Yes, I know he began in the east, and then traveled to Arizona State, and then went to the South.  But when you love football and THIS sport this much...

He’s actually doing a very “Western” thing. Fishing addiction is just as big a disease in Oregon as it is down South. The tug is the drug.

Um... hello???? Totally a Northern Thing too people!!! Jeeeeshhh!!!! 😎

Wait till he finds out there aren't any catfish in the Willamette.

I was waiting for this community to pounce on that!  Fishing is a great sport everywhere, and if he thinks they have great bass in the south...come to Ten Mile Lake on the Oregon coast!

I LOVE how he is embracing our lifestyle and values right-off-the-bat. Such a great example to players from the urban areas that fun can be had away from video games!

(Do you think he knows where the slew is that Justin Herbert caught that carp?)

I'm pretty sure people can suffer from Carp-pull-tunnel from fishing too much. It's amazing how Herbert managed to dodge those injuries.

My turn....

Coach Lanning, carp(e) dium!

I'm confused. I thought Southerners caught fish primarily with their hands . . .

I heard they mostly used dynamite and nets.

Wait till he hits the coast and fills a crab pot and fishes for Ling Cod. Now, THAT is a great day! Throw in some Sea Bass for some fun and what is better?

He’s going to soil himself if he ever hooks into a sturgeon. He’s going to have to hit the lower Willamette for one of those, though.

Hush puppy, hush y'all. Any collard greens sold in the local grocery stores? Black eyed peas? Hoppin' John?

Probably doesn't matter; Eugene tells me that Sir Jack of Daniels is available.

In my Ute I worked at Louis as a dish washer. Don’t tell anyone but a lot of chicken went into that slew. I saw carp big enough to scare you.
