Charles Fischer Author Administrator No. 2 Share Posted 20 hours ago The original weather forecast earlier in the week was for a good chance of rain, but it looks cloudy with the sun breaking through. Charles Fischer Author Administrator No. 4 Share Posted 19 hours ago Touchdown already! I look forward to breaking that play down, as technically… There was significant holding by Matthew Bedford, on the play and it was consequential. 1 Mr. FishDuck

DanLduck No. 13 Share Posted 17 hours ago I didn't think Moore was the best qb. I thought Austin Novosad looked good. Even Luke Moga was good. And I like Akili Smith's potential. We have a true qb competition. What think the rest of you? 1

EastBayDuckDad Moderator No. 18 Share Posted 14 hours ago (edited) This was the best spring game in recent memory for me. I need to watch the replay at home to be sure. So much talent on both sides of the ball. Nothing like the roar of F-15s overhead to get things going. A few first impressions: The game seemed a bit more defense oriented. Offense had the benefit of several holding calls that went unflagged. Both starting QBs played fine, Novosad perhaps a bit better but he had Pancho at center and World at LT, both were stellar. World is the real deal. Battled Matayo to a draw several times. Sadiq will be a beast regardless of who is the QB. The power of a TE with the speed and athleticism of a big WR. Best athlete out there today. Dakorien Moore is as advertised, but McClelland and Gresham had good games as well. No Stewart and Dickey was invisible until the end of the game. Transfer WR Benson dropped a gimme pass that he will hate to watch on film. Ploog may carve out a small role at TE The RBs all ran well. Noah looks back to form and he and Hughes will be a great 1-2 punch. Lamar looked bigger and better than last year, and "Dink" could be the '3' back as well. On the D side, Washington and Purchase played solid, as did Grey. Alexander blew up an OG once into the QBs face and will be a good Harmon/Caldwell sub if he carries this to the fall. Nice scoop and score by Purchase on the Harris fumble, which Obedegwu forced. Mixon very quick on his blitzes. Flowers was a standout on several tackles, leveling Sadiq after a hurdle. Sadiq got payback later in the game, leveling Flowers on a tackle. Thieneman was very saavy and active but did overrun one play in the backfield. Offord and McNutt each had nice PBUs. It was good to see Florence back. The DB room looks solid even with all the new faces Sappington had a nice day but RSFr Hurych impressed, connecting on two FGs (51yd long) and a couple TBs on kickoffs. He has a low kick trajectory but a howitzer leg. Ross struggled with his first three punts, making me think that Dunne would lament transferring out, but his last two punts weren't bad after he adjusted something on his release. Plenty of other good (and a few bad) things I'm forgetting, but this team is loaded with talent and it occurred to me that each split squad was probably better than half the teams Oregon would face in 2025. Just Ducky No. 20 Share Posted 12 hours ago Dante Moore was average at best, Austin was good and Moga is a scary good athlete. Smith jr. shows promise as well. Secondary played well and eased my apprehension about that group. Lots of scary good athletes on the field. Are they as good as last year? Maybe except for QB but maybe I’m misjudging Dante. Time will tell. Rally looked good as always and the F15 flyover was amazing as was Shout. Great to be back at Autzen again. Go s
Charles Fischer Author Administrator No. 21 Share Posted 12 hours ago Last year was the first Spring Game ever for me that ALL four QBs looked good. Absolutely and I have complete faith that this year's team is going to have a solid starter at QB and a equally as solid backup. I look forward to learning who wins the competition. Though I can see why Moore and Novosad are the front runners. Moga looked good as well. I think the Ducks have a very good three deep.
EastBayDuckDad Moderator No. 23 Share Posted 10 hours ago I humbly disagree that Moore was only average. His O-line was more porous than the one Novosad had and he was pressured more as a result. When he had the time he was accurate and found Sadiq repeatedly. I'm thrilled that OBD will have two starting caliber QBs with a greatly improved (and Marcus like) Moga in the three spot. Hopefully they will all stay put at Oregon. 1
Jon Joseph Moderator No. 24 Share Posted 6 hours ago Fun exercise with help for worthy causes. I'm happy Dan went with a traditional spring game format. Dan and Will Stein kept their cards close to the vest. We saw mix-and-match squads on the field. Again, it was fun to watch, but I have no idea how the first-string O-line is meshing together, and that's just fine. We'll see the starters on both sides of the ball on 8/30. The day was even better thanks to the Men and the Women Diamond Ducks.
Mike West No. 25 Share Posted 3 hours ago OBD are definitely top five material. Lots to clean up, but the talent is there to make some noise. We’re looking at a team in the talent range of the 23’ unit and last year’s team. The schedule is set up perfectly, as it will allow for personnel development. The key games come at junctures that should coincide with said development. I like what I saw. Too much to go into, but I absolutely believe the future is bright for OBD. 1 1

Smith72 Moderator No. 27 Share Posted 2 hours ago Everything Coach Lanning said after Spring game. What Dan Lanning Said After Oregon Ducks Spring Game WWW.SI.COM The Oregon Ducks competed in their annual spring game on Saturday, April 26, in Autzen Stadium, and Ducks coach Dan Lanning spoke to the media after the scrimma Good to see the coaches adapt to the team they have now, and not try to make the fit a system that worked for different personnel! "One, it's completely different group. So I think there's a lot of new experience there. So I think you're going to start with saying, okay, 'What can we operate and what can we execute?' It's not gonna be the same as last season. And even the season before that, our our number one call on defense, was different than it was this past year, so we'll adapt that to fit our personnel. Biggest thing I want to see is guys out there communicating." 1
