Posted November 12, 20222 yr Administrator Here we are my friends, the thread for discussing the actual game as it happens. Let's discuss before, and during the game! The vast majority of you are GREAT in this thread, but you must remember that this forum is different, as we require civilized discussion. Rule No. 31d covers GameDay thread conduct, and it is not hard for the vast majority of us--just a tiny few who need to reign it in. Let's Have Fun Posting During the Game! Mr. FishDuck
November 13, 20222 yr I’m nervous about the matchup between UW’s passing attack and UO’s pass defense. That said, GO DUCKS!!
November 13, 20222 yr Had Phenix wrapped up, should have been 4th and long...gotta close those out!!!
November 13, 20222 yr To look at the bright side, we can only drop 4 more spots nationally with 3rd down defense!
November 13, 20222 yr Oregon better tighten up the defense. If they cannot stop the pass, they will lose this game.
November 13, 20222 yr Moderator WRs consistently wide open in the middle of the field. Oregon needs better pass coverage in that area.
November 13, 20222 yr Moderator DeBoer is a smart coach; the Huskies' long drives keep Oregon from getting the ball, much less scoring.
November 13, 20222 yr No pass rush pressure yet. I'm sure the Huskies are happy to see a 3 and 4 person rush. Dropping 8 tends to be less a problem for a crafty veteran QB with an arm.
November 13, 20222 yr This is NOT how thing are supposed to go! Even when they're right, I 🤢 PAC12 refs...
November 13, 20222 yr Moderator Omg why did they have to try and get cute there? Just run the darn ball in!
November 13, 20222 yr Why! Why would you do that, just set up normally and do a QB sneak, instead we're rushing to get set again and snap the ball, horrible horrible decision.
November 13, 20222 yr They tried that trick formation before and ran out of time...that's just stupid. Just run it, but outside. Red zone turnovers...our D better figure it out quick or this game is a LOSS. They are playing our clock control game.
November 13, 20222 yr Moderator We haven't had one of those nerve wrecking games in a while. Don't like it.
November 13, 20222 yr Nix should got everyone lined up quickly and snapped the ball before the refs could review the spot on that questionable 1st down. An experienced QB would have been aware of that.
November 13, 20222 yr Moderator OBD just proved they can run the ball right down the puppies' throat. They need to keep doing that then pass the ball to make them pay for stacking the box. Keep it simple and effective, not cute.
November 13, 20222 yr Moderator Gonzo had that ball! Can the ball be taken away as long as it doesn't touch the ground?
November 13, 20222 yr Moderator And right when I posted they went cute. DeBoer would have been ready for the inside kick, just gave them really great field position...
November 13, 20222 yr DL should have challenged. DL dropping the ball. Don’t like the onside kick call.
November 13, 20222 yr We will see how this coaching staff makes game time adjustments at half. Right now fuskies are dictating the game in many aspects.
November 13, 20222 yr Moderator Feels like Dillingham's play calling is off this game. He's making some pretty questionable decisions.
November 13, 20222 yr Could be worse, have to pound the ball, have to play a smarter ball game. This first drive is going to be so important since if we can score a TD we'll gain some momentum. I get the feeling neither team is very happy right now.
November 13, 20222 yr I think the Ducks are playing better when not hurrying up on offense. The rush is getting it done. They look more composed then. Coach DeBoar is the most under composed FBS Coach I've seen this year. He looks really nervous. Fundamental football can beat the Pups. No need to out trick them.
November 13, 20222 yr Fusky is playing there best ball of the year. Ducks hurt themselves losing the ball inside the 1. Hands to the face hurt but only 2 penalties committed. That pick was Gonzos. Ducks should be up 10 right now. Slight adjustments and Ducks cover

Agree, just pound the rock and beat the pups into submission!
November 13, 20222 yr One 15 yd penalty cost us a touchdown, settled for a field goal One fumble on the two yard line cost us a touchdown An interception that wasn't allowed them to get a touchdown Don't understand the onside kick which gave them a field goal. Also don't understand going on 4th down with 45 seconds in the half which gained nothing.
November 13, 20222 yr Moderator Finally some common sense play calling. Some runs to move the chains and set up the long pass for a TD. That will be there all night long. Hopefully they keep doing it.

November 13, 20222 yr So, I've said time and again linebackers need to cover the man, not the QB. #2 Johnson just demonstrated my point. He goes to the flat to take away an out route. The TE slides inside and Penix hits him for a 1D. If Johnson finds the TE instead, he takes away that option. I am not pleased with DCs that don't emphasize taking away options by getting their LBs to cover receivers. Nobody can watch the QB and find the guy they are supposed to cover.
