  2. That’s a bold prediction and I hope you’re right. It will be interesting to see if Oregon is able to run on the Texas Tech defense early or needs to pass to open up the running game. Can the O-line protect Dante long enough to set up big plays down the field and, if not, does Coach Stein move the pocket, which I haven’t seen him do much, or rely on short to intermediate passes?
  3. Phil Steele is just another cog in a media machine that spits out the same narrative every year. This year he put the blue bloods in the pre-season top 10 and called it a day. Of his top 5 teams he only got Ohio State correct. I think most of us in this forum could match that. Of the remaining eight teams he only got Bama, UGA and Ohio State correct.
  4. Oregon 27-24 1 TO 2 Sacks 220 air yards, but they count for scores A rock fight that OBD wins late
  5. In OT, USC had the ball 1st & goal on the TCU 2 yard line... and they had to settle for a field goal. They suck. And they've given our conference the only bowl blemish we have. Still, and even with USC sucking so badly, the B1G at 6-1 in the bowl games is pretty dog-gone impressive. Especially when we consider that the super-mighty SEC is a pathetic 2-5.
  6. It looks like Oregon could be looking for another WR coach. Douglas played at Michigan and then transferred to Rutgers. He’s done a great job, but I’m sure DL can find another good coach if he decides to leave. The WR room has a lot of upside to say the least.
  7. I told my friend that Lincoln was a terrible coach, as I said their team would lose their bowl game. I walk that back! He's just mediocre. He should quietly leave SuC and ask Daddy Lanning for a job as an offensive assistant coach! He might just learn how to actually coach and recruit for a team...
  8. My #1 rule for analyzing bowl games: “Never analyze bowl games.” Only place to draw conclusions re: the greatest Conference debate is the CFP. Only those teams are fully staffed with players and coaches that are all motivated to win.
  9. Taking away the explosive front 7 of Texas Tech's defense is a good strategy. Oregon Ducks On SIThe One Thing That Could Define Oregon Ducks vs. Texas TechThe Oregon Ducks are set to play the biggest game in the program’s history since a 2011 National Championship appearance against the Auburn Tigers. 11. In OT, USC had the ball 1st & goal on the TCU 2 yard line. And they had to settle for a field goal. They seriously suck. Oh well... at least the B1G is still, so far, 6-1 in bowl games.
  12. Mike, you spoke the silent part out loud! This game has the makings of a rout. The rout will happen if 2 critical components are executed by OBD's: First, the Duck offensive line must keep Dante upright and give him time to flow thru his reads. Mike you recognized the glaring speed advantage the Ducks skill position players have over the TT secondary. Dante needs protection and he will deliver! Second, the Duck defense must hold the edges. MU and TT must force the Red Raiders run game into the strength of the defense. Play clean and disciplined, win the battle on first and second down. TT is not strong or efficient in 3rd down and long. Force TT to be one dimensional on offense and OBD's win! GO DUCKS......
  13. Thanks, Mike. I trust your insight, and I hope (can't let Hugh Bris in the door) you are spot on. Pac-12 and West Coast college sports guru Jon Wilner agrees with you. I'd feel better if the B12 wasn't 3-0 in its bowl games to date. Good wins by BYU and Houston. TCU took advantage of SC not finishing. Shocking, right? Wreck Tech!
  14. My Dear Duck friends, I have watched enough film this week that I am resting very well these days. Film doesn’t lie. So much so, that I had to watch some games twice to make sure I wasn’t biased in my opinion about Texas Tech. I don’t believe the Red Raiders have the horses to make this a close game. ... Oregon Will Romp Because Texas Tech is a Fraud
  15. 2025-26 Bowl Record by Conference (through 12/30): Big 12 3-0 Big Ten 6-1 AAC 4-3 ACC 4-4 CUSA 4-3 MAC 2-3 Sun Belt 3-6 Mountain West 2-5 SEC 2-5 Pac 12 1-0* Independent 0-1* *Only 1 bowl team https://www.threads.com/@brett_mcmurphy/post/DS6pp7YlRjS/conference-bowl-records-thru-tuesday-big-big-ten-aac-acc-cusa-mac-sun-belt Curious what ESPN is saying about the SEC’s bowl record? They have been pumping them up all season as the best and deepest conference. The conference’s bowl record, thus far, indicates otherwise…

  17. I think Michigan will be scary good in 2-3 years under Whit.
  18. Ducks 21-13 2 (1 TO each) 2 Sacks 275 passing yards
  19. Leave it to Riley to be the sole blemish on the B1G. Just think how scary USC would be with Whit in charge.
  20. After a 10 point lead tin the 4th quarter, USuC snatches defeat from the jaws of victory!
  21. One of the firmer ticket price bowls is upstate on Wednesday. Iowa vs Vanderbilt in Tampa is one of the few bowls holding firm on get-in price. Not exactly an easy drive for Vandy...700 miles....but their fans are feeling some success. Iowa fans always travel, especially when the destination is sunshine and 70 degrees in comparison to snow drifts at home.
  22. Well, I expect they'll want to avoid T teams in bowl games after: Texas, Tulane, TCU, Tech(Georgia) in recent years.
  23. Oregon has a great fanbase, but I imagine last week's home playoff ticket wasn't cheap. Flying to Miami, getting a hotel room, and buying a ticket are a bundle. The travel alone will price out a lot of people. These people who write these stories don't list traveling, lodging, and food prices. Especially on New Years Day, Miami isn't cheap on a random day in September. Texas Tech doesn't really have a large traveling fanbase like Notre Dame, Penn State, or Ohio State, to offset the Oregon travel dilemma either.
  24. You can add TCU to SUC’s we’re not gonna play you anymore list.
  25. But 0-1 in playoff games, and hopefully 0-2 after Thursday .
  26. If a team blows the B1G perfect record in bowls sUc was definitely my vote 😄
