Does Oregon Have the BEST Path to a Championship?
Thanks Alex for your thoughts and perspective on OBD's path to the Natty. I feel that the Ducks have the easiest opening round game, on paper, in any bracket. Moving forward into the quarterfinals we have the most difficult path. The Red Raiders can hold their own with any opening round opponent. Their CFP ranking the last 4 weeks says so! (LOL) The Tech game will be a 60 minute battle. The Red Raiders have not faced a well balanced offense like the Ducks. Nor have they faced a defense like OBD's. The Ducks have future NFL players filling both sides of the ball. TT has not faced a complete team like the Ducks! The Red Raiders, just like Indiana, are hungry to excorcise decades of demons. We didn't handle the Hoosiers very well! The Ducks must start fast, play clean mistake free football. Take their rabid fans out of the game by putting TT in a early, deep hole. Moving forward is hard to predict. Will the curse of the first round bye continue? Who will fall or proceed? That first round by is the unknown elephant in the room. Is the SEC overrated? Underrated? Indiana will find out just how good the SEC is, for sure. Georgia most likely will face souless Ole Miss. Miami will handle a highly overated Aggie team to get their shot at tOSU. Alex, if OBD's make it to the finals, my gut tells me that they would face Georgia! Not tOSU........ Looking forward to reading all the thoughts today on this thread. Go Ducks and Go OBDF!

Haloti Ngata Inducted Into the College Hall of Fame
Congratulations to Haloti! One of the all time greats and most dominant Oregon Duck. I remember when he committed to Oregon out of high school. It was a major recruiting coup. He was rated the #1 overall defensive player in the class and he certainly lived up to that in college and the NFL. Does Oregon Have the BEST Path to a Championship?
Here. We. GO. Our Oregon football program is officially in the dance again after an 11-1 regular season, and the matchup is set for James Madison to come up to Autzen on December 20th @4:30 PST. While the Ducks are opening as massive favorites (-21.5 points at the time of writing this), the confidence this team must have entering their ... Does Oregon Have the BEST Path to a Championship

The Delusion Bowl Needs to Become a Thing.
Notre Dame did NOT get shafted. They weren’t even in the top 8(2 full rounds of playoff teams). Only 2 teams ended the regular season 12-0. They played each other and Indiana won. If you lose a game then you have no gripe when other teams don’t lose games. If they don’t like it then join a conference and you are guaranteed a shot to get in. Aaaaaaaaaall a-Nother Lame teams fault.

The Delusion Bowl Needs to Become a Thing.
Iron sharpens iron. Rather than improving the SEC’s top tier teams chances for success, avoidance often diminishes the over all ability to meet challenges.

Joe Moore Award Finalists
Speaking of the BIG, only four teams from last year's 12 team playoffs again qualified this year . . . Oregon, Indiana, Ohio State and our forum friend's Georgia Bulldogs.

What? A 42 Inch Vertical and Gatlin Bair Can't Even DUNK?
His speed and ability to juke and side-step defenders makes him the full package at receiver. With his added weight, he’s going to be a defender’s red zone nightmare on back shoulder corner end zone passes.

Go Suck A Fart Notre Dame!
Even so, you have to wonder why so many FSU guys opted out. I want to remind you that their opponent, Georgia, also got snubbed that year. They had one loss by 3 points in the SEC Championship game while missing their two most electric offensive players (Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey, both of whom tried to go and just couldn't). But the Dawgs didn't whine. They showed up , played, and dominated, no surprise with so many Seminoles sitting home. Pride stimulated them to show up and FSU still hasn't recovered from the shellacking. IMHO, paid players should not be allowed to desert their team because their feelings are bruised.

What? A 42 Inch Vertical and Gatlin Bair Can't Even DUNK?
By the way, there is a video on YouTube showing him doing a beautiful between the legs windmill dunk. I think he’s also a pretty great basketball player.

Gatlin Bair is extremely talented. He has great hands, speed, and incredible leaping ability. I’m excited to see what he does next year.

The Oregon Offense is Still Growing
Interesting stat I saw that before the injuries to Moore and Bryant his snap count per game was going down. Basically he was losing his hold on his position in the lineup. With the injuries he stepped up in a big way. He absolutely needs the ball thrown his way more. One of my observations from game one was that he was sneaky in that he ran a good route and was a reliable receiver. More recently his speed is flashing and he is getting even more dangerous. Get him some touches and force the defense to guard everyone. I bet they can't.

The Oregon Offense is Still Growing
Benson to me is the #1 WR. TD vs Indiana, Clutch catch vs Iowa, TD vs UW and a punt return vs USC. He needs the ball thrown his way more often.

Wild Global Connections of FishDuck.com...
Well, connections both good and bad. We have been attacked by global spammers from Russia, Pakistan, Vietnam and Germany recently. They have tried to register to mess us up, but my manual approval system now allows me to enjoy declining their application. On the positive side...I really appreciate everyone reading FishDuck.com articles, and ignoring the backlink sentence that helps to pay the bills. You know the sentence...something like, "Our Mr. FishDuck took a break from his degenerative addiction to a gambling site to weigh in on this topic." Know that I've NEVER actually gambled on any of these sites; I have vices, but not that one. We have THREE backlink orders this week, and they are global as well, from Sweden, Philippines, and Andorra. (Small postage-stamp ski-resort nation on the border of France and Spain) And....I do not allow backlinks to ADULT sites, but I have to admit that a site that invites you to create an AI girlfriend? I was tempted, simply for the timeliness and novelty of it. Just Giving THANKS to EVERYONE...

Private Equity Possibly has a New Partner, and it is not a Conference.
This could be a huge break through (sorry beavs, four-digit deals are probably the best you will be able to do in your future). Sources: University of Utah nearing landmark private equity deal expected to generate $500 million - Yahoo Sports The move isn’t completely foreign to college sports. Over the last several months, a host of schools — Kentucky, Michigan State, Clemson — have announced the creation of a private, revenue-generating entity outside of the athletic department as college sports evolves into a more professionalized ecosystem. None of those schools have partnered with an equity firm.

Fernando Mendoza Wins the Kreisman Award - Heisman to Follow?
I would vote for Pavia, without him Vandy would be 6-6 at best. Indiana still would have won at least 10 games. That's just my opinion and we all know that opinions are just like.....

Fernando Mendoza Wins the Kreisman Award - Heisman to Follow?
Mendoza probably wins the Heisman... I'm fine with that. As long as we block them from a national championship I am even more fine with it.

The Oregon Offense is Still Growing
I actually think Benson is just as good of a match for EStew. JMac has been exceptional and I had predicted a big year for him with Stewart out. Getting GBJ and DAK back are the keys as Bryant is excellent finding the first down marker and sitting while DAK requires extra attention which is its own advantage. I'm more excited to see Poncho and the rest of the line healthy as our run game suffered mightily against that purple team. Either way we have more weapons than 2014 when Utah decimated our receivers, Sco Ducks

The Delusion Bowl Needs to Become a Thing.
I've been a big proponent of this idea. I think a 16 team playoff with a 16 team NIT would be a win win for everybody. Throw in economic incentives round by round and the players could stay motivated and the teams and fans get much more than a mere Tatter Tot Bowl invite.

The Oregon Offense is Still Growing
Great article David. In the past, when we had such injuries on offense? We were cooked... But now with a defense, and better depth in the trenches--we can survive these games and build depth as newbies get PT. But when just ONE of the wide receivers return? Look Out!
