  1. I think the fans ARE spoiled. Not spoiled rotten like they are ungrateful but once there was a time when any bowl would have been welcomed, the Rose Bowl a pinnacle. Expectations have changed permanently based on results obtained through a different previous mindset. Now it’s natty or bust it seems. I am disappointed too. But at 5-1 and controlling ones destiny i can admit I am spoiled by previous success and my expectations have adjusted unnaturally as a result.
  2. I totally get it. I guess I see Mario as an offensive lineman whose first shot at head coaching was rough, then as you said gained valuable experience from Alabama and has proven himself a superior recruiter but is still developing albeit a bit late as an in game coach and offensive mind. When JM went down MC wasn’t the next best play calling option. Perhaps he’s reached his developmental ceiling but I sure hope not.
  3. People have tasted filet and are no longer satisfied with ground chuck. The cupboards were bare, we got tagged by another’s greed, and have a former o lineman assistant head coach who like his young team is also still learning his craft. This program is still two season from being a MC team. Duck fans are spoiled. Not only because we’ve seen what great offense can be, but because of the riches in facilities and yes the repeat winning of the offseason, which, if it continues should start to produce more consistently with more snaps. The team is 5-1, in the drivers seat and getting healthier and more experienced weekly. Great test this weekend.
  4. Splatter?? Splatter. Ma gawd.
  5. Those were the two I was thinking. Seven and Dontae. Neither on the field much. I just don’t see real speed at WR, RB, TE. to be fair the TE group hasn’t had a lot of opportunity to stretch the field and show off any speed.
  6. On offense who are the Ducks fastest players? Speed Kills in College Football. LMJ, DAT could away from everyone. Does Oregon possess anyone on offense that similarly can run away from just about everyone?
  7. Excellent point. They’ll get some but game reps matter.
  8. I didn’t think so, for you. However, why aren’t our more physically talented WR RB and QBs seeing the field? Experience? Or talent? Part of my argument is that the inexperience of youth is keeping better talent sidelined. Do you believe Redd, Johnson, Dye and AB are the best we can do physically? Would you agree they are less naturally gifted compared to young guys behind them? The “talent” seems to be waiting in the wings and only not seeing the field because of experience.
  9. Exactly. NCAA is filled with guys that physically peaked early like Canton but don’t have it over time and guys like Justin and Marcus that work to be great and develop their bodies in college. it’s why I love college football. I live the unknowns creating playing time and forcing their way on the field. maybe that’s part of our frustration. We raise our expectations based on ratings and not remembering these are boys becoming men and others less gifted will grow and work hard to be better than the 5*
  10. Exactly. The Ducks lack speed height and strength at senior WR and even RB. The young recruits look amazing but not all have forced their way on to the field. As much as I love the following players, they need to be replaced with better physical talents/ specimens. Redd Johnson Dye Verdell AB speed kills on offense and the Ducks don’t have one player with proven ability to outrun everyone on the field. LMJ, KB, DAT. hopefully seven but at under 200lbs.... not certain he’s a 20 touch a game guy
  11. If I’m not mistaken, I believe our boreloved Ducks are STILL one of the youngest most inexperienced teams in the nation. How much weight or allowance should fans give that fact when evaluating performance? Personally it’s one of the reasons I’m not apoplectic about the lack of consistency. Two years from now if the results are similar, then I’ll Blow up! Curious if others believe it’s a significant factor or more that coaches aren’t getting it done.
  12. Was under the impression he did attempt an religious exemption. denied that exemption. id elaborate but as the chinese say I don’t want to get “invited to tea” for violating the rules, again
  13. Overly Bitter Ducks Outrageously beneficial discussions ostentatious belligerent drivel our boring Ducks oh wait our beloved Ducks.
  14. Accountability. The games don’t happen without the fan$. Booing displeasure is exactly what is called for when it’s displeasing. It’s neither disrespectful or even unwarranted on many occasions. If the team are such snowflakes as to get upset or undone by booing bad play then there is a far deeper culture problem at Oregon. withdrawl symptoms are pretty powerful. MC took away some of our Saturday dopamine fix and replaced it with angst and frustration still 5-1 but just not that entertaining a football product as previous iterations.
  15. I guarantee that any pessimism caused by such a poll will be far outweighed by that pessimism coming to actual fruition.
  16. Heck just snap it out the back for a safety and punt away with :02 Lost Fumble in the end zone was the only bad possible outcome and the Ducks called the formation to allow it. who do coaches turn to for coaching on how to coach?
  17. They are winning, and winning matters most. However, I’m tired of hearing how great and physical and disciplined and hard working they are. I’d rather hear MC talk em down and have them play up, than hear all the rah rah and see an undisciplined team that isn’t maximizing talent struggle against lesser talent. This game should have been over in the first quarter. It took until the last two seconds to beat a 1-4 team at home after a bye. C’mon.
  18. There were no moderators to hug so I went to Hooters. If they WERE moderators they now feel quite appreciated. Wondering though, with a 99.5% success rate will you be requiring vacillation and shots for boosters?
  19. They are 5-1 and largely control their destiny but this Ducks offense isn’t doing anything against talented well coached defenses. AB is solid but unspectacular. He made one big throw yesterday. For a TD but the bottom line is Redd and Johnson are experienced but lack physical dominance, like Devon Williams who had a nice game. At 5’9” 175 lbs you are at a disadvantage at wr unless you can out run, out quick, or out muscle your way to being open. Why the Ducks couldn’t run earlier, more and use less QB runs escapes me. Ducks should have run all day on Cal. AB made some great plays on the ground but seems to lack field vision, targets receivers with his eyes and misses the read often enough to hurt in close games. I'm most worried that another week our MC preaches, we eagerly suck it up, and then watch the same boring offensive product another week. It’s one great thing to coach up 1-3 star players and win but feels worse to have to loaded roster and feel like each week we’re getting less than the full capability. The intuitive overall feeling is of a very average team not meeting expectations and allowing opponents to dictate. And the clock management, AGAIN???
  20. I just think that with two plus minutes to go you work to score first. Burn clock inside their 20 not on your 40. reactionary timeouts again. Unforced errors galore.
  21. Only thing coming out angry are season ticket holders who wants to pay to watch this repeat performance? im still on board but there are plenty of areas where this team needs big improvement.
  22. Let’s face it. The Ducks as an entertainment product is diminished caliber viewing. Fast hard finish is no more. That was a wasted two minute drill capped beautifully by a fumble. that the clock management hasn’t yet been figured out is a huge red flag. Is MC trying to get himself better each week. Not seeing it. defense looks are more varied with more personnel but not exactly Georgia like.
  23. D45-24 3,2 350 passing split between multiple QBs.
  24. Smarter FASTER and tougher when required. The Ducks don’t confuse anyone, out tempo anyone, run away from anyone and don’t seem to be adept at forcing the issue against lesser teams. Speed kills in college particularly against inexperienced defenders. Ducks don’t have speed on offense and it shows.
