’t get it. The movie that is!
  9. Join the enemy become the enemy. Hope the Ducks get to shut him down in a championship game.
  10. I don’t give him the same leeway, mostly because of obvious coaching blunders, lack of preparation, and very poor in game management. Who calls timeout on first down coming out of a half? In fact, look back at all the timeouts. Never strategic. Always reactionary and tied to confusion, poor clock management, not getting plays in on time and he used all the first half timeouts many many times. Lack of preparation. He showed poor clock management in several games. Couldn’t burn :12 against Utah and they run it back for a TD. And i think player development was inconsistent. Unit development stagnated. MC never had good special teams. The bottom line is the Ducks scored much less under MC, and considering the talent, underperformed massively.
  11. Underwhelming. Underperforming unwilling to change. Under, bet it, every week. U don’t want Mario coaching Ur offense if U want to win.
  12. Mario reduced the output of one of the strongest offenses college football has ever seen. He has made multiple on field coaching blunders including the mostly reactionary timeouts, including first down on the first play of the second half. He has gone through two coordinators with previously high scoring offenses Why on earth would anyone want to coach offense for an authoritarian who has a bad track record and proven inability to coach in game. He is a potential career wrecker. Add in his ignoble departure pointing to a lack of loyalty or integrity and voila, coach cancer.
  13. To me, It’s “Bow Dow as in Bow and arrows. “Bow down” means Washington gives up, admits the hunt is over, is outta arrows, and the Duck got away snd flying high still.
  14. You cannot argue with Results. Do we want to see bigger faster Running backs? I think in some way we all do. We miss DAT’s shifty breakaway speed LMJ speed and burst. Royces power and size. But Mr Dye is as good a competitor as I’ve ever seen play the position. To be undersized, not lightning fast, and not the most shifty back we’ve seen, he does everything pretty dang well including catching everything thrown his way and has plowed pushed spun and forced his way into the Group of most elite backs ever to play at Autzen. We’d be fools not to want him back for another year, even if we want to see the young studs get the opportunity. .
  15. I stand colorected. Either way, far too often Oregon had brown stains on their backsides at the end of too many games. No wonder we haven’t see Stormpooper whites!
  16. I’m remaining quite optimistic about Coach Lanning and the staff he’s building. A new start with a commensurate recruiting and an equally motivated, younger, and proven more talented coach. Mario was only an assistant before rah rahing his way into the players hearts and the Oregon HC job. Emcee failed at his first head coaching job, tutored under some of the best but left the Bamana Republic in a lateral move to coach the Oregon o line and be the assistant head coach to one of the most unscrupulous greedy failures of a head coach in decades. Emcee like most promoters, politicians, and snake oil salesman, was a great rah rah convince everyone type of guy. The harsh reality of emcee is that his only really proven successful skill is persuasion. He talked his way into the job, convinced everyone that he’d have an explosive offense and run tempo, including to a respected and known journalist who stayed behind his initial presser to hear the lies directly. explosive diarrhea is what we got on offense. 4 years of the runs. Decreasing point totals, overwhelmingly reactionary timeouts and little to no improvement in sideline game management. How many good head coaches call timeout on first down coming out of a half? How many coaches can’t run off :12 seconds and give up punt returns for TDs when already down big? I could go all day with examples of emcees failings as a coach. But we’ve all seen enough pistol play, so I don’t want to kill the buzz here by running into a brick wall. Oregon has a fast rising proven recruiter. A coach whose risen quickly because of what he’s done as a COACH developing talent and recruiting talent and the play on the field. His resume is already better than that of an emcee. He’s still coaching in 2021 while the emcee is, well, still talking. Oregon has a more proven COACH and one whose recruited at a high level as have his new assistants. I couldn’t be more excited to see what Coach Lanning can do.
  17. Wilson RIP, running wild through the Jaqua center before heading to Autzen to tailgate. Best tailgate party crasher ever. Even I got fed. Merry Christmas Duck Fans, Duck nation as our new coach says.
  18. Charles is the Dean of students for Anonymous High School. Freshmen usually move on to become seniors. Some drop out some get expelled. Some, like myself, get detention, suspension and our knuckles rapped. But Dean Fish loves his school and is always thinking of its reputation snd saving us students from ourselves. when is senior prank day? Merry Christmas, Dean Wormer, I mean Dean Fischer.
  19. Let us not forget the coaching aspect and player development. Mario was neither an offensive nor defensive “mind” in the sense that he has zero proven offensive ability beyond his playing days at Miami. The Ducks had a head coach that only called reactionary timeouts. Called timeouts on first downs coming out of a half and didn’t have the sense to run out the click in the first half at Utah. As a result the talent he brought in stagnated. As others have pointed out the point totals dropped during his tenure. He put snow chains on the Ferrari and tried to pull a trailer of bull$ through the mud. Bo nix presents a different type of QB. The stat comparisons belie the limited offensive schemes and Oregon’s unwillingness and inability to throw down field. Bo nix looks far stronger as a downfield passer and the offense should open up considerably. Considering the talent at TE, Oregon should have been throwing over the middle often. More crossing routes, more slants to slot receivers. AB had a difficult time hitting guys in stride. Nix looks better at that. I think it’s hard to evaluate Bo nix and compare him to the present QBs on the roster until we see them all compete in an actual offense that isn’t predictable limited low scoring and boring.
  20. With all due respect, I Could not disagree more. AB wasn’t great nor was he awful. He limited most big mistakes, but proved he couldn’t win games with his passing. But he also BEAT out Tyler Shough and the others. I can't get behind 4-8 just to HOPE a backup gets some good enough experience for the next season? That might empty the stands, turn off TVs and does not do anything positive for the program. If you can’t force your way on the field you aren’t good enough yet. Compete and get better. MERITOCRACY. We’ve had bad offensive coaching since Mario cri$tob$ took over. He quite simply cannot coach offense at all. Offensively, Scoring wise, The Ducks got worse under his failed coaching and incredibly poor game management and lack of situational awareness. Anointing Nix is no more the answer than forcibly putting a QB out there who isn’t ready. The Ducks still won 10 games with a bad offensive head coach who meddled with and stifled the offense. The offense got exposed regularly. ABs maturity and mostly good decision making won a lot of games. Competition is the only way forward. If Nix wins the job let it be based on competition. I too like the idea of Ty another young QB having the job and want to see them play. BUT, they have to WIN THE JOB. We’ve all seen what can happen to a QB put out there too soon. 4-8?? No thank you. I’ll take 10-3 with a chance at 11.
  21. I want to wait until Chip Kelley’s buyout goes to 0$, pay Chip what would have been the 9 mil buyout over two years with a 3 mil a season salary and a 5 year deal with team option for more and a big buyout. Get his old custom house back and let him just coach offense and be an experienced sounding board. My .02
  22. Fox News reporting done deal.
  23. Loyalty loyalty loyalty. Just empty words. Per Fox News.
  24. The same ones that gave the Ducks no chance in Columbus? Winning it all this year would be sweeter because of them.
