Sources: Big Ten Mulling $2B Private Capital Deal
Beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing. Let’s see…Private equity looks at ways they can improve the BIG 10 (they just want to make money), all you have to do is sell us equity rights, in something that is very hard to value. The problem is that each University brings a different valuation to the table. Therefore, you immediately set up an argument over proper valuation, and distribution. Absolutely no way this goes smoothly.

Oregon Football: Is Moore the Best in the Country?
Alex, great article and so much to unpack out of it. Looking forward to reading the FORUM posts that should come in today. The elephant in the room, in your article, is whether Dante Moore heads to the NFL after this season. A great deal will unfold between now and the Natty. Other QB's will find their stride(Manning, Lagway, others?). Will Dante continue to improve? Leaving as a #1 overall pick can be alluring, however getting picked by the right bottom feeder team is just as important. Dante has a O line that protects and affords him the opportunity to make good decisions. That O line allows the time for the skill position players to run routes, etc. IMHO, the bottom 5 NFL teams have weaker O Lines and very few playmakers. My guess only but Bo Nix will enjoy his rookie contract much more than Dillion Gabriel. Is Moore experienced enough, at this point, to call audibles? Nix and Gabriel entered the NFL with 60 plus starts. At seasons end, if all goes well, Dante will be in the low twenty's. Big diffetence! This season many Ducks have stepped up their game to new levels resulting in 5 wins. Long ways to go for sure! I cant validate this but i read an article in the BIG 10 News that stated 6 true freshmen Ducks started against PSU. 3 on offense and 3 on defense! WOW! That's difficult, as an ancient gray beard, to wrap my head around. Sure is exciting! We have the best coach who is never satisfied with where the team is at. We have size, speed and skillsets on both sides of the ball. OBDF we have future NFL talent at every position! How is that possible? This Duck squad has a manageable but challenging schedule ahead to be in the BIG title game, again. The talent is on the field, they just have to continue their hard work and focus to make it happen! This fan is up for a tOSU vs Duck title game and a rematch somewhere in the playoffs. Are you? Go Ducks......

I’m not going to dig too much into anything I have zero control over, such as how my entertainment is funded. That being said, agreeing to anything that goes until 2046 seems completely insane on the surface imo. If you want an example, just look at how bad (moving forward) the ACC current grant of rights deal looks right now…and it still has 11 years to go.

LOL...YEAH! But, GREAT recruiting tool....FOR US! Says to the world...yeah we have LA and all to do there...but if your truly serious about being DEVELOPED to the best of your abilities...the U of O is where you need to go. Thanks USuC. Now can we get OOOcla to whine about Dante's resurgence as the top Heisman candidate this year. (Please make sure to mention him as the THIRD Oegon QB, in a row, competing for that). OBD loves us some free "pub". Thanks! 😁

Yeah, the WSU DC Grinch that came to USC was one of the best DCs WSU ever had. Gave USC a good D for one year, then it was all downhill after that to the basement and USC fans swore he was a horrible DC. It appears to be happening all over again with the former UCLA DC that was the best thing since sliced bread for UCLA.

AAaaannddd there it is. As soon as college football became NFL-lite "money" ideas started to be put into play by Non-football entities. Always, always seems, looks, feels positive and a greAt idea (sold to us that way), and sometimes it can be, but as Steven A pointed out that when the "profits" hit the bottom line the ONLY concern a "private equity" firm has is for themselves and their Largest investors. Maybe the B1G should have a "chat" with struggling Las Vegas and how their "partnerships" with the "private equity" firms have worked out for them so far. Lord please let the Ducks win the "Natty" before too much of what we love About this sport, that we enjoy and follow so adamantly; gets morphed into simply another "product" to mold, control, manipulate, and bullrushed into squeezing every last penny of profit out of it by people who give an absolute rat'butt about the product that they squeeze the life out of. Hope they know what can-O-worms they are opening and how the echos of the consequence's will become permanent and irreversible to the NFL-lite landscape. Be careful for what you wish for. Monkeypaw energy with this announcement. Go Ducks.

$2 billion for media rights extension through 2046? For 100% of the media rights. Are the B1G media rights now pledged by all member schools through 2036, with the current media deal expiring in 2030? On the surface, the deal appears to be thin, no? Future media deal projections estimate each school receiving up to $100 million a year in revenue distributions beginning in 2031. If the new deal runs through 2036, that's $600 million a member, $10.8 billion total. But, wait a minute ... As Pete Thamel's article on ESPN notes, the equity share payment to each member would be tiered; Northwestern would not receive the same share as Ohio State. And the entity infusing the capital would own 5%, one twentieth, of Big Ten Enterprises. The conference would remain in control of its business affairs. Now, the potential deal makes more sense. I trust Petitti and the Big Ten's investment bankers not to get taken advantage of. So-called 'Expert Journalists,' excluding Pete Thamel, whose article is explanatory rather than critical, opining that this is another bad idea from the B1G, are again clueless. (We will see an AQ PO format and PO expansion, probably sooner than later.) Tony Petitti's goal is to keep the Big Ten together as a holistic enterprise; no need to form a Super Conference. No need to leave any program behind, while also taking into consideration that not all members, when it comes to the bottom line, are equal. Coming from a media background, another likely goal of Petitti is to own and control Big Ten broadcasts, including when football games kick off. The B1G and other big-time college sports conferences and teams will continue to seek out new revenue sources. As the conference with the most revenue, the B1G is in the driver's seat.

Is this money going to help the non revenue sports? Is it to offset the travel costs of the expanded map already in play or potentially when the league expands into the South with FSU, North Carolina, Virginia and Georgia Tech ? Why are Michigan and Ohio State potentially against this?

Oregon - Indiana Pre-Game Reports, Interviews, Etc.
Each and every year, we end up seeing some of these players, former college stars, end up wearing the clothing of some of their most hated rivals, thanks to lost bets on Saturday afternoons. This week, it was both New York Giants star Abdul Carter and Indianapolis Colts star Tyler Warren — both rookies who played for the Penn State Nittany Lions a year ago — who were made to wear Oregon Ducks gear for their media availabilities on Wednesday. Ruh-Roh! The Thriving "Bear" Has Trojans Butt-Hurt...
Lincoln Riley was great in the Big 12. He was probably the most innovative offensive play caller at the second most talented program and the kings of the conference. Oklahoma has the most conference championships of anyone with 40 plus. The Sooners made it to the four team playoff the third most behind Alabama and Clemson with five. Care to know how many they won? Care to know the average amount they lost by? It's October so maybe you do. I just think Riley made his name beating the Timmys and Moes, in the B1G or SEC if he had stayed at Oklahoma he doesn't have advantage because now there are several teams with Jimmys and Joes . You gotta out coach some guys at this level.

Oregon Football: Is Moore the Best in the Country?
My favorite part of this question about our Oregon football program? You’re probably asking, “Which one?” While the header image might be a giveaway, I’m going to pick the quarterback that I was DREADFULLY wrong about this offseason: Dante Moore. I had reservations in the spring about whether Dante could get it done as a first-year starter with Oregon, even ... Oregon Football is Moore the Best in the Country

Ducks vs Them Penn St
I've seen so many highlights and reaction videos from this game that this episode really fell flat. It was mostly just highlights from the game. I guess I am too entitled.

I also meant to mention last night while posting here that I am glad to learn that Bear Alexander appears to have "grown up" considerably and s making great progress in Eugene after his miserable showings in Athens and Los Angeles. He, I believe, was on his last shot and is not wasting it. So, congrats to the young man and to the Duck staff for helping to set the young man straight.

I certainly agree that you are fortunate to have Lanning (as I have noted here several times). And I do believe that a Natty is in our future, maybe even this year. There is always hope, No?

Is the 'Cig' ALL SMOKE?
I actually believe he has the LBs to run the Mint. But he doesn't have the DL this year. The LBs cover sideline to sideline better than everyone else in my opinion. But they don't get to the QB as effectively as they did during the Title runs. I haven't seen the Bama get her in detail. But after reviewing the Tennessee tape, it doesn't appear their CBs are as effective either. I believe that depends on the set of WRs they face though, as they seem to have Texas' number, but not Bama's. And Tennessee really went after them. Long story short, I'm not sure yet. I do think the scheme has run it's course though. But it just might be the talent level across the board is much more equal than before the NIL era.

When Will They Fall, Predicting the Undefeateds First Loss
When I saw the Penn State punt team run out on the field at the 36 yard line, and kick a net 16 yard punt, I think I instantly had flashbacks of Mario. That was a bad decision that has not been discussed much by the media. Mario loses to an unranked team every season. They will probably beat FSU next weekend and then lose to some below 0.500 conference team. Book it!

Moore in no Hurry to Leave for the NFL
“The Trojans proved in their loss Saturday against Illinois that they still aren't a contender just yet.” Not yet, huh? 6-6 in conference play since joining the BIG screams just on the edge of greatness. Michigan is up next, so that is probably dropping below 0.500 real fast.

Moore in no Hurry to Leave for the NFL
NIL $$ makes the staying choice much easier. His willingness to submit to sitting last year proves he understands the long term value he gains by learning all he can. The QB position, along with maybe O-line, are the spots where live game experience is most needed for NFL success. My money says he stays. If he does, we mist likely lose Novosad.
