Charles Fischer Administrator No. 1 Share Posted Wednesday at 04:42 PM It cracks me up, but the activity of posting this year is less than prior years! A year that was thought to be memorable, and is turning into one and....less discussion? I was pondering it with NJDuck, and realized that it is only natural; in the past we had "Prevent Offense" problems, or major injuries, or a loss we should not have had, or something to gripe about and beat-to-death. By contrast, this year it is boringly efficient, and while I love it, I do admit there is less to discuss. 1 Mr. FishDuck
jrw Moderator No. 2 Share Posted Wednesday at 04:52 PM I was not going to comment on this, in order the keep the trend going, but for me these are the Good Old Days. Maybe not much to complain about or argue about, but a lot to savor and feel good about on a daily basis. #1 in the country week after week, impressive victories game after game, a bright future for the program: it's all good and it doesn't happen very often. Time to sit back and enjoy it. 1 5
David Marsh No. 3 Share Posted Wednesday at 04:55 PM Bama games were pretty boring as well under Saban. Also... can we break that 40 points threshold please? I mean it's probably somewhat by design that we aren't... but that's really my only complaint so far.

30Duck No. 6 Share Posted Wednesday at 06:00 PM This is where we are, that boring, sloppy, underperforming 21 point win over Mayland had a rumblin' no stumblin' dash by a 296 lbs DL on a fake punt, and scoring passes to a pair of OL's. Pretty sure no other team will do that, and that game was the "worst" OBD have had in the last 7. While I'm at the Forum with Decorum with all my Duck friends, I think about the Purdue fans, Northwestern. What are they thinking about?

Those plays certainly gave the Ducks a nice spark in the 3rd quarter and got a touchdown and 2pt conversion for it. Against a foe that it felt like why would Lanning want to show this off. Though I suspect he wants that stuff on film for opposing teams so they have to spend time and effort to prepare against it even if they are unlikely to see it. It's also why we see the Ducks fan out for a 2pt conversion all the time but rarely actually snap the ball for it. Waste opponents time.. and considering how vanilla the offense has been at times this year, gotta make the opposing coordinators work on some weird stuff. Drake Moderator No. 8 Share Posted Wednesday at 06:43 PM Not just #1, a unanimous #1 in both polls, which is very cool, since this is a first. Difficult to be critical, or complain. I will sit back and admire what this team has done, and remain cautiously optimistic looking forward. As DL reminds his team every week….they can’t control the narrative of what others say, or think…FEBU, do your job, talk with your pads, and let’s go play some football. 1

I am in agreement with that, the rest of the play calls were plain vanilla, don't show anything new. Except, make the opposing teams have to plan for the one-off play calls, like offensive lineman catching touchdowns, to waste time.

Lol...isn't there a television commercial currently running about a bank being "boring" and how "boring" is actually what you want?! Well if I have to be "bored" all the way to the National Championship, then bring it on! Cause I have had more than my fair share of "Duck Stress" to last the rest of my lifetime. I could use a little "boring". 1 1

I get it that a lot of fans aren't excited about a team that can't get to 40. Yeah, they win, but where's the explosion? tomato-tomahto is the only way I can put it in this forum. If being 10-0 is boring, like "Happy" just posted, I'll take it year after year. The explosion plays are great, being up 42-10, at halftime was fun. But I'm enjoying this team and season more than any I can remember.

Solar No. 18 Share Posted Wednesday at 08:56 PM I'm not bored, but it certainly gives us less to talk about. Everyone talking about the scandalous rankings, but Oregon isn't part of that. Things haven't been perfect for the team, but while we win big, there isn't as much dry powder for critical takes. Hence less posting. I am concerned about our Offensive performance against speed bump Maryland, and the wear and tear accumulation at this point. Fingers crossed that the players have it in them to maintain focus and play hard while worn out, yet somehow don't get more injuries.. 1

RickDuck No. 20 Share Posted Wednesday at 09:02 PM Not really boring ... maybe people are quiet, not wanting to jinx this mojo too much. It's an awesome time to be a Ducks fan ... still winning while the others stub their toes, but I am uncomfortably waiting for the big sad loss ... oww! If it happens soon (UW or UW), then we avoid the extra game probably (BIG Championship) - this would not be bad. The loser gets the extra game ... and I'm not sure we can beat the Bucks twice (or maybe more) in one year. Out of 130 teams, this is impressive and I would love to see a 16-0 squad (wow, alot of games for a student) and that would make them the best team in the history of college football (arguably). Of course, we'll hear that Phil bought this team, but who cares? Go Ducks, and please blow out a team in the 1st half for once!!

woundedknees No. 25 Share Posted Wednesday at 11:03 PM Not bored, at least in NY case... just getting over a case of shingles, so I may have been distracted for a couple weeks. As far as OBD, I love what I'm seeing. A great, though flawed team of brothers working through their issues. It's incredible witnessing DL and company mature into something the PAC that was never really experienced. Besides I'd rather be bored than beachy all the time. It's easier on my digestive system!
