Posted December 10, 2024Dec 10 Miami with their all-in season, with the best QB they've had in decades, is relegated to the PopTart bowl. The Miami fans aren't happy. Here's the link to their forum discussing their pastry game against Iowa State: So, do you think this is the highest ceiling that Miami can reach under MC? How many players will opt out of that bowl game for them? How is this season going to affect their recruiting?

December 10, 2024Dec 10 Cristobal is 0-1 against Iowa State. That Fiesta Bowl the Ducks went to against Iowa State was an outright embarrassment. Sure, it was the 2020 season that was a mess in so many ways. But I have never seen an Oregon team so woefully under prepared than that Fiesta Bowl team. Miscommunication, players being in the outright wrong place and just dropping the football and making bad decisions. Most of us have forgotten about that game for good reason.

Miami getting knocked out of the playoff and ending up in the Pop-Tarts Bowl or the fact that Cam Ward just doubled down on it: "You about to see the best thing that ever happened in the Pop-Tarts Bowl" Ward said. December 11, 2024Dec 11 The only thing I know for sure is Mario is frosted about losing to teams he should have beaten. I think the pop tart bowl festivities are top shelf. It's become a cult classic overnight. Much better than the reliaquest bowl Bama and Michigan ended up with.

I don't recall many games that Mario coached teams were prepared for. I still remember the game at Stanford when Joe Moorehead fell seriously ill and Mario had no plan. The Ducks had no clue what to do and it showed. I sat behind the bench and the coaches looked like the keystone cops. That was it for me with Mario.

December 29, 2024Dec 29 Gotta hand it to the Pop Tart Bowl... They went all out on bowl branding and this was an incredible showing by Pop Tarts. I mean the trophy was also a toaster. They had sprinkle decorations on the field. They had a Pop Tart mascot be incinerated and turned into a cooked pop tart that was then consumed by the winning players. It was the least Mario Cristobal Bowl Game ever! But it featured Mario Cristobal! Freaking amazing!
December 29, 2024Dec 29 I wondered how this thread would go down over here. I figured Mario would be a big subject for sure and I have to say that I was actually glad when he bolted for Miami. His game management left me cold. My comment was going to be about Ward however. How a guy can leave his teammates twisting in the wind in a winnable football game is beyond me. This is the ultimate in self-centeredness. If I am an NFL GM looking to draft a QB, Ward's actions tonight reflect, and not positively, on his character. Next QB up!
