Posted March 2, 20223 yr According to John Canzano of The Oregonian: Oregon Ducks director of player personnel Don Johnson Jr. suffered a heart-related medical emergency on Monday. He remains hospitalized. Hope things will be okay.
March 2, 20223 yr I read this afternoon that Don was airlifted to Portland and is waiting for a heart transplant!!🙏
March 3, 20223 yr Moderator Wow. If he had a massive MI and required airlift to OHSU for a ventricular assist device from heart failure, that could be in preparation for a transplant. I hope that isn't the case as the outcomes for that can be pretty grim, but most everything else could have been handled here without the need for transfer. Just speculating and I hope I'm wrong.
March 3, 20223 yr Prayers for healing and wholeness for Coach Johnson. Hoping for courage, endurance and a return to a good quality of life.
March 4, 20223 yr Only good thoughts for this guy. We talk about the money these guys make and the passion for the game they have. Not often enough do we reflect on the hours and stress they go through. Hoping some Duck magic happens for Don over the coming hours, days and weeks!
April 29, 20223 yr Approaching two months in the hospital from the looks of this Instagram post. https://www.instagram.com/tv/Cc6tBB2l6WD/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY=
