  3. Here's my "entry" to the name the rivalry contest:
  4. Some More on the Chaos Front from SI - Of course, all of this stuff means every favorite will win and cover, right? 👌👍😁 Fine with me, I want to watch a PO game in Autzen. Dear Pat, Indiana plays Purdue on Friday night, not Saturday. Really a witch to check and get right, right? 🤬 It's OK, and have a really swell day. 😁 SICollege Football Playoff Scenarios Leave Room for Chaos i...Nothing is set in stone in the CFP, but there are a few near-locks (and lots of potential drama) as we await the final decisive slate of the regular season.

  7. Took my son to a game at fusky stadium years ago. Walking back to car, after our win, three skinny drunk fusky students grabbed my Duck hat and told me to try to take it back from them. I should have walked away, but having wrestled for years, I took that challenge. After a short skirmish, I got my hat back from the moron that grabbed it. Luckily for me, the other two kids stayed out of it. I still have that hat. During the Hate the fuskys week, I usually get a text from my son asking if I wrestled any kids in the parking lot.
  8. I will say that #54 Mixon had a gear that I didn’t think he did when he ran down Lemon on that swing pass. The outside contain that Oregon showed against U$C was outstanding and shut down most of their options. Fusky doesn't have as many deep or lateral weapons as the Trojenz and if the edges can keep Williams from busting loose from the pocket it will be a lot harder for him to find targets against the Duck secondary. D Jackson has the speed to be a spy but would have to play with a discipline that he hasn't always shown. Theinemen certainly can as long as it doesn't leave a safety sized gap in the middle. Mixon might very well be able to be that spy if he stays on the field for passing downs.
  9. The Cascade Clash? I'm okay with it, but I also didn't get a vote.. I would think our Forum Friends here could come up with a clever one. Cascade Brigade or Tirade... The Northwest Test.. The Border Problem... I can't think of anything significantly better.... Go Ducks!
  10. I read Bill McGurn's WSJ article and he makes the salient points that anyone following FBS CFB has known for ages. He is correct about Brian Kelly and in identifying the wild west character of the crazy money and dissociation from traditional collegiate sports. He is error when he thinks that the NCAA should police and oversee the new landscape, not recognizing that it was the NCAA missteps that in large part created the current situation.

  14. "On November 1, 2023, the NCAA announced it was investigating several high-profile programs for potential violations of academic standards. details of the investigations were not released, but the NCAA stated it was taking the allegations seriously. Further investigations were launched on November 15, 2023, focusing on improper benefits received by athletes. The amounts and specific nature of these benefits were not released". I personally don't think the NCAA has a leg to stand on anymore. I think it's their way of trying to stay relevant. The rules were so foggy after the SCOTUS ruling that I don't know the NCAA's findings will stand up to the numerous appeals that they will face. However, I defer to the lawyers on this site.
  15. This is one downside to the conference championship game. The other is losing and being eliminated from the playoff.
  16. Totally agree. This has been an Oregon DL controlling the LOS by committee. The reason is simple: we’ve faced a fair number of mobile QBs, Williams most likely being at the top of the list. . And, with our rotational depth, I look to see us wearing them down in the 4th, further limiting check down time, and forcing him into obvious scramble/run situations.

  20. Who named it the Cascade Clash?! I mean, it's not bad, but I didn't get a vote! It's more like a Border War than clash. I'm just glad coach Lanning realizes the importance of this one, and wants the win as bad as we do. I don't believe in cruelty to animals, so we best put these mutts down fast! Sco Ducks! Whip them puppies!

  24. Lanning on the rivalry "It's one that I struggled with early on while I was here. To start, they had some success against us, so it means a lot to me. It's one I want to have some success in," Lanning started. "It's definitely an important rivalry for us. This game means a lot. It's probably the No. 1 question I get when I'm out on the road with donors and support groups and talking about our university, is about this game." After taking early lumps, Dan Lanning says Oregon-Washington rivalry 'means a lot to me

  26. I’m with you. Just pointing out there are some pretty big pluses in the macro if we somehow make the conference title game. I’m personally not in accounting with the athletic department, so windfalls don’t really get me anything selfishly. The path with a home game is probably the easier path with the current format, so that is 💯 what I want!
